I got the G15 about a year ago (actually, a little over a year, just enough so the warranty is expired). I don't use it for gaming, though. I have some arthritis in my hands and wrists, and I found the G15 to be very easy on my hands. I also enjoyed the back-lit keys, and the programmable keys. So I was pretty easy on it: no crazy hammering on the keys in the middle of the night and so forth. I absolutely loved this keyboard when it worked, which became less and less of the time as the months wore on. I probably sold several by telling friends about it. HOWEVER, it failed a couple of times, and finally, this last time, it seems to be determined to stay dead. I am a hardware engineer and former tech, so I was able to get it to work when it failed before which turned out to be connector problems, but this failure is different: some of the keys, such as T,L,6,[, etc. simply stopped working. I will try to fix it again, but since it is out of warranty, and since the problem is probably in the hardware itself (chips, etc.), I am not optimistic about the outcome. If Logitech products were more rugged (this is my third Logitech keyboard which has failed about a year later! And they aren't cheap!), I wouldn't look at anything else. But, as I sit here writing a review of my G15, using a Microsoft keyboard, I've decided enough is enough. I won't be replacing the G15 with another logitech kb. They are just too fragile. I admit that I like them very much but that doesn't mean a lot when they keep failing! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 FAN FREAKIN TASTICK Tuesday, February 26, 2008 A Customer from Austin, TX
I have had this keyboard for well over a year. I bought it for gaming but use it for so much more. I use the "G" keys for everything from creating email, importing text, vidieo editing, creating CD's and DVD's, traversing thru and too common or offten visited web sites, and of course gaming. I love the backlite blue led lights and the finish. A great tool for computing. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Awesome... if it doesn't break the bank Tuesday, November 27, 2007 Billy O'Neal from Northfield, Ohio
This is simply the best keyboard I've ever used. Maybe it is because I've never used a "nice" keyboard. Before I got this monster I had a cheapo Dell keyboard. The backlighting is really helpful. Also, the 18 G Keys are unbelievably useful for foreign language classes, because they can be set to accented characters with the macros available. Finally, the fine folks at LcdStudio provide all the customization for the display that you could ever ask for. Note that my first one came with a broken button, but Logitech had no problem sending me a replacement. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Saturday, October 20, 2007 Gabe Renfro from Aurora, CO.
I have the G-11 Gaming keyboard, but they are essentially the same thing. this keyboard is great! the only issue i have is that the 2 USB ports cant supply enough power to even power a simple flash drive. but overall its an awesome keyboard. Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 If you want response time for gamers Wednesday, October 17, 2007 A Customer from Charlotte, NC
I had the Logitech G15 keyboard with the heads up display. Very nice keyboard, but if you start having problems with it, dump it quick and get another. The Macro keys are nice indeed, the HUD is awsome, but I finally moved on to a Razor Tarantual.
The Razor has a much faster response (OMG the difference is un-believable), in games such as World of Warcraft, the Tarantual is so much better, I can move faster, I can dodge, I can actually use my rogue now. The biggest downfall for me with the logitech would be the response time on it. I really expected this one to be much more responsive then it is. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 A great gaming keyboard! Tuesday, October 02, 2007 A Customer from Burnsville, MN
I was looking for a backlit keyboard to play in the dark and this works great!
have had a little trouble programming the "G" keys but not a big issue.
I like seeing how much the system is utilized on different games on the LCD screen.
Buy.Com shipped it quick and it was easy to track. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Another Great Product From Logitech Sunday, September 30, 2007 J-reemy from Ballinger, TX
From the ease of setup to the broadness of its compatability, this keyboard certainly defines what a gaming keyboard should be. Thusfar I have had no problems and I will most certainly buy Logitech products again. If you are a gamer, I most certainly recommend this keyboard. Even if you aren't a gamer, this keyboard has so many great features, it is hard to go wrong.
Five Stars, all the way. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Logitech G15 review Friday, September 28, 2007 A Customer from Belleville, WI
I have now used this new keyboard for a few weeks and I do like it esoecially for the price I paid but here are my good points & bad.
Good: Lighted keys, many keys to set as options, lcd display.
Bad: Keyboard sits too flat for me even with the legs in back extended, this is my biggest gripe. I will craft something to give it more tilt someday. Volume knob needs something to grip for spinning as it is too flat. LCD display always shows a high number of unopened e-mails (I use Vista Home Premium version) and haven't got an answer for that yet. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Purchase Tuesday, September 25, 2007 Hajimoto from MA
I am a serious gamer and put off buying this keyboard for a long time. I am so glad that I finally grabbed this keyboard. The fuction of the LCD adds so much to my game titles and the LCD allows me to see who is in my Teamspeak channel without alt-tabbing. Sweet piece of hardware. It would be absolutely perfect it it were ergonomic. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 The G15 Gaming Keyboard is Great!!!! Tuesday, September 25, 2007 A Customer from Toney, Alabama
This keyboard does everything I need, LCD information for CPU, media, clock, and even game information. It has a large bank of programmable macro keys. The keys are lit up for night gaming and are spaced comfortably for long use. The media controls are nice for in game volume control as well. The only cons I have is that the extra USB ports on the keyboard cannot provide enough power for a thumb drive, but is probably OK for an externally powered USB device. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 (almost) Couldn't Be Happier Tuesday, September 25, 2007 A Customer from Guerneville, CA
I would say this is the greatest thing since sliced bread, but, really, sliced bread is overrated. Seriously, the only ding I gave it is because the LCD controls are cumbersome to say the least. I haven't used this in any of the games which support the LCD screen, and I often use the LCD for either performance monitoring or media info (from itunes). But the on-the-fly macros for the extra keys? Awesome. I do a lot of podcast editing in Cubase, and being able to assign functions to those extra keys has EASILY paid for the keyboard in time saved. Honestly, if you're on the fence between the G11 (LCD-less) or the G15, I'd probably say G11. I don't regret the G15, but the LCD is much more icing than cake. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard Tuesday, September 25, 2007 A Customer from Lansing, Michigan
I love this keyboard, I use it for gaming and work. I am an application developer and I use this keyboard a lot, around 16+ hours a day between work and gaming. Great LCD display for up to date information and love the programmable keys. Was this review helpful?

G15 has just a regular keyboard layout. Macro keys should be on both sides, but Logitech's hardly ever made devices to be used ambidextrous. Arrow keys could be closer to the numeric keypad. Key press is somewhat deep, like a regular keyboard; it should be shallower for quicker response. Also, Num Lock key should be away from the key pad area, so it's not pressed accidentally during gaming (I just took the Num Lock key out altogether). Was this review helpful?

If you gamers don't buy anything else, buy this product today before you make any other purchase. It is awesome!! It has a lighted keyboard for playing at night in the dark or low light rooms. I have spent many nights cursing my old keyboard because I got my fingers on wrong baseline. It makes a lot of difference in a game whether you go forward, backward or jump. It has so many programmable keys and buttons you will go nuts. I promise you will not be sorry that you bought this and no way will you want to send it back. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 I never knew there was a difference in keyboards.. Wednesday, December 27, 2006 A Customer from Boston, MA
This keyboard is just perfect. I play an MMO, and have always found Nostramo to be too much of a PITA to use, especially being left handed. This keyboard lets you create 18 X 3= 36 Macro'd buttons, it has an LCD panel, that if you go to www.ventrilo.com you can download an add on and the LCD will let you see who is talking in Ventrilo, the illuminated keys work fine in the dark, however I didn't like the deception of the advertising that says it has "Three settings". If it is on the "off" setting, you can't see what keys you are typing, and there is a "Dim" setting that is pointless, as you can't really see the keys that well, and you have the "Bright" setting which is what will need to be on all the time. But that is really nitpicking on the first keyboard that i've ever owned that I've actually loved. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Great Functionality Saturday, November 04, 2006 A Customer from Boston, MA
As usual Logitech products deliver bang for the buck. Keys are backlight in blue, making it easier to use in a darkened room for night time gaming. Keys have a nice soft but solid touch and are responsive for those fast gaming keystrokes....I use it for HL2. Have not programmed any of the added G function keys as their on the far left side of the board. LED display is a nice bonus. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Love it Friday, November 03, 2006 A Customer from Houston, TX
I already have one of these and purchased two more for gifts. I can suggest it to everyone! its a great keyboard. The keys illuminate beautifully and the macros, apps you can get, or create makes it unbeatable thus far. I use this for City of Heroes, Everyquest2 etc... they even have templates you can download, print and cut out for the macro keys. A++ product. I've seen a few reviews were some mentioned the paint rubs off the keys. I never ran into this problem,maybe the acid in his sweat? I heard Logitech will replace it if that happens. (I love customer service like that).
Some apps I use: CPU/Mem Monitoring (understands multiproc)
Email accout monitorting, team speak app, clock/date etc.. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Got a great Deal! Friday, October 13, 2006 Marcus from Austin, TX
I was given a great deal by buying this G15 with the G7 laser mouse. The combination is awesome. The keyboard works well with WoW and the macro keys on the left hand side add a lot of value. I will also say that the keyboard sits on top of the desk so that I may see the LCD screen, but i do not think it adds that much value. It is nice for PvP as it keeps you up to date, but you are really busy looking at your monitor anyways. The LCD can also tell you the status on your e-mail which I do like though.
I say it is very nice to the touch and the backlit keys make it nice in the dark.
Have fun gaming with this one. I do not play first person shoot them up games, but for WoW I really have enjoyed it. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 This keyboard is excellent Tuesday, October 10, 2006 A Customer from Richland, Pa
I have been searching for a keyboard that I really liked for a long time. This keyboard is the best. i can finally play games in a low lit room. The special keys were easy to set up. It is also very comfortable to use. I was using a split keyboard but I have had no discomfort with this one. I highly recommend this. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Logitech's top-end products are superb Tuesday, October 03, 2006 D.K. from Seattle, WA
I recently purchased the Logitech G15 keyboard and it's the best quality keyboard I've ever owned. I'm a software developer and a gamer so I tend to get a new computer about once a year to keep up with technology. I'm almost never happy with the keyboards that come with my computers so I've purchased many keyboards by all the top manufacturers. The G15 has a solid, precision feel that by itself places it ahead of any other keyboard I've ever owned. Add to this, the 18 multi-mode macro keys, the awesome blue lighting and the cool display panel and it's not even close - nothing touches the G15 at the top end of the market. I also use the Logitech G7 mouse and a Logitech Rumble Pad for online 3D gaming and the combination provides a huge advantage over players using generic equipment. Clearly Logitech has decided to take over the top-end of the gaming market and these products are in a class by themselves. They're expensive but well worth it if you are serious about winning - especially if you can get them on sale. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Not just for gamers Thursday, September 14, 2006 Dave from Coral Springs, FL
I love this keyboard! I am not much of a gamer anymore but the backlit kays and LCD display ads a new convience. The macro keys are great for launching programs or filling in web forms with one key. Only down fall is Logitech should have made available on the display what the macro keys are programed for. With so many keys my memory is not what it used to be. I strongly recommend this keyboard for anyone, plus it looks really cool on you desktop and will sure to be noticed. Was this review helpful?

Having been a 10 year veteran of Gateway Computer's AnyKey keyboard (which allows you to record macros and remap keys on the fly) I have found the G15 to be an outstanding replacement!
<P>
I recently got a new laptop for my day job which does not have a PS/2 keyboard connector and the USB converter i tried from RadioShack didn't quite work (repeated some letters as if they were stuck) I decided it was time to retire my old keyboard and shop for a new one that was USB native and reasonably priced and, of course, had the ability to create macros on the fly.
<P>
So far the keyboard is exceeding my expectations! For my business applications it works flawlessly, it was a breeze to set up and the 54 macro keys is more than enough for my day to day "power user" type needs. The keys are comfortable, not too loud or too quiet, and unlike another reviewer, i don't think they're mushy.
<P>
Only issue i ran into so far was trying to use my AC powered wireless optical mouse (receiver includes recharging station) with the auxiliary USB port - when i plug it in the entire keyboard goes dark and apparently inoperable. I presume it needs more power than it can get from the keyboard. A regular wired optical mouse seems to work just fine. I wish the Logitech site had more info about these ports on their web site...
<P>
Lastly, i love the LCD screen with the date and time and simple switch to see the Performance Monitor - I always seem to forget what the date is and there is no missing it on the LCD!
<P>
Only improvements i can think to recommend to Logitech:<BR>
- make the USB ports 2.0 compatible and true USB hub type power level (so my preferred mouse would work in it or other power hungry devices)<BR>
- add in MS Office capabilities for the LCD screen (and Windows Media Player!) with soft-key functions<BR>
- offer a convenience button which would pop-up (and remove) on demand the Profiler so I can reference what is mapped to each Gkey (without having to print out a cheat sheet). (I know, I could use a Gkey for creating a shortcut!)
<P>
In summary: this is one quality keyboard from a great brand you can trust, whether it be for business or gaming – it simply ROCKS!!! Was this review helpful?
