5 of 5 Good Product Saturday, May 24, 2008 A Customer from Buzzards Bay, MA
Wanted a MP3 transmitter for plugging in and the SD card feature seemed like a good idea. Works well. A little bit of whine when using the cable to the MP3 player. Not bad at highway speed. Probably because the car is getting old, and the wiring is getting on, there is some electrical leakage that shows up a a hiss. For the audiophile? - NO - If you want something to get your mp3s to your car radio without a new 200-400 dollar stereo, then this will work. Over all it is a product that works well. Nice to have the adjustable angle to be able to operate the controls easier since both cars have very different angles for the power points. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Poorly built Wednesday, May 21, 2008 A Customer from Portland, OR
I ordered this transmitter based on the good reviews. It's my first FM transmitter so I didn't really know what to expect in terms of quality. When the package arrived, it looked so cheap. But I didn't want to judge it based on appearance, so I eagerly brought it to my car and test it out. I even researched the best channels in my area so I could tune the radio for best reception. The set up was easy, though one of the buttons is sticky. The reception, however, was truly less than desirable. I had to turn my radio volume to nearly the maximum (I normally use about 25/100 volume). The reception was worse than the AM signal. Tried several other channels but none of them work very well either. Needless to say, I'm terribly disappointed. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works Great Tuesday, May 13, 2008 A Customer from Binghamton, NY
The unit was easy to set up and use and delivers good sound quality through the FM radio. There is no shuffel function, but that has not been a problem since it remembers where it was when it turned off. The plastic seems a bit cheap but after 2 weeks it has not broken. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Nifty little device Saturday, April 19, 2008 A Customer from Springfield, MA
Inexpensive way to play your tunes in your car. I bought a 2gb flash drive form buy.com for 12 bucks and this device about 35 bucks and viloa a portable mp3 player for any vehicle. No worries about your mp3 player being damaged or stolen. It even has a volume control. If it had a random feature I would give it a 5.
Works great!!! Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good product. Tuesday, April 15, 2008 Pawan Malpani from Columbus, IN, USA
It is a good product. Features are good and easy to use too. Using SD card and USB drive makes it even easier. The only additional feature I would have loved to have on this is a randon song selection, which we get in an MP3 player. Because of this drawback, all the songs on SD card/Flash drive run in a sequence.

Not at all impressive.
Mine stopped working within 15 days.
Machspeed has horrible customer support.
I had to send it back to Machspeed; they repaired it. The repaired one is working as of now, but I have no confidence in this product now.
Avoid buying it. Was this review helpful?

This things works great! Out of the 3-4 FM modulators I own, this one is clearly the best. Compact size, good sound quality, good volume level, plays external audio (MP3), reads SD cards and USB sticks. What more could you ask for? Very easy to use (no manual required, though a short one is provided). I just copied some songs to a 1GB SD card and plugged it in, and it worked like a champ. Resumes playing last song when powered back up. Backlit LCD screen displays track name, FM frequency (0.1MHz steps), elapsed time and track number. The head pivots to just about any angle. My only possible complaint is that the screen is a little small, but I can live with it. I've owned it for several weeks. Great buy with ten buck rebate! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Finally a FM Transmitter that actually Works! Wednesday, January 16, 2008 SE from Indiana
This is about my fifth FM Transmitter and is by far the best one yet! Previous transmitters all pretty much suffered from the same problem--a weak signal. This one comes in loud and clear and gives many choices for channel. Others typically only had 3 or 4 "pre-set" frequencies. Another plus is that it uses cigarette outlet instead of batteries, which probably also helps to boost the signal. Takes all kinds of inputs (every device i have works + memory cards), but is a bit quirky in that if you have the patch cord plugged in, player will not play a USB device or memory card, even though it displays the contents. Not a big deal, just unplug the cord if not in use. However, this took me a while to figure out because i originally thought stereo wasn't receiving the signal... The screen is also very small and nearly impossible to read while driving (depending on where your outlet is located) All in all, its the best FM transmitter i've owned, and i got a good price on it (mine was $19.95 after rebate)... Not perfect, but for $20 bucks, it sounds pretty darn good! Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Great alternative to an in-dash unit for older veh Saturday, January 05, 2008 Gary from East, Tennessee
I have a 1995 car and a 1984 truck (both with AM/FM cassettes) and wanted someway to listen to all the MP3s I have at home. I don't know how much longer I will keep the car and didn't want to buy a new stereo for it. I got this unit and a 2 gig SD card and put all my favorites songs on it. It wasn't even half full! I plugged it in our car, set the station and before I found the station, it had already scanned the card and found 525 songs and was playing the first one. Sound quality is good, but not great, like an FM signal (which it is). Have been using it about a week now, and am well pleased with it. I added a small rocker switch next to the lighter socket to turn the socket on and off, and now I just leave the unit plugged in and use the switch to turn it off. The next time I turn it on, it starts playing where it left off. That's nice when you have many songs on the memory card. I got it also because I don't have to let it warm up first (it cold here) I'm well pleased with it. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 This stuff is GOOOOOD Friday, January 04, 2008 A Customer from Jackson,MS

No complaints till now! Was this review helpful?
2 of 3 customers found this review helpful. 1 of 5 Horrible product! Tuesday, December 25, 2007 Anshul from San Ramon, CA
I have written 2 reviews about this product before on this site, but Buy.com has not published them. Trying them again the third time. Am not sure if Buy.com will publish it.
My experience with this product has been horrible. It worked for 2 weeks and then stopped working at all.
It looks good in picture, but in reality it is a lousy product.
I would recommend to be away from this product.
The packing does not contain any manual, there is no information about this product on internet, no warranty information. I am stuck with this product. Buy.com has refused to return it and I do not see any guarantee information anywhere on the internet. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Easy to use Gizmo Monday, December 24, 2007 Satish Toshkhani from Cockeysville, MD
I have used other similar devices, but this one is very impressive. Very easy to install, good sound quality and almost no static. You do get static once a while, but that is because of some other external FM signals and disturbances. If you set it up on a frequency you know there is no current broadcast, you will never hear any static.
The best feature of this device is that it has a small LCD display too on top, which shows what song is being played and other useful information. I have been using it for sometime now without any issues with SD card, USB Flash drives, MP3 player and also with my GPS. Fantastic product for the price you pay. I highly recommend this. This little device plays SD card MP3 files like a champ. Probably the clearest reception using an FM transmitter I've ever experienced. Good buy! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Mach Speed Wireless FM Transmitter Wednesday, December 19, 2007 John from Seattle, WA
This little transmitter works great. I was not sure since my wife had bought a more expensive one last year and it didn't work well at all. For the price this is perfect. I love that I can use my ipod as well as memory stick and SD card. You never know where you'll get a chance to grab music and the media options are very cool. I strongly recommend this little unit. 5 of 5 Great product at great price easy to use Wednesday, December 19, 2007 A Customer from Winter Park, FL
The instructions for use were only 3 lines of text on the back of the box but it was all you needed to use it. Had a SD card with MP3 songs on it, put it in the unit, put unit in cigarette lighter outlet, set radio to FM frequency on the unit and was listening to music. My expectations for the sound quality were not high, but I was surprised how good the sound was. Tried it in 2 different cars (including one with a power outlet instead of a cigarette lighter) with excellent results with both. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent shipping! Wednesday, December 19, 2007 mrbean from gilbert, az
I got product on time. This cool gadget is magnificent. I put my MP3 to my SD card or portable USB and plug into the lighter plug choose the station that it pre-selects for you and ... ta da... it works. It even works if you are near another car just set the pre-selected station and you can listen to it as well. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 GREAT PLAYER !!! Tuesday, December 18, 2007 teknodog44@hotmail.com from Rochester, NY
I can't say enough about this product. I put an SD card full of mp3's in it, plugged it into the lighter, tuned the FM radio and it played my music. Sound is good, no static. Way easy to use.
It even comes with a cord to plug into your mp3 player if you need it, but why plug a player in when you can use an SD card or thumb drive ??? Now I have to get one for my wife.
I highly recommend this player. Was this review helpful?

I purchased this product looking at the pictures on the website. But when I received the product, it did not look impressive at all.
Moreover, there was no documentation with the product.
However, it did work fine for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, all of a sudden it stopped functioning. It just doesn't boot up now.
I recommend potential buyers to be careful of this product. Was this review helpful?

I was leary with the title, and couldn't figure out if it was just a transmitter, or actually a stand alone MP3 player. It turns out that it not only is a stand alone MP3 player with a super-strong FM transmitter, but an amazingly simple, compact, and exceptionally good complete device.
The LCD screen is quite detailed showing current FM channel to tune to, scrolling ID3 info, and track number. The 5 buttons are simply last track, next track, play/pause, previous FM frequency, and next FM frequency.
It worked automatically with my 2 Gig SD memory card (haven't tried a USB drive or external source yet), and just starts playing. It even remembers what song I was on between trips (thankfully, since I don't believe it has a shuffle mode).
Great product, at a great price! Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Great product and good value Wednesday, December 12, 2007 DC from Spartanburg, SC
Works just like it says. Sounds great on my radio. The two bottom buttons allows broadcast on any radio station (I thought I would only get a few presets). Very versatile. I have used both the USB and SD card. The only negative is I wish it had a power switch. My cig lighter is always energized, and I have to unplud it when not in use. This is no functionality on organizing or selecting playlists. Only put on the SD or USB songs you want to listen. You can only skip for or bac one at a time. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Fantastic Wednesday, December 12, 2007 A Customer from Carrollton, GA
The favorite of my several mp3 players. Plug it in and just wait a minute for it to start transmitting. Tune to the frequency it displays, or + or - one if necessary. Sounds better than the wired player in my GPS system. Good sound at low volume. When used next time, starts play at beginning of last track played.
Can skip a song or replay one. Lost my 20gb player and haven't even looked for it. Was this review helpful?

If you are looking for a FM transmitter, this may be OK product. But as a player it is pretty bad. Basically it sees all the music files at once and play them in order. It does not see the folder. It remembers the last song but not the time. If you are listening long sound files like audio books etc forget about it. I could not figure |
