The Wireless-G WRT54GX2 Broadband Router with SRX200 combines smart antenna technology with standards based Wireless-G (IEEE 802.11g) networking. By overlaying the signals of two Wireless-G compatible radios, the "Multiple In, Multiple Out" (MIMO) technology effectively doubles the data rate. Unlike ordinary wireless networking technologies that are confused by signal reflections, MIMO actually uses these reflections to increase the range and reduce "dead spots" in the wireless coverage area. The robust signal travels farther, maintaining wireless connections up to twice as far as standard Wireless-G.

5 of 5 Addendum To Previous Review Sunday, September 30, 2007
Lewis Edge from Princeton, NJ
Anyone who writes that this router does not accommodate fixed IP addresses is mistaken. The fixed IP addresses are below and above the DHCP addresses. If you use the router's default settings they are: 192.168.1.2 through 192.168.1.99 and any address in the router's range above 192.168.1.160

5 of 5 Good all purpose router. Tuesday, September 25, 2007
John D. from Raleigh, NC
I mainly got this Linksys wireless router becuase of the dual antennas to replace a dell router with only one antenna. It does its job well and I have no problems with crashing or rebooting it. I let it run 24 hours a day and I have no issues with it. I would recommend this product and purchase one again.

5 of 5 Greate Wireless router Tuesday, September 25, 2007
BN from Mobile, AL
I had heard about several horror stories related to installing a wireless router. So I researched for several hours before deciding to buy this router. Installing is very easy. I had expected a huge learning curve setting up the router, but it turned out to be really easy. Just follow the directions as in the instruction sheet and everything works like a charm. Setting up the security was also pretty easy. Since it is not wizard driven it may be a bit difficult for people who do have much IT experience. I have got great download speeds working as far as 35 feet with three-four walls in between.

5 of 5 Great coverage Tuesday, September 25, 2007
A Customer from Delray Beach, Florida
Installed the router in a fairly large home where the router and computer were on opposite ends of house. I received a 80-100% signal level. It was an easy install. The rebate will make it even nicer.

5 of 5 Solid Tuesday, August 14, 2007
A Customer from KC MO
I've been using this router at home for about a month now. It has been connected steadily all of that time with 3 wired connections and two laptops running at the same time. Connection has been good enough to play video on my laptop from my wired Tivo in the basement. I bought this router with the $35 rebate, so net cost was cheaper than Linksys routers without SRX200.

3 of 5 Okey for home users but not for network experts Tuesday, August 14, 2007
A Customer from San Jose, CA
I had a Netgear wireless AP for few years. Just think to replace it for a better coverage range. It really improve the range. But, the features of this Linksys AP are very limited. It doesn't provide the feature to send log to my e-mail. Neither, it doesn't provide the fixed IP for DHCP client. I use this feature to fix my network printer IP. Therefore, I still need to keep my old Netgear AP and use this Linksys AP for my second ADSL line. So, it's okey for most home users. But, not recommend for network experts.

4 of 5 Upgrade FIRMWARE now if you purchase it Sunday, August 12, 2007
Nick from Madison, Wisconsin
This is a great router once you upgrade the firmware. The firmware that ships with this router sucks and the router cannot stay up for more than a few days. Once you upgrade the firmware it can stay up for weeks. Hope this helps someone having troubles with it.

5 of 5 Easy to use, great reliability Sunday, August 12, 2007
A Customer from Boston, MA
After having a netgear router that kept cutting out too frequently, I bought this router based on reviews here and elsewhere and the reasonable price. The router was very easy to set up and worked right away. As of yet, it has worked flawlessly, has a great signal throughout our apartment and outside (although I haven't really tested the range). The only complaint is that the router itself makes a high pitched noise which can be somewhat bothersome if you are right near it, but it hasn't bothered me too much. Overall, I am very satisfied and would recommend this to anyone in the market for a wireless router

5 of 5 Better Wi-Fi Signal Strength Wednesday, October 04, 2006
Lewis Edge from Princeton, NJ USA
After installing several of these routers for family and friends, I have found that this model provides significantly better coverage, speed and signal strength than routers without SRX. Although this model sells for about twice as much as standard LinkSys Wireless G routers, it is definitely a good choice for locations where distance, interference and obstacles may diminish the signal from a standard router. Be forewarned that some Motorola DSL modems have the same IP address as the default address of this router. Therefore, if you are connecting this router to a Motorola DSL modem, you should use your Web browser to change the default address of this router BEFORE plugging it into the modem. Otherwise nothing will work and you'll need to reset the router before it'll function again. Changing the last number in the router's IP address from a 1 to a 2 will do the trick and prevent everything from locking up.
