Logitech X-240 iPod Speaker System - 2.1-channel - Black - 970285-0403 - Amazing Deal!

Overall good sound quality and the ability to have the volume controls and an audio in/ headphones out on the desktop is usefull. The price wasn't too bad when I bought also (had a rebate also at that time).

Great value! Received my speakers today and they are a lot more powerful than they appear. I plugged them into my iPod Touch and the sound is insane for a very small system. There is one downside, they could have made the wires a little more inconspicuous.

Bootom line is, if you are a budget shopper looking for reasonable performance from a reasonably priced set of speakers, this is for you!

I use this speaker system everyday to play songs off the Internet from my computer and I think the sound is very good. I placed the unit on top of the China Cabinet in the dining room and I can hear this unit throught the first floor with good deep base. The base unit has its own volume control so you can control the base independently.

I'm very please with these speakers. For the price you can't bet the value on this speaker system. I replaced my old computer speakers with these and I was very very impressed with the sounds it created. The subwoofer made a world of listening difference. It makes listening to iTune so much more enjoyable but when I plug in my iPod to it, it's even better...the subwoofer bass and two little speakers are awesome. It's almost better than my expensive wall stereo system...If you're looking to improve the sound/music quality from your computer and iPod, don't pass this deal by...

The speakers work very well, and at first glance the price seems great. On the downside the photo is kind of deceptive, it looks like you just hook you iPod up to the stand and you are ready to roll. The photo doesn't show all of the wires that need to be hooked up to the stand and iPod. And, if you need to charge your iPod you still need to buy a charger.I would have paid more if this had the ability to charge my iPod.

When I buy something online for a substantially low price, I always cringe a little, thinking I am making a mistake. This purchase however, was a great deal and I am so pleased with these speakers as a desktop sound system. I highly recommend this logitech product!

I was pleasantly surprised by the size of this speaker system. It is very small which is nice on a desk with limited space. The set-up was easy and only took about five minutes. The iPod connection is a very nice feature too. For a simple system with good sound, this is the perfect product.

For my purposes this purchase has been ideal. I mounted the four components on a 12X24 piece of Starboard and put handles on each end and it is great to move to the pool, the dock, the deck, or wherever needed. The sound quality is certainly acceptable for my application. After the rebate, I have hardly any money invested in the equipment and the return I am getting is great. Friends and neighbors are questioning me a lot about were it came from and how much it cost. I tell them nothing! As a matter of fact, I ordered a second unit for a spare or to take to another property we have. The Ipod is all I will need to carry with me.

The name of this item is VERY MISLEADING - it is NOT a spekaer system for your iPod.MP3 player - it is a COMPUTER SPEAKER SYSTEM that has a stand/hoker for your iPod MP3 player. $20 after rebate for a set of computer speakers with sub-woofer and mp3 player dock... this syetm ranks a solid 3 of 5. The sibwoofer distorts bass at anything higher than mid volume level, but overall, they are acceptable for a desktop system in a small environment or for use with a laptop they'd be great to watch movies, videos or play music. But as as stand alone system to dock your iPod or MP3 player - forget it. The "dock" is little more than a stand that you rest your MP3 player on and the connect it to the spekaers via the headphone jack of the player. It won't charge or power your MP3 player so you have to use the players own charging cable to USB (or wall charger). Ugh - even more wires for the jungle this system creates - and another outlet required. There's no remote, so that's pretty much the nail in the coffin for usefulness as a stand alone speaker system for your MP3 player. Spend more and get the features you really want in a stand alon speaker system for your iPod/MP3 player.

These are pretty good speakers for the average computer user. I'm not over here mixing music professionally or anything like that. This doesn't have kickin bass sound, its kind of muddy if you turn the bass up all the way. The ipod/mp3 connection is great. The only draw back to the whole thing is that all the wires are hard wired. So I had to drill a hole in the back of my desk to run some of them or they would have just laid on the top of the desk and run down the front of the desk and who wants that? If certain components weren't hard wired it would be a little easier to use but now that its set up, I really like it.

For the money this kit is tough to beat- Just having a powered subwoofer brings any MP3 's anemic quality up to par with much larger and expensive speaker systems. It is a little cumbersome to set up and not very portable, but for an in place system adaptable to many different MP3 players at a very low cost there is not much to complain about- I would recommend this product
