5 of 5 Best Mouse I've ever owned Thursday, February 19, 2009 Evan Richardson from Sunnyvale, CA
I purchased this mouse almost 4 years ago now, never wrote a review, but I had to write one now to say how happy I've been.
Pros: Too many to list, but here are a few: It tracks very well, very accurate laser sensor, much more accurate than standard optical mice. Battery life. I can leave it off the charger for 4+ days and not have to charge it, I just put it back on the dock at the end of the day and it's good to go the next day. Comfortable grip: It feels great in your hand, and that's saying alot...it just fits well in your grip, doesn't cause any fatigue.
Cons: The only con I can even think about, which isn't really a con, is that it doesn't work on glass (duh), and that it doesnt have a further range. I like to sit back from my tv and use it, but It seems to be intermitent at around 8-10 feet...this could be how I have the base setup though. What does suck is that I purchased a logitech dinovio bluetooth keyboard and mouse, but i only use the keyboard, but have to keep the base around since thats the bluetooth receiver...so I have two stands for one mouse basically...oh well.
Other thoughts: BUY IT!!! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Our Staff Loves This Mouse! Monday, February 12, 2007 Ebony from Arlington, MA
Bottom Line...it may not be the best mouse out there...but our staff insists that it is a must have. We have never had to replace this mouse with another or send it back for manufacturer's warranty and we have purchased many for our staff. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 It Just Works Monday, January 15, 2007 Brian from Seattle, WA
I've had this mouse for several months now, and I must say it's great. I have owned other cordless mice, and this one is by far the best. (The MS Intellipoint mouse I have is jittery sometimes)
I have used this mouse on several different surfaces and have yet to encounter any tracking issues. It is very precise, and the fact that it is rechargeable is very nice as well (no more replacing batteries).
While I do not use the Logitech software (mainly because I like to have a "clean" system with as little running in the background as possible), I have tried it, and found it to be useful.
Overall I don't think you can go wrong with this mouse. If you are looking for a good desktop mouse, this is the one. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Works super but not with all Software Sunday, October 29, 2006 zhantaxx from Ramsey, Minnesota
I purchased this mouse to find a better product then having to choose from the 100's of microsoft mice. This mouse is great. It scrolls and zooms in and out for a lot of the softwares that I use but the 2 programs I use the most I have not been able to beat the Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer series. These programs are Autocad Mechanical and Visio. For these 2 softwares I am not able to pan side to side or in any direction with this mouse as compared to the Explorer. For these commands I need to use a pull down icon or instruction selection or with Autocad I set up keyboard shortcuts. The one super irritation I have with the explorer is not a factor with the Logitech MX Laser. The microsoft mice are too sensitive and they all zoom out from the work at hand without being requested to do so. I especially like the fact that the Logitech has lithium batteries and comes with its own recharging station. It's like changing from a film camera to a digital camera. Like the camera change, the need to have pictures developed to see them is comparable to having to change batteries every 20 hours of use. I use this mouse 20-30 hours per week. That is a hugh expense done away with via lithium batteries and a charging station. Also, this mouse is miles ahead of anything microsoft has when it comes to the Internet and manuvering around on the web. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 I LOVE this mouse! Tuesday, September 19, 2006 A Customer from Boston, MA
I've been wanting one of Logitech's MX mice for some time. I'm glad I waited for this incarnation. Setup was quite simple. It fits my palm perfectly. Using the mouse is incredibly comfortable and less fatiguing than other cordless, optical mice.
And I love the neat features, such as setting different functionality for the Cruise Up and Down, Forward and Back buttons. Be aware that for Firefox users, the Forward and Back buttons on the thumb side will have to be custom set to go forward or back in web pages, as the default setting is for IE only. However, Logitech provides easy instructions via their FAQ online.
If you are seriously considering this mouse, I highly recommend it. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Wow Thursday, September 14, 2006 A Customer from Richland, Pa
I used a trackball for many years. After reading the reviews, I purchased this mouse. It recharges very quickly. It is a joy to use and the response time is excellent. It is also very comfortable to hold. In my opinion, it is all you can ask for in a mouse. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Logitech's Mouse a Winner Tuesday, September 12, 2006 Donald Bregman from Boynton Beach, FL
The MX-1000 is the internet users dream of a mouse that practically puts all of you control functions at your fingertips. With its multifunction button setup, you rarely need to use your mouse pointer. All that plus the comfort of your hand in the beautifully moulded case. It's a winner. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 BEST MOUSE YET!!! Monday, June 05, 2006 A Customer from PA
This mouse is flawless, comfortable to use for long periods of time and customizable. Being a Mac user, with the update released for the Intel Mac, now I can take full advantage of all the configurations! The options for configurations are wide ranging, making some of the tedious tasks (like saving a document or opening your email) much easier to do. With the control center you can program this mouse to do a variety of tasks that other mice can’t! The tracking on this mouse is amazing, huge improvement over other wireless optical mice. A must buy! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Easily the nicest mouse I've ever used Saturday, April 01, 2006 Brandon from Fairfax, VA
This mouse is amazing. It works on nearly any surface, great battery life, slick design, very comfortable, beautifully designed cradle. I couldn't think of a way to improve it. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Best mouse ever Sunday, March 26, 2006 A Customer from US
I spend a LOT more time on my computer than I should, so I get a lot of experience with this mouse. I have owned it for over a year now, and it has been the best investment ever. The battery is still holding a charge for atleast 4 weeks at a time, and it has fallen on the floor, and still going strong. The mouse just feels completely sturdy. The extra buttons are very nice to customize, making your everyday tasks a lot easier. If you want a good mouse, this is the best mouse you'll ever own! Was this review helpful?

I have used the MX1000 for 6 months and really love this mouse. It is smoother on the screen than my high-end optical corded mice. I use it in a "normal" office setting and not for gaming so I can't comment on gaming use. I have a large hand and the mouse is comfortable for long periods of continuous use. I had acutally bought a top end laser mouse from Logitech's competition here just a week ago for another computer. After using the competitive offering for an hour I boxed it up and took it back. It wasn't even close, the MX1000 was far superior in the screen performance and had a much more solid feel to the unit. I LOVE the rechargable battery system. I only have to put in in the cradle every 2-3 days. I have already told several friends that if they want to "step-up" to a new level of mouse that is better than optical mice, they should try this unit. Was this review helpful?

This mouse is very well constructed, very easy to use, has fun programmable buttons, so you can personalize it just for yourself! I love Logitech products, & this is at least 1 or 2 steps up from the last one i owned~the cordless mx-700, which i also really liked! Was this review helpful?

I love this cordless mouse! I had an MS cordless mouse & had nothing but trouble with it, & it wasn't a cheapie either. But my Logitech cordless laser mouse is great. I don't have to worry about batteries, it's comfortable, & works on all surfaces. I especially like the recharging base & the battery charge indicator on the mouse. Was this review helpful?

These laser mice are expensive and at first you might not think they are anywhere near worth the money, but the first thing you'll notice is it tracks on anything no matter what color or texture. The laser is near invisible, unlike optical, and doesn't distract your neighbor with constant flashing. The battery meter is great and the range from the base great. All the multifunction buttons take some getting used to but once figured out make navigating web pages near motionless for your hand. The design is also fantastic for your thumb, long game play doesn't wear your hand out. Was this review helpful?

NO MORE BATTERIES....EASY TO INSTALL.....LIGHTENING SPEED.....I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH. IT IS A BIT SMALLER THAN MY PREVIOUS MICE.....ALL I CAN SAY IS, YOU GET USED TO IT AFTER AN HOUR. LOVE IT AND BUY.COM!!!!

GOOD: The new functions accessible with the special buttons are useful, especially the "Page Up/Down" and the "Side-to-side" buttons.
BAD: The mouse is so heavy that it is literally hard to control. The drag on the surface of a mouse pad or a smooth desktop is so great that it is a struggle to move and aim the mouse at on-screen items. After two hours of using it, I went back to my old $10 mouse.
I don't recommend buying this product. Was this review helpful?

This is a perfect mouse for me, performance is really really good, definitely you will feel the difference of using an optical mouse. I gave 4 stars only for the fact that they dont supply the wireless key, so I always need to hook the base to USB, otherwise this is a pretty good mouse. Was this review helpful?

I love this mouse!!! With all the features, I am able to switch between programs/documents, scroll up and down web pages, and breeze through spreadsheets with ease! I have gotten so used to this mouse that NO other mouse I have used since even comes close! If you are at your computer for extended periods of time (like I am for work) this is the mouse for you! I have used the MX500, MX700, and now MX1000. I have medium-small hands and I thought the 700 was a little large for my hand. This one fits well. I especially love the thumbrest.
I think the price is good, but not great. The software installs are always a little more garbage loaded than needed.
The range on this one seems to go further than the 700, and the battery life is tons longer. Was this review helpful?
3 of 3 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Large, fast, accurate mouse Friday, April 08, 2005 Brent from Canton, MI
I bought this mouse to replace an aging (and malfunctioning) Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer. I chose it over Microsoft's offerings because none of their current tilt-wheel mice have a "click" when you spin the wheel. Tactile feedback of all the buttons on this mouse is excellent, battery recharges very quickly--it is usable within minutes if you run it dead. Others have commented that this is a smallish mouse, but it is actually larger than most mice out there, so if you're not Goliath, it'll probably fit you--it's certainly beefier than my old Microsoft model. If you have small hands, you should try it before you buy it. It is certainly much faster than my older mouse, and less prone to jitter on my wood desktop. At about $70, it is a tad expensive--but it certainly feels the part. Was this review helpful?

Nice and short. The mouse is amazing and probably the best one on the market. I think they fixed all the problems that everyone else was complaining about with their new software because I have no experienced any of them.

Definitely try this out before you buy it. It works well, but wasn't very comfortable to use - strains my little finger after a few minutes of use. Was this review helpful?

Laser is great, extra thumb button is great, even the 4 directional wheel is an improvemwnt. But one big problem for myself. The mouse is smaller than the mx700. If you have medium to large hands or long fingers it becomes a problem. Definately try it out before you buy. Was this review helpful?
10 of 10 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Currently the Best Mouse on the Market Thursday, September 16, 2004 A Customer from Chicago, IL
This mouse is great for anyone. It has a sleeker design than the Prior MX mice and has perfect functionality. Quick and easy to install. The mouse fits your hand perfectly, and glides unbelievably well along all surfaces. The base station is not as sleek as the mx700, but it makes up for it when the mouse is docked. If you are not into the dark color of the mouse, there is a silver version releasing, just something I saw when I registered the product. The laser is invisible, but the indicators light up green to show the status of the battery level. (or red when empty) I have had no problems with the mouse yet. The scrolling feature is better than most mice, and the thumb buttons add extra functionality. I recommend this mouse to anyone who wants excellent precision, and want more than just an ordinary mouse. Was this review helpful?
