1 of 5 utterly useless on a mac Wednesday, August 06, 2008 A Customer from Canada
Logitech advertises this as a mac supported item, but it is simply not the case. There is no mac software for any logitech gaming devices, rendering them utterly useless.
The logitech website itself recommends third party software, or contacting apple... Basically shifting all responsibility for their oversight to other people.
If you own a mac, buy something other than logitech, or you are just wasting your money. Was this review helpful?

3 of 5 Works as advertised Saturday, April 26, 2008 A Customer from Jacksonville, FL
The control works fine (only used it for 3 weeks so I can't comment on the durability concerns but for under $20, I'm not concerned). Setup was easy and programming the plethora of buttons is straight forward.
I bought this controller to use with MAME (classic arcade video game emulator on PC). While it works adequately, the analogue joysticks aren't the easiest to control. For example, on maze games like Ms PacMan, it can be difficult to always get the direction set perfectly when making turns.
Overall though, the controller works as advertised. If you're serious about having high quality game controllers with joysticks (for games like Robotron 2084), you're probably better off exploring higher priced options like the $200 X-Arcade Tankstick. Was this review helpful?
2 of 2 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 It works and I didn't pay too much! Friday, September 03, 2004 Erik from Chicago, IL
It's the PC version of the Playstation gamepad, and it works well, especially with EA Sports games that for some reason are optimized for this controller. I can now play MVP Baseball 2004 without using some crazy half-gamepad/half-keyboard control setup. Or all keyboard for that matter. Anyway, it comes with emulation software to map buttons to certain keystrokes, but I didn't install it. Microsoft Sidewinder was the first to do that I think, and I tried it and it just annoyed me. I like to have as few "system bar" icons as possible, and you don't really need the emulator stuff unless you're playing games that aren't made for the gamepad. That's not me. So, if you want a controller that's just like the Playstation one, and don't want to fork over twice as much for the rumble version, get this! Oh yeah, way to go buy.com on pricing! This controller is 19.99 elsewhere, and here was 16 something. Nice! Was this review helpful?
