5 of 5 Great Tuesday, March 03, 2009 Max from Dallas, TX
The perfect mouse. I keep the maximum amount of weights in the mouse and it handles like a pro.

5 of 5 Great mouse Friday, November 09, 2007 rmoonin from Trenton, NJ
I am using this mouse not for gaming but in our CPA practice. The mouse just feels right and comfortable for long periods of time. Yes it does cost more than the cheapie mouses out there but then again you get what you pay for. The cable connecting the mouse to the computer is high quality. The ability to change the weight allows us to use our computers for long periods of time with a little less stress on our hands. Tax season in a CPA is stressful enough and I think Logitech has a winner with this mouse. Was this review helpful?

4 of 5 WHAT A GREAT MOUSE Monday, June 25, 2007 all_natural_man from Fultonville, New York
I'm very happy with this mouse .It arrived really fast. I was a little worried about it working with my new Vista system but it works great ,the only thing that doesn't work is the SetPoint I don't know why, but thats only if you want to set the mouse up for certain games.Just as easy to set for each game as you play.
I really like being able to set the weight of the mouse. What a great feel it has now Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent Mouse Monday, June 04, 2007 gametech from Jacksonville, Florida
This mouse is very well made, everything about it feels quality. Mouse sensetivity can be adjusted via a button on the mouse with a lighted indication of what setting it is on. There are 3 settings low, medium, high. Additionally, there is a small weight tray that loads into the bottom of the mouse. Personally I don't really see the need for this feature as you quickly get used to the wieght of any mouse after a few hours of use but I suppose it's nice to know you have the option. Without the wieghts the mouse is pretty average as far as heaviness in my opinion. The cord is long and has a nylon/cloth type covering which adds a nice touch so that it dosen't hang on the corner of the desk as you move the mouse up and down. Overall an excellent mouse for the money. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Nice mouse Wednesday, May 30, 2007 A Gamer from Lisle, IL
had logitech mx518 mouse and decided to upgrade. The adjustable weight is great for different types of games. the pointer is smoother and accurate then the 518. The price at ($...) had to get it. For gamers its a ++++ but for daily users its not needed. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 THE PERFECT GAMERS MOUSE! Tuesday, May 01, 2007 A Gamer from Marietta, Ohio
I just bought one of these 2 weeks ago and I'm an avid World of Warcraft player and everyone knows in that game how much of a role the mouse plays in moving your character.
The Logitech G5 is made with the gamer in mind, i'm able to move my character on a dime, when fighting and being swarmed i'm able with very little movement of the mouse turn my character 180 degrees to face off with whoever or "whatever" is attacking me.
The cord being shrouded in cloth adds to the perfection of this mouse, unlike standard mice the cord would grip to the surface your mouse is on this mouse is free to move without any sudden stops or tugs from a gripping cord.
The weights are a great feature and give the mouse a good solid feel.
Would i recommend this mouse? You're damn straight I do! It's the best hands down! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good gaming mouse Tuesday, April 17, 2007 A Gamer from CT
the good things about this mouse are as follows: The adjustable weight is cool - I never new that I would like a heavier mouse. Action is smooth and drivers are rock solid and available for all platforms including x64 versions. Adjustable sensitivity is good for snipers and works well. I purchased this for BF2142 - I wanted to change over to a better mouse for sniper precision and this mouse delivered. The only drawback is that I miss the back button when surfing the web - something that I find annoying but for gaming it works well Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 It is outstanding! Friday, March 02, 2007 A Gamer from Bayonne NJ
The mouse is INCREDIBLE! I have found it to be superior to the Copperhed and the MX518 and I couldn't be happier with mine.
P.S. I recommend pairing with a Steelpad 5L for the champion setup. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 $ + Learning curve = A Great Mouse Monday, January 29, 2007 VegasGeorge from Las vegas, NV
The G5 works really well. It is expensive for a mouse. Don't think that it will make you a super player right out of the box, it won't. You have to learn how to use and control the mouse. It is much more sensitive than an ordinary mouse, and even with the sensitivity control, that takes some getting used to. To be honest, at first I was disappointed. But, now that I've used the G5 for a while, I can see how I'm improving with it. If you're willing to go through the training period, and can afford the price, go for it! Otherwise, just use a standard optical mouse. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Good Mouse for everything, not just gaming.. Tuesday, September 26, 2006 A Gamer from Baltimore, Maryland
I had to get a new mouse because my stock Dell one was ignoring some of my clicks; one of the buttons had a halfway down "false" click and you had to push down harder to get to the "real" click. Dirty? Probably. Good excuse to get a new one. The G5 feels more substantial, more weighty (I didn't even bother to put in any weights in the cartridge that slips into the bottom) and it just feels comfortable in the hand; I also like the ability to change the granularity of movement right there on the mouse. Overkill if you're not a major gamer? Maybe, but the smoothness of movement and the overall feel translates to everything you do, so I'm fairly happy with it. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Do you really need weights? Wednesday, June 21, 2006 A Gamer from Highland Park, IL
This device has performed as expected. I have experienced no lag between hand movement and screen and because of this it has successfully replaced my wireless mouse for gaming. However, to this day I'm still trying to understand the "value" of the adjustable weights. If you need to modify the balance of your mouse, I'm thinking you may have too much time on your hands. 5 of 5 fantastic, great adjustability, Tuesday, February 14, 2006 Glenn V from Springfield, VA
This is a great mouse, especially for those of you like me with large hands. I also like the ability to change the weight of the mouse, as I tend to like a heavy chunk of mouse to slide around. I am using it with an "icemat" mousepad, and the feel and control are beyond comparison. I do a lot of gaming as well as a considerable amount of time with Photoshop, and the response and precision are a definate boon. The only thing that I miss from other mice is a right side lower button, typically the "forward" in most browsers... All in all, I would buy a second to replace this one if it died. 5 of 5 Best mouse ever Wednesday, January 25, 2006 stonec00Id from cortlandt Mnr, NY
My previous mouse was Microsoft Intellimouse, whose left click button stopped working after 4 months. I did some research and found that Logitech had lots of good reviews for it. I just received my G5 yesterday and OMG, I fully agree. I bought it mainly for gaming, but this mouse is great for everything. Working on Photoshop is a breeze now because you can adjust the dpi w/ just a press of the button. The mouse is big so it fits well in your hand. And the adjustable weights are kind of cool. I like to have a little meat on the G5 does the job.
This is the best mouse I ever owned. Only negative. is the one thumb button, but you get used to it. And you can program any buttons on this mouse so gamers can program the lean button as the left or right scroll button. Pretty cool indeed.

5 of 5 Truely Amazing Tuesday, January 10, 2006 Zappor from New Jersey
This mouse is amazing, Especially for what i got. I have no way to describe it, it glides!! It floats across the mouse pad. This is the ultimate gaming mouse. Amazing features allowing you to map your own buttons. Also im a huge gamer so are my friends. So i like my sensitivity at midrange about 800-1000 dpi. My friend likes it high at 2000. So when he comes over he can switch it on the fly. Its so conveniant. I paid no shipping, it came 3 days after i ordered. Thats amazing overall, it may seem a bit pricey. But believe me if you have the money, BUY IT!! Was this review helpful?

A high performing mouse for gamers like me, but made more for right-handed consumers. I am a lefty and forcing myself to switch over while being fragged from "left to right" ;) Was this review helpful?
1 of 4 customers found this review helpful. 2 of 5 Faulty middle mouse button Friday, October 21, 2005 A Gamer from Mammoth Lakes, CA
If it weren't for the faulty middle mouse button, I would only have good things to say. I was very disheartened after the installation process when I discovered that the middle mouse button (mouse wheel) would click itself. The problem made the mouse useless. :( If you get this mouse and it seems like the left click isnt working when it should, it is probably from a faulty middle mouse button. I was so pleased with the rest of the features that when I sent it back I asked for a new one. Hopefully my replacement works. The worst part about this situation is that I had to wait for over a month to get a fautly product! /cry Was this review helpful?

I have had this mouse for 2 days now. I upgraded from an old Microsquish mouse. Thus, the ergonomics took me a few good hours to handle properly. Now that I have it down, I’ve gotten to fine-tuning the mouse. Since setpoint (included software) doesn’t take up too much of my system resources, I gave in from my paranoid optimizing mindset and installed it. The added 2 levels of sensitivity on-the-go really helps!
I just spent 9 hours at a LAN party with this mouse. I compared using it to my friends RAZER diamondback, and the G5 is hands-down a better mouse. Not only is it laser and sports a great weight system, but the side button, scroll wheel, and normal buttons are easier to use. On the razer, you have to hold down a side button and scroll the wheel to change sensitivity, and its much easier to use the two buttons on the G5 for this. It’s also easier to see the sensitivity, from the LED lights on the top of the mouse. The razer has an on-screen thing that tells you what sensitivity its at.
The feel of this mouse is amazing. At first, the tactile new grip material on the sides is a bit weird, but after some use is ULTIMATELY better. Very nice new material. The top and buttons are a good matte finish, preventing any slip, even when your hands are greasy. During the LAN, I ran to dairy queen and got some onion rings. When I was still playing, I didn’t notice any difference with my hands all greasy up. Very different from other mice, and quite excellent.
Another great feature is the cord: it’s covered with a woven cloth, improving durability. It also doesn’t hold shape, and thus, never gets tangled up. The weights are a very good feature: getting to customize the exact drag characteristics is WONDERFUL. And very impressive at LANs. I currently find that having five settings is great: 2000, 1350, 1100(great for just windows stuff), 800 and 600. Changing small increments in-game is very handy. Well, changing at all is awesome!
The programmable buttons are sweet. Especially with the tilt wheel. I’ve got left and right for back and forward, and then the usual. And the wheel click really isn’t that bad at all. It just doesn’t have a high pitch in the click, which turns into a psychosocial *whoa! Hard to click!* state of mind. In Word, I have left to backspace, right tilt to save, and the side button to ctrl+z. I never new word would be so easy to use! I really love it! It really makes a big difference. Also, the tracking is great. Very accurate mouse. Ill occasionally just wiggle it around the screen, marveling at its amazingness.
I think I had one downside, but I don’t remember. Just buy the mouse. After a bit of use, you will totally not regret it. Amazing. And newegg got it to me fast! Ordered Sunday night, got it Wednesday. Wonderful with my new PC, bought from newegg…

A little pricey, but even if it costs twice as much as mere mortal mice, its still worth it if you want a good mouse.
Very comfy, the adjustable DPI settings are slick (and so are its coasters). The grip is very nice feeling and the adjustable weight was a good touch. And the spare weights will make good ammo for your sling shot. Was this review helpful?

Just an amazing mouse. Has a perfect feel. Also have a logitech MX518, but this is way way better. Buy this and a Func Suface 1030 mouse pad and it WILL improve your gameplay.
Works well out of the box, but load the logitech driver to fine tune it. Can select any resolution up to 2000 DPI. 1200 DPI worked best for me in most games.
