5 of 5 Amazing kit, while pricy Thursday, August 14, 2008 A Customer from Denver, CO
Amazing mouse+keyboard kit. Working distance is amazing. I can use it from 2nd floor to control the pc downstairs. The mouse battery life is some short compared with the keyboard. And the price is a little high. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Actually works Tuesday, August 12, 2008 A Customer from UT
Using the keyboard and mouse with a different blue tooth adapter which is much smaller then the one provided. Works fine but did take a couple of extra steps to get the keyboard recognized. No lag on the mouse (but I am not a gamer) and only a very occasional lag of about 1/2 a second if the keyboard has not been used in awhile. Very happy with this keyboard/mouse. Should work fine if you have a built in Bluetooth in your laptop, just make sure the built in is running when you install the Logitech software. The SW allows customization of the mouse and keyboard buttons functions by program in use if desired. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Great Product Wednesday, July 16, 2008 Bob from Akron, OH
I have been searching for just the right wireless keyboard and mouse combo for a long time and, I think I finally found it. Setup was a breeze, everything works flawlessly, and on top of all that it is very stylish also. The only negatives I can say is that I wish the mouse was for left-handers and the price is a little steep. But, overall it is worth it. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 versatile, comfortable keyboard/mouse Tuesday, July 08, 2008 A Customer from Littleton, CO
We have a number of Logitech keyboard/mouse combos in our office, including 2 MX 5000 Revolution bluetooth models. I have been cautious about buying this new 5500 model, based on connectivity problems with the previous version. However, so far, the bluetooth connection has been reliable. The mouse, as before, is very comfortable and useful. The keyboard is what appears new about this combo model. It has a more fluid feel; it is quieter, but with a precise typing response; in short, I like this keyboard a lot (and much more than its predecessor). Was this review helpful?

4 of 5 Okay but... Saturday, June 28, 2008 flylow from Olympia, WA
Sometimes when I have left my computer on all night it must lose the connection and I have to hit the reset button on the computer. Currently using it on a p4 Northwood box, upgrading soon, and the hot key to power up the computer using the keyboard doesn't work through bluetooth. The soft touch keys are a bit pickier for my hunt peck style, noticed that if you do not hit the keys quite hard enough you might have missing letters at times. All in all I prefer my old Logitech 3100 combo for everyday use, I honestly do not think I would shell out the extra $ for the Revolution again but all in all it is not a bad keyboard/mouse combo at all. It is just that I am a bit picky... Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great mouse/keyboard combo! Monday, June 23, 2008 Justen from Castle Rock, CO
This is a great mouse/keyboard combo that I would definitely buy again for the price. Like previous reviews have stated, the keyboard is good, but not all that special and I actually preferred the keyboard from the Wave set that I returned (I didn't like the mouse that came with that set) to this one. However, the mouse is outstanding and well worth the money. If you can't get this combo for under $100 then I'd buy the mouse separately and pick a better keyboard. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Best computer accessory purchase in years Monday, June 23, 2008 Kevin from San Antonio, TX
Pros: sleek, good performance, great range
Cons: slightly expensive, on-keyboard display hard to read
Bottom Line: if you need bluetooth range, you won't find a better combo for the price
I've beeen looking for a keyboard and mouse combo to go with my HP laptop. I set up my plasma TV as an external display so I can watch videos, surf the net, email etc. from my couch. That pretty much meant I needed a Bluetooth set and I opted to go with the MX 5500, hoping it would be a good balance between price and performance. It is exactly that and more.
Setup was easy. If you can read and follow the instructions, you should have no trouble. The software suite is very intuitive and I like that it gives you a battery status if you mouse over the taskbar icon. I type and move the mouse from 15 feet away and there is no delay. I even tried playing Call of Duty 4 and found the performance to be more than adequate. I have noticed that the connection suffers a bit if you're trying to go through a wall, cabinet door, etc. but that is to be expected with Bluetooth. A couple of times bringing the computer out of sleep mode the keyboard or mouse didn't detect, but unplugging and replacing the USB dongle fixed that quickly.
As for design, the keyboard is sleek has plenty of function keys, some you'll use often and others not so much. The zoom keys are especially handy if you're using a TV monitor because sometimes you need to enlarge a webpage to be able to read it clearly. The keys feel fine, much like your standard desktop keyboard. The on-board display shows the time, temperature and other information, although it is very dim and difficult to see without plenty of light. The 4 AA batteries last a VERY long time.
The mouse is amazing! It feels great in your hand, is extremely precise and has plenty of functions for viewing and navigating, even a shortcut to your favorite search engine--just highlight and click the search button! The battery lasts nearly the supposed 15 days for me and recharge time is quick, just a couple hours. The only drawback is that you can't use the mouse while charging.
Overall: this keyboard/mouse combo is a fantastic purchase. It is expensive compared to a basic keyboard and mouse, but gives you outstanding wireless freedom without sacrificing comfort or performance. Add in a few unique fancy features and a standard 3-year warranty, and you have a superior product that will not disappoint. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Decent product - lousy tech support Sunday, May 11, 2008 A Customer from West Palm Beach, FL
Right out of the box it connected. Then, I installed the software and 1/2 way through, it disconnected the keyboard & mouse. After 95 minutes and 3 separate calls to tech support they advised 2nd level support would contact me on day we decided on (after downloading and installing 2 other versions of the software). I received email advising they would contact me and then an email that said since I had not contacted them, they considered it "solved".
I wrote back and they responded by opening another trouble ticket and advising me what I needed to do. Why does the customer need to work so hard at making the product work the way it was supposedly intended? Stay away from this product!!! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Love it Saturday, May 10, 2008 A Customer from Santa Barbara, CA
Great mouse and keyboard. My wife usually doesn't care about the tech I buy, but loves the Revolution. Really likes the feel of the keyboard as well. Not sure why people complain about the LED. In really low light it is difficult to read, but it is really hard to read an LED that doesn't exist and at least this has one. Fairly useful as well. But what I didn't know from reading the reviews is that you can change the contrast - light on dark or dark on light. One might be easier to read than the other though I find them about the same. Overall a great combination. Was this review helpful?

Over the years I have used Logitech keyboards & mice & have found that they are reliable equipement, the recent purchase that I made from Buy.com for the Logitech MX 5500 Keyboard & Mouse Combo was an excellent choice on my part, it is head & shoulders above any that I have had though the years...this is my first purchase though Buy.com & it has proven to be the best thing that I have done in a long time, the buying of the item went fast & smooth, even the delivery of the item was fast & timely...in reguards to Buy.com, a couple of days ago one of my friends wanted to buy the Logitech MX 5500 Revolution Keyboard & Mouse Combo & I again went to Buy.com but the item was no longer available for purchase though Buy.com, it really disappointed me & my friend & it would have been his first purchase from Buy.com but more importantly it was his first look at Buy.com & with the item no longer being available for purchase, it sorta made him feel that it would be a waste of time checking with Buy.com to purchase things he needed because he could be using the time better looking at places he knew the item would be on their web site for purchase...like I told him, I had a great experience with my first purchase though Buy.com...will be looking on Buy.com for more thing that I want to buy.... 5 of 5 Stable product with many good features Wednesday, April 30, 2008 A Customer from Norwich, CT
Another great prodcut from Logitech, many nice features. Bluetooth is very good for connectivity. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Fancy keyboard, may be expensive Saturday, April 19, 2008 Jaron from San Francisco, CA
I am satisfied by the price I got the set for after rebate, wouldn't pay full price for it. The keyboard is very light and keystrokes are the very smooth (not good for those who like the clicking sound of each key, there is none). I had problems syncing the lcd display to my computer (fixed by removing the batteries to reset). The display is fun, but not that necessary unless you intend you use it as a giant media remote control.
The mouse is incredible, smooth and sleek. The side rocker button (looks like a wheel though it's actually just up, down and press) is very useful and programmable for individual programs (as well as other several buttons).
The software, SetPoint, is useful but lacking in options. I highly suggest installing UberOptions over the logitech software for added usability, http://www.mstar.net/users/rlowens/
I also like the ease of transfer between computer by just moving the usb bluetooth device. Overall I would suggest this keyboard to anyone who doesn't mind the price. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Outstanding keyboard/mouse combination Tuesday, April 08, 2008 Dave from Palm Bay, FL
This was actually my second attempt at a wireless keyboard/mouse combo. The first was Microsofts Wireless Entertainment Desktop 7000. I wasn't satisfied (keyboard layout) with the MS 7000 so I decided to go with the Logitech MX 5500. To date, I have no issues with with this combo. Functionality is outstanding. Wireless range is outstanding. The combo is loaded with features and capabilities and can be reconfigured easily to suit your needs/quirks. Only issue that got me was that I paid $150 for it from Buy.com only to see it on sell (with $40 rebate) for $92. Oh well, it was still worth it. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Best Logitech I have had Monday, March 31, 2008 A Customer from West Olive, Mi.
I have had several Logitech combo's and to date this is the best one I have had. Very happy with the set up and how it works after it was all installed.
Directions and setup instructions leave something to be desired, but a quick search of the web I was able to get tips from others that had the same questions.
Kind of pricey, but overall very happy. Was this review helpful?
