works well at slow speed on 3 PCs I own. They do not work at rated speed but could burn at up to 4X

I bought 50pcs, never works. No matter I slow down burning speed to 2.4X or 4X, still does not work! My DVD drive won't recognize the disc or have multiple READ ERROR. Avoid this blank DVD, I don't know how can this kind of crap still in the market. Go for Verbatim.

I was unsure at first, but for $29.99 for 2 packs of 25 DVD, I had to find out if they work better than Verbatims. I have a Quad Core 2.4 Ghz and 2 GB RAM and LG GGC-H20L writer. I use ImgBurn to burn backup 360 games. First I burned a game at 4x, but 360 had problems reading it so it was unplayable. Then, I burned at 2.4x and seems to work with occasional "unreadable" disk errors. At least the Memorex work good enough for me. The white plastic label does not look like the purple ones in the photos. SO, for the money, they are less than 1/2 the price as Verbatims ( which are great). For backing up games, I think I will burn at 2x, which everyone seems to recommend.

I've been using Verbatim DL media and thought I give these a try because of the price and I have to say I'm quite satisfy with the quality of the burn. I have no issues at all burning these discs in my Pioneer DVR-212D drive at 4X. For those that are interested in the disc ID, it's RITEK-S04-66.

Got 7 coasters and 18 good burns this time at 4X. Writing .ISO files to the disks. Used a fast AMD system, plenty of memory a Lite-ON drive. NO virus scanners installed. Also disabled the ethernet card to avoid interruptions from the net. After the last fiasco with cheap discs from Buy.Com, 7 bad ones is acceptable. Be sure to use verification after the burn process as I had a few burn 100% but have bad sectors which fail the verify. Good luck Bob L

I believe after Verbatim, memorex are the better media on the market, everything I put on them work fine and there is not device having issues reading it so far.

I know some people have had some issues with dual-layer Memorex DVDs. I, too, have had some coasters result but they are few and far between. I tend to prefer the Verbatim but I will use the Memorex when they are on sale at this price. I just burn slow and use ImgBurn and verify it after; work well and a great price.

This was the best value on the internet for these disks. I have had quality issues with other brands and found Memorex DL disks to be best. My order here, was expedient and precise. Thanks.

Out of 25 i had one bad disc. This is easier to swallow at $.20 a disc then $.80. There are better quality Dula layer discs out there but the price is right for these

If you wish to backup your movies on a single DVD, Dual Layer is needed for many movies. The Memorex brand is good and I've not had any problem with the media. The most positive aspect of my purchase experience was the price. Buy.Com was significantly lower that anyone else. Their "budget/free" shipment was timely. No need to pay extra for expeidted delivery.

I had several bad discs in the first package. I call Memorex, faxed them (actually e-mailed them) by buy.com receipt, and they replaced EVERYONE that had a failure. They even rounded up to the nearest 10 for me. My failure rate was about 20% on the first batch, but has been much lower (less failures) since the first set. Overall, I continue to buy these because I simply cannot beat the price, and the "really" high-end brands are 3x more expensive.

These seem to be good double layer DVDs at the best price I could find. Their only drawback is they are not suitable for printing on directly.

I was always skeptical about buying memorex media because a friend of mine use to buy the cds and had all kinds of problems with them, so I thought these issues would carry over to the DVDs. I have been using mainly TDK or verbatim DVD media for about 5 years now and have been happy with those although I have had the occasional coaster which I attributed to software and not media. I saw these memorex DVDs were a pretty good deal so I decided to give them a try. So far I have burned about 10 DVDs which have played on my panasonic home player with no issues (no coasters either). I will definitely buy them again if the price continues to be good although you would think they should be even cheaper by now. The only thing I can't account for is if the shelf life will be just as good over the years. My TDK/Verbatim media still have no issues playing after 5 years.

cmon you cant beat the price. a disc is a disc generic or top of the line it still does the same thing and for 30 dollars cheaper i say thank you!

I HAVE USED ABOUT 12 OF THESE DISCS SO FAR WITH NO FAILURES. I HAVE AN HP LITESCRIBE BURNER AND IT DOSEN'T LIKE 4.7 G DISCS.

I have not had any problems with these DVD+R DL media thus far which indicates to me that they are excellent in terms of quality. Factor in the low price I paid for them and these have surpassed my expectations. Buy.com processed my order immediately and they were at my door very quickly thus making me one happy customer. Some general DVD burning tips: 1) Make sure your DVD burner has the latest firmware. 2) Burn at 4X rather than the media's maximum 8X in order to reduce the probability of errors. 3) Make sure to use proper burning software.

No problems with the DVDs, they worked fine. Extremely durable. I recommend to burn your stuff at the lowest speed possible (no matter how long it takes). The results will be better and it'll last longer.

These dual layer DVD's are exactly what is stated on Buy.com. They actually record on two different and distinct layers of the media. They have exactly 120mm form factor so they fit in the recorder just fine. A total of 25 was in each spindle; exactly as advertised. 8.5 GB is the capacity but I never personally experienced writing every single solitary byte on the media to determine if this is actually true. I would recommend purchasing them to anyone that wants the media to fit into their recorder. I tried 33rpm vinyl record blanks but they just broke my recorder. Buy them now before they run out completely and don't make them anymore.

THIS DOES NOT SUPPORT 2.4X WRITING SPEED WHICH IS MOST COMMON IN DELL LAPTOP.

So far so good and cost effective. No problems so far. Just remember to update the firmware of your drive and use slow burning speeds. Use what the your DVD burner drive reads as compatible on your computer when it comes to speed. Just because it says 2.4x-8x doesn't mean you can always use 8x. It is dependent entirely on the DL burn speed of your drive. Not to be mistaken with the Single Layer Burn speed or DVD-Ram burn speed etc. Also, the software you use also comes into play, I advise doing some research if you have the time. You could save a bundle instead of paying a lot more for Verbatim brand (overrated as of late, manufacturing now done in different parts of the world).

As most people probably know, there are only a few factories that make DVD blank media discs, so virtually all the ones you see for sale are purchased from an OEM supplier and branded with the company's logo. For the last year or two, Memorex double-layer discs were produced by Ritek, which manufactures reasonably good quality DL media. However, Memorex recently changed its supplier, and now is rebranding Ricoh discs, which are of much lower quality. (For those that care, media descriptor of the Memorex DL discs is RICOH JPN-D01-67.) I have two DVD burners. One produces 0 (zero) successful burns with these discs, while the other burner has about an 80 percent success rate. YMMV. At any rate, if you've used Memorex DL media successfully before, be aware that quality of the new OEM supplier is significantly lower.

These disks fail 100% in both my Lite-on and Ben-Q burners. I am stunned that name-brand disks cannot burn even one time in two name-brand drives. I know how to burn disks, DL and otherwise. I've set Nero to all of the speeds offered, including 2.4x. I've never had a 100% fail rate before, no matter how cheap the no-name disks. Where do these Memorex DL disks come from? Somebody's garage workshop? Needless to say, I am not at all happy to have thrown away good money for utterly worthless disks.

These discs do not work with my Dell computer and burner. I've tried over a dozen discs and only 1 completed recording (but would not play)while the others stopped after about 7-8 minutes. I have a different brand of blank discs that have recorded over 50 discs without a problem.

I've been using these for quite a while. There was the very rare error, but over the past year there have been more errors. One pack works fine...so far, the other really makes me mad. Out of all 15 that I have attempted to burn all have failed with the same error on my Mac, and to top it off is stuck and I get a no drive found error as well. 50 DVDs for $50 is no deal knowing that the rest will get pitched because I'm not risking that again. It's off to a Mac site to see what real users are buying and bite the bullet and pay a bit more up front, but have no landfill in the end.

These DVDs are great, I have burned several hundred of them, and not had a SINGLE coaster. I am using a Samsung dvd burner on maximum speed and CloneDVD2 and AnyDVD. If your burner won't burn any kind of disk you put in it- get a new one- one that isn't a piece of junk. Make sure to use good software, (not freeware or shareware). Update your burner firmware, and make sure your computer can handle crunching large amounts of data. This can all be done for less than the price of a 100 count DL DVD spindle of any brand, and you won't have coasters. And if you still get 5 out of 5 coasters, find a new hobby.

i have burned 6 of the disks so far and have yet to coaster one. i'm using a sony burner optiarc AD-7173A. it burns the disk at about 7.5x. i've been using the memorex 2.4x DL disks just fine as well. i usually coaster only 1 in 10. i've only been using sony burners and have had great luck with them. i also have a high performance computer to ensure that data is flowing to the burner at a rate higher then it can burn. it you have a slow computer, it can cause the disks to not burn correctly, buffer underrun problems (the buffer is empty but the disk is not yet complete). the burner has to pause to wait for the buffer to refill, sometimes it does not restart properly. make sure your computer is unloaded while you're burning or that you're computer has enough processor/memory power to handle the burn without it pausing (i have a quad-core intel box with 3Gbytes of memory)

If you are looking for solid stable performance, stick with the Verbatim DL discs. Even the Verbatim DL discs made in India I find are better quality than these discs. I've used about 10 of these discs and just about every other time I get a laser power calibration error on these discs. Once that happens I have to reboot my computer and try again on my Pioneer 110 burner. Once I do get that power calibration error, if I pop in a Verbatim disc without rebooting, the burn works fine. Out of the 10 discs I made 2 coasters. With the Verbatim discs I got maybe 1 - 2 coasters out of about 150 discs.

These blank DVD's perform excellently, hardly had any problems when recording data. With buy.com I obtained these for an excellent price, hence the good rating.

I started using Memorex DL discs when they first came out and they were terrible... nothing but coasters. I changed to the Verbatim and they were great. I decided to give Memorex another try asthey came out with a really good price for the 8x speed DL discs and I have been surprised with the improvement in the quality. I have gone through my first spindle of 25 and not one problem... I hope I haven't jinxed myself!

I'd rather use Verbatim DL discs, but it's getting harder and harder to find them on sale. Although since Verbatim has moved production to India I get a coaster occasionally with those discs too. Memorex DL has been a decent substitute and I get about one failure in ten with my Pioneer DVR-112 burner. Not that bad really, especially when I can frequently find Memorex on sale. Like here on Buy.com!

These don't work on my Samsung SH-S203B burner, my Sony NEC AW-G170S burner, or my NEC ND-6650 burner. The Memorex 2.4X speed Dual Layers are still working great - never a miss. I've had success with Memorex 8X before also. BUT THIS BATCH...With these 8X speed I've had no success. I didn't try them within the 14 day return policy time, so I'm stuck with 50 disks that don't work. On the bright side, I only have to try 32 more times before these are gone. TOTAL waste of money.

Rather it is the compatibility of the burners that are causing the issues of most on here. I have gone through 5 spindles of these and have yet to encounter a single bad one? Luck? No. But my burner obviously loves these media. Good luck.

I have a Sony DRU810A burner and have not been able to get a complete burn out of a disc. There is a error somewhere in the procees that says bad or dirty media and the disc is rejected. I checked Sonys web site and this media is not on there recommended media so that may be the problem. So I would recommended you check your specs for your burner before you buy any Dual Layer media because you may be stuck with something you can not use. Also if possible it would be nice if the media seller could have a combatiablity chart on there site for recommended media for the burners they sell.

I've tried using these on my desktop and my laptop. I tried reducing the burn speed to 4X. I tried using Nero. I tried using DVDFab. Every disc so far has FAILED.
