| | | | The Linksys Compact Wireless-G Broadband Router is really three devices in one small box. First, there''s the Wireless Access Point, which lets you connect both screaming fast Wireless-G (802.11g at 54Mbps) and Wireless-B (802.11b at 11Mbps) devices to the network. There''s also a built-in 4-port full-duplex 10/100 Switch to connect your wired-Ethernet devices together. Connect four PCs directly, or attach more hubs and switches to create as big a network as you need. Finally, the Router function ties it all together and lets your whole network share a high-speed cable or DSL Internet connection. Once your computers are connected to the Router and the Internet, they can communicate with each other too, sharing a printer, digital music, picture and document files, and multiplayer or on-line games.

4 of 5 works with mac OS X Monday, January 14, 2008 A Customer from montgomery, al
it took a couple of hours to get set up with a mac, but is working well. after i found a page from the "university of wisconsin help desk knowledgebase" to get it configured for OS X, the set up was pretty easy. it is being used as a wired router with intentions of converting to wireless in the future. 4 of 5 Great form factor, needs better antenna Thursday, January 10, 2008 EcoTony from San Diego
Easy to get up and running. Had a bit of trouble getting my iPhone to connect with the router once I had enabled security. After switching to higher security level, all was well. Nice user interface/software. Easy setup with the wizard.
Range is limited, and it has difficulty getting strong signals through walls. An external antenna will be my next purchase. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Best Linksys Router for the dollar Saturday, December 29, 2007 Don D. from Chicago, IL
Excellent price for great performance! This compact router is very reliable, performs to it's specs, and is great at home and on the road.
I recommend this router over the traditional linksys "blue" routers for all uses.
Great for gifts as well! Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Great product !!! Tuesday, March 27, 2007 A Customer from San Marcos, CA
This product was everything that was promised...compact and very easy to use. We used it in our hotel room, where they only provided wired internet access, enough for one computer. With this router, we had wireless access for both laptops within minutes... The size makes it easy to take on trips. Great product at a great price !!!! Was this review helpful?

Awesome unit, good range(with or without antenna), and feature packed. It has great up-time, and it does great on port forwarding. It's very small, about the size of the PAP2 phone adapter for vonage (they sit very well next to eachother). It also has a built in static DHCP provider, which is great for those of you with laptops that need ports forwarded, but don't want to change your ip address to static for it to always work. Also handles alot of traffic very well. Was this review helpful?

This router gets 5 stars from a computer dummy. It's easy to set up, & the range is fine - I use it all over the house with perfect results. It's small, attractive, and works great! Was this review helpful?
2 of 3 customers found this review helpful. 2 of 5 very poor range Wednesday, April 05, 2006 A Customer from Houston, TX
The setup for this unit is fairly simple. My main complaint is the very poor range. Typically I have to use this product 10 feet away with line of sight to get an excellent signal (and it works well). Usage in the next room 20 feet away (no walls) yields an intermitant, low signal with 5.5mbps to 1.0 mbps transfer rates. If range is an issue, avoid this model. Was this review helpful?
5 of 6 customers found this review helpful. 1 of 5 Avoid for DSL use Sunday, March 26, 2006 Raymond from Newport Beach, CA
Very small footprint. Excellent design for CABLE MODEM USERS.
Here's why. If you are using your DSL modem in bridge mode *you know who you are), then you will need your router to handle the authentication for you.
YOU WON'T BELIEVE THIS PART:
The username / password text boxes are limited to 15 characters each if your username (most likely your email address) is "joey_lunchbucket@sbcglobal.net", that is 15 characters more than the text box will allow.
No authenication possible unless your email address is shorter than 15 chars.
Other than that it seems like a great little unit. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Simplicity is the best beauty! Friday, March 10, 2006 Mohan from Kansas City, Missouri
It took not more than 4 minutes to setup this router.
Simple, Sleek & Stylish.
You can count on CISCO for excellent network performance.
The wireless option is enabled by default in the router, so no
hassles of configuring it manually.
Built-in antenna seems to be perfect.
Note: This router has a port for external antenna which has to be bought seperately. I don't think anybody would buy an external antenna, unless they want to get online really from a remote & private place, lol.
You can configure the router thru wireless access too i.e router need not be connected to your system physically to setup.
Guys, this router is really worth the price. Was this review helpful?

Linksys does not let me down another high quality product from them. I am useing without antenna in a house and range without any signal loss is about 60 feet. That's good for this place. Easy setup, very nice produce. Would buy again. Was this review helpful?
