| | | The Ultra RangePlus Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Network Adapter is the simple way to add or upgrade wireless connectivity in your desktop or notebook computer. Just plug it into your computer's USB port and enjoy incredible high-speed wireless network access.
The Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Network Adapter uses the very latest wireless networking technology, Wireless-N (draft 802.11n). By overlaying the signals of multiple radios for each band, Wireless-N's "Multiple In, Multiple Out" (MIMO) technology multiplies the effective data rate. Unlike ordinary wireless networking technologies that are confused by signal reflections, MIMO actually uses these reflections to increase the range and reduce "dead spots" in the wireless coverage area. The robust signal travels farther, maintaining wireless connections much farther than standard Wireless-G. And with Wireless-N, the farther away you are, the more speed advantage you get. It works great with standard Wireless-G, -A, and -B equipment, but when both ends of the wireless link are Wireless-N, the throughput can be increased even more by using twice as much radio band.
Dual-band wireless networks operate in both the 2.4 and 5 gigahertz radio bands at the same time, effectively doubling the available wireless bandwidth. For instance, you could set up your network to handle video streaming on one radio band, and use the other band for simultaneous data transfers -- avoiding any interference or collisions that would degrade the video performance. The Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Network Adapter allows you to connect using whichever band works the best for your situation.
To help protect your data and privacy, your wireless connection is protected by industrial-strength encryption. The included Setup Wizard will walk you through configuring the adapter to your network's settings, step by step.
The incredible speed of Wireless-N makes it ideal for media-centric applications like streaming video, gaming, and Voice over IP telephony, and gives you plenty of headroom to run multiple media-intense data streams through the network at the same time, with no degradation in performance. Get your computer connected to either band of Wireless-N, as well as Wireless-G, Wireless-A, and Wireless-B networks with the Ultra RangePlus Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Network Adapter from Linksys.

5 of 5 Great gadget! Tuesday, April 07, 2009 Tom Trenchard from Covington, LA
This solved a problem that I had with a bad network port on my older desktop PC. Quick to arrive, easy to install, and works like a champ with really high speed! Now, my bad network port is no longer an issue, since this handy USB device is a better substitute. Recommended device.

5 of 5 Very Happy Monday, March 16, 2009 A Customer from Reston, VA
I had trouble getting a similar NetGear device to work on my Vista system. This one was up and running in minutes and has worked perfectly since. It also looks good on my desktop sitting in the provided stand (better than the velcro on the wall with NetGear). As always, Buy.com got it to me quickly! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Wanderful product Wednesday, February 18, 2009 Armin Jamshidi from Abingdon, MD
This is a great product from Linksys. I love Linksys products; however, this is my first wireless router, I am using this product to connect my Playstation 3 system to it and to my computer wirelessly. It works great with Windows Vista 64 bit system with no problems. I am glade that I picked this adopter in the first place, because Linksys is known for there great poduct. This product gives me great signal strangth to my Playstation 3 system and my newly custome made desktop computer; enfact, it give a faster download than connecting my cable modem directly to my computer. I also have the WRT610N router, but but that from Dell. I love the Buy.com's shipping, they ship out their products very fast and I will get them in two business days. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 best I've ever used! Thursday, February 12, 2009 Gia Camilleri from Cresskill, NJ
Before I purchased this USB adapter I tried using the *G* version, which is silver and that 1 was very weak and it didnt last me more than a few months. But this *N* USB adapter makes you feel like ur right next to the modem even though you're a couple floors beneath it! Also, it is very easy to set up, all u have to do is put in the cd, and click next a few times, it doesnt ask u any confusing questions like some other models. I give it 5 stars. I set this up to be used on multiple computers in just several minutes. There were no problems. It worked great. Make sure to run the CD first. The router is in the basement . This works great on the second floor at the other end of the house. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Great wireless adapter! Thursday, January 01, 2009 Dawn from Melbourne Beach, FL
I had put off upgrading my 3 Linksys wireless 54G adapters since they still worked with my new Linksys WUSB600N Router (mainly because of cost). But I finally spent the money for these 3 new Linksys Wireless N network adapters (I have 4 computers in my house). They are extremely easy to set up and use, and it takes the load off running the 2.4 GHz frequency only. I can now take advantage of the 5GHz frequency. Besides 4 computers, I have 2 XBOX 360s running live off from Microsoft 2.4GHz adapters. Spreading the use between 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz has really improved connection/signal strength and performance in my house. Remember to remove your current adapter(s) from your computer(s)' programs first (add/remove Programs), next load the Linksys install CD for the N Adapter(s), and lastly plug in the N adapter(s) to the USB port. The included USB adapter base is very handy. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 one of the best Monday, December 29, 2008 Bruce from Cordova, Alabama
I bought this router adapter to go along with the dual band linksys router and it is amazingly fast and have no dead spots at all in my house and it is over 2300 square foot. This is one of the best I have seen espically for the price. I would defiantly check this one out if you want great response time in you wireless surfing. Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 Easy to install, functional device Friday, December 26, 2008 Fred from Houston, TX
Installation was a snap, ignore the instructions and plug it in first then pop in the cd when Windows asks for the driver. Doing this avoids installing the large client Linksys attempts to install.
As for speed I'm disappointed. I replaced a USB G card and expected higher connection speeds to take advantage of a N network. I'm getting roughly the same connection speed as the off brand G adapter I replaced. I'd recommend getting an internal card if high speed is your goal.
Since this is a USB device, you have the added bonus of easy installation and the ability to move from machine to machine as needed. Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 Not worth it Wednesday, December 24, 2008 Fred from Houston, TX
Poor reception and not a noticeable increase in speed. I upgraded from a USB G adapter and didn't notice a difference. I'd recommend going with an internal card which can give more power to the adapter. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Simple to install and it works. Friday, December 05, 2008 Dave from Grosse Pointe, MI
I took the advice of many and only loaded the driver from the CD-ROM and used the Windows XP utility to connect to our home router and I had everything working in under 3 minutes. The PC is on the first floor, our router is on the 2nd floor...connection has been up for well over a week with ZERO issues and the speed is good...with only minor hiccups when viewing streaming video.
We've already watched full-length shows on ABC.com and NBC.com via the connection and it works great.
5/5 all around, can't recommend it enough Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Buyer beware Linksys Wednesday, August 20, 2008 A Customer from Frederick MD
I bought this adapter after buying the Linksys RangePlus wireless N Router. The router fails to live up to all it's promises and the tech support people convinced me that I could only reap the speed/range benefits of the router by buying this adapter..Lied to again. Poor reception and not a noticable increase in speed. Think twice before you plunk down a lot of cash for a Linksys N router/adapter combo.. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Buy! Saturday, August 16, 2008 chrisfacundo from Lake Elsinore, CA
I would totally suggest this item to anyone. It works great and it was easy to use! I have had no problems installing it and using it. This is a must buy. I currently use it in my 2200 sqf home and I get great coverage with no dead spots or lag time. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Linksys USB 802.11N - First Impressions Tuesday, August 05, 2008 TechGuy from Reston, VA
After only using this USB network card for a week or so, it is definitely a step up from my 802.11G wireless radio. The throughput speeds are not as high as I had heard/anticipated, but I am unsure if it is due to this card, or my WRT610N Linksys router.
Both are new, and both are faster than 802.11G equipment, but I do not believe I am reaching the 75 MBPS speeds that have been advertised.
Overall I think this is a solid piece of hardware, and the software that comes with it is pretty good as well. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Expensive but worth it. Wednesday, April 16, 2008 Dan from T-Town , Wa
This product works great. I thought it was a little expensive but I cannot complain about the performance. My connection speed is avrageing 575K. Much faster than my old 2.4ghz band wireless card. I have this new card set up on the 5ghz band, much less interference. I also like the usb attachment stand that it came with. Was this review helpful?
