I read the reviews before I bought the webcam. Just like everyone says this is a great webcam: easy to install and image is sharp. I love it and highly recommand to people who are thinking of buying it. You can only find the product this good with such a low price in buy.com. I have Windows XP and did not need to use the installation disk. I use the webcam with Yahoo Messenger. Excellent Webcam. Good picture and sound. It sits on my Dell 24 inch screen without any problems. Was this review helpful?

Great little webcam! I love the bendable stand, it attaches easily to the monitor or sits on the desktop. The camera swivels back and forth too, so you can view other people or the whole room. The box says to install the software before plugging it in, but it wasn't necessary. I have XP and was up and chatting on gmail video chat in 5 minutes. I'm sure if you use windows live it might be ok, but it works great out of the box, no need to install software you don't need. Great picture quality, and the microphone worked wonderfully too. This is my first webcam, but for ease of use and just keeping in touch with family/friends, it's great! Was this review helpful?

I got this excellent piece for $25, which is a steal.
The resolution of video is great also the low-light feature actually works. Flexible stand is innovative and effective too.
This cam is not for professionals but it can very well server your everyday purpose.
Only downside is the installation part. It took 30 mins to install this one and it installs lot of unnecessary ms software alongwith.

This is one of the best web cam for the price, I used many other web cam around this price range and it's sucks. This is one of the best one I found so far, I ended up bought 2 of this cam one week apart from the other after I saw how the picture quality was. Just get it won't regret it. I never try out the built in speaker, because I use this cam for home security in my room just for the fun and my curiosity. Excellent quality and great price very happy with it. I own a Logitec 9000 and purchased this unit for my daughter in college. It may not have as many bells and whistles as mine but the image and sound I receive from when we Skype each other is excellent. This camera is the best value for your dollar.

Fantasic price, decent quality mic, more than decent price… I am very happy. I didn’t install the disks, just pugged it in and I was chatting away on google talk w/video in about 30 seconds. At the time I bought this little camera, it was $20.00 and it was a steal. The set-up was easy, the quality is amazing for such a small item. This camera was purchased for someone that's not very computer literate, and they found to be easy to use. I don't know if I would pay for it at the normal price, but it is a good product. Perhaps that great deal will come again an in which case, I would encourage you to purchase it, if not for yourself, then as a gift. Was this review helpful?

I have been thrilled with the performance of this webcam. I can see my girlfriend very well in (except for the faint glow of her laptop screen) pitch darkness. Smoothness, even on my antiquated P4m 1.8Ghz 512mb laptop is pretty nice. On a nicer PC I have seen it indeed performs even better. The Lifecam software is interesting; I deleted it b/c Movie Maker serves my needs fine, even though it doesn't have the "masks" or other fun things to play with. I use the VX-5000 with Skype, and have worked with the setting in Skype to put out a smoother, more balanced, and colorful picture. Such things as turning backlight compensation off and exposure down help, to name a few. Audio quality is excellent! Natural, uncompressed feeling. It feels like I bought a fair quality stand alone mic. It also blocks out almost ALL background noise. Design is great! I love the little tail, very handy and sturdy. Good build quality. (I like Microsoft hardware MUCH better than their software :P) This is my first webcam, but I thoroughly researched before buying. I purchased two of these, one for my mother and one for me, so that she could watch the kids open presents on Christmas morning for a bit. Neither of us had any problem installing the device and mom is middle-of-the-road in terms of her computer knowledge. The picture and sound quality are both great, in my opinion.
Also, we both like how the attached stand is flexible to where you can put it on the top of your LCD or CRT monitor, you can place it on the top of your desk surface or I'd imagine you can use it on top of your laptop screen so it's pretty versatile in that sense.

Its very easy to mount on desktop, laptop or any flat surface.The quality of the microphone is good too.The quality of the picture in dim light is very good. I am very happy with this product.
