4 of 5 USB Wireless Convenience Wednesday, November 19, 2008 Garry from Ottawa, KS
Whether it's the "rabbit ears" antennas or simply the sensitivity, this model works far better in my home than the previous Linksys USB network adapters I've used. Configuration is easy and signal improvement is roughly 20% better. Seller shipped these in blister packs and considering that the box was sealed badly, that was a "good thing". Not perfect, but still a good deal on an excellent product. Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 Merely Acceptable Monday, April 21, 2008 A Customer from Perth Amboy, NJ
The card is easy to install, and connection speed is great, however adapter tends to drop network once in a while (sometimes network is stable for days in a row, sometimes you have to fix it several times in an hour). It is easy enough to reconnect, take 2 clicks and 10 seconds, but I would prefer network that doesn't drop at all.
Software does re-establish connection after a while but sometimes that's 5-10 mins and sometimes it cannot connect on its own at all.
In short - fine for normal inet surfing, ok for moving large files over the network or downlaoding of the net (although download managers are recomended), acceaptable for online games (in 2 weeks only once lost connection with WoW and was back inside within 20 seconds)... but this is certainly not a perfect situation.
To be fair though, I have done my research and checked reviews on a lot of cards before buying this one. It seems all N cards have the same problem, regardless of the model or brand (or at least all USB ones) Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 poor range Thursday, March 06, 2008 Joe Shlabotnick from over 'ome
I bought this unit hoping it would give us better wireless range than the built-in WiFi in our Dell laptop. But its range was inferior to that of the built-in WiFi, even when fiddling with the USB extension cable and various placements of the antennas. Back to the store it went. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Solid performance Wednesday, November 28, 2007 Mike M. from Paoli, PA
I recently moved my home office from one side of our house to the other. The only problem was I did not have an Ethernet connection on that side of the house and there was no easy way to run a cable without tearing into walls or running a wire on the outside of a few walls. I purchased a Linksys Wireless-N access point (WAP4400N) to place in my old office and then installed this USB adapter in the desktop computer in the new office. I regularly get full speed connections with very good performance. It comes with a long USB cable so you can run the adapter to a shelf away from the computer, which helps me with signal strength. 1 of 5 I am getting another wireless card Tuesday, September 18, 2007 A Customer from Charleston SC
I bought this card, and buyer beware.
I noticed my audio cracking and sounding strange.. lagging a bit. I knew it had something to do with this USB Wireless card, but I thought maybe if I upgraded my audio it would take care of it. Wrong. And on their website, there are numerous complaints about unresolved audio conflicts. The conflict makes the audio stutter, and the network will also stutter with it, until you lose the signal all together.
I strongly recommend not getting this. It has very bad issues with typical hardware. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Portable and handy tool from Linksys Tuesday, June 05, 2007 Gulzar Mohammad from Ann Arbor, MI
I found it very portable and handy tool. I had trouble installing in the beginning. But it was due to my DELL PC BIOS version. Once connected it was flying with 130Mbps.
Because it is USB, that makes it very handy and you can connect it to to your PC or Laptop.
I would rate it 5. Based on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best. Was this review helpful?
