5 of 5 Great flashlight with nice extras Sunday, February 22, 2009 Brent from Bend, OR
This is a great little flashlight for the car or for camping. I wanted to get a flashlight for my car that could be stored in the glove compartment, but more importantly, that was not reliant on batteries. I recently read a report on how bad batteries are for the environment and decided I needed to make a conscious decision to reduce my use of them. I searched around and found a few that caught my eye, but overwhelmingly this little number was the best of the bunch. All you need is about 3 minutes winding and it is powered for at least 20 minutes. It also has a weather radio, I honestly don't use it often but I can see where it would come in handy if you were camping. The cell charger also comes in handy when you forget your charger, something I often do. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great flashlight for emergencies Monday, February 16, 2009 Matt from San Diego, CA
This is an awesome little flashlight great for emergencies, blackouts or even camping, especially if, like me, you're prone to forget to keep batteries around.
It works great as a flashlight, which is what I mostly use it for, and one of its best features for this is the crank handle. If you crank it for a minute, it generates enough power for about 30 minutes of light. The crank itself feels durable and is easy to use. And for only 0.5 Watts, the light is bright enough.
Other cool features about this flashlight are the radio, which doesn't have the greatest sound but works fine, and the cell phone charger, which comes in handy in those just-in-case scenarios, or even when camping for when your cell phone battery dies.
It also has a couple of emergency features including a siren, emergency radio and two super-bright flashing lights, which I luckily haven't had to use yet, but it is comforting to know they're there if I ever get stuck somewhere. A good place to keep this product is your car for just those situations. Was this review helpful?
