    4 of 5 Decent drive Tuesday, September 26, 2006
    John Bhai from Devon, PA

Bought the 256mb drive a couple of years back in a deal. The drive is extremely rugged and durable, never had any problems. There is one thing though-- the neck is a little thick and so this cannot be plugged into USB slots that are located at some deep nook (especially when multiple usb ports are being used simultaneously). The cap is also a little crude and has to be pulled in a rough manner to be opened. All said and done, the external shell is bad but the drive rocks!

    5 of 5 USB 2.0 and very well priced ! Tuesday, February 08, 2005
    EEEmang from Westchester, NY
I ordered two of these from Buy.com and indeed I got them fast w free shipping and they are clearly USB 2.0: both per the Kingston packaging and because of the high speed I see when moving large files to them from my PC ! ! ! ! IF YOU DONT HAVE USB 2.0 PORTS ON YOUR PC YOU WONT GET USB 2.0 (480Mbits/sec) FILE TRANSFERS ! ! High speed USB 2.0 products have a design data rate of 480 Mb/s. Full speed USB 1.1 devices signal at 12Mb/s, while low speed USB 1.0 devices use a 1.5Mb/s subchannel.

    4 of 5 Check the USB speeds...this is 1.1 Sunday, January 30, 2005
Peter from Sunny Las Cruces, NM
While I think this value is good, make sure you realize that it's not 2.0 high speed. On the Kingston website, it's listed as being "Full speed" with read speed up to 6 mb/sec and write 1.5 mb/sec. The Kingston Data Traveler II is USB 2.0 High Speed (11mb/sec and 7 mb/sec).

5 of 5 It even works with Win 98 Tuesday, January 11, 2005
    Sonya Carlson from Newmarket, NH
This little stick works well for me. It says 2.0 USB and I believe it. The download from Kingston for the Win '98 driver worked well. I toss this puppy around my lab and it works great on all 8 computers--even..gasp.. A MAC!

4 of 5 USB Flash drive useful Thursday, December 09, 2004
    A Customer from Columbus, OH
The Kingston Flash Drive has a green LED to let you know it is connected. It includes a detachable laynard to wear it around your neck. The Pros: storage, ease of use. works with both USB and USB 2. The Cons: Size, it is a bit wide and can cause problems when inserting in the back of some computers. Need driver for Win98 (download).

    5 of 5 Excellent Product Friday, November 05, 2004
    A Customer from Austin, Texas
I purchased this flash drive because it was a great deal through buy.com, but it really is a wonderful product. We use flash drives at work, but they are slow, bulky and more expensive . . . The Kingston is very slim and, since it's a USB 2.0, it's very fast. I highly recommend this product.

    1 of 5 Not USB 2.0 Compliant Monday, October 25, 2004
    A Customer from Pittsford NY
Although the name for this is "USB 2.0 Flash Drive" it is actually a USB 1.1 complaint device. Because of backwards compatability it will work with a USB 2.0 port, but only at USB 1.1 speeds.

5 of 5 Kingston DataTraveler is the best... Tuesday, October 12, 2004
    Bob G from Richardson, TX
Purchased the 256mb Data Traveler. VERY convenient and easy to use. I had been waiting for the price to come down and at you cannot beat this deal, especially after the $10.00 rebate. Even though I was looking at the 512mb, this is more than enough for the average user. Thanks BUY.com

5 of 5 Kingston Drives are Wonderful Thursday, September 23, 2004
    Grant from Utah
First off all, any company that can offer a five year warranty on their products must have something good in them. Kingston really amazed me with the five year warranty on their flash drives, so I was very happy to find one on Buy.com for such an inexpensive price. The drive is completely plug&play, no problems yet, and I know that if I have any, Kingston will back me up. The size is perfect--fits in my pocket easily, but more importantly, fits in my laptop and doesn't hog up so much space that I can't fit anything into my second usb port, as I've seen other flash drives do. A must for anyone who needs to have easy file transport. Love this product.

5 of 5 Good Value, Easy to use Monday, August 30, 2004
A Customer from San Antonio TX
I was issued one of these at work, and it has been really simple to use. Even when I took it to a local continuing ed class that had an older OS, I was able to download the driver immediately from Kingston's website and I was up and running in less than 5 minutes. It has saved me lots of time and hassle in moving work back and forth from work and school.

4 of 5 Good value, but not a Hi-Speed USB device Thursday, August 26, 2004
    Don from Rehoboth Beach, DE
While the drive is very easy to use and bargain-priced, be sure to recognize that it is not "Hi-Speed USB" like many of the more expensive 2.0 USB flash drives available. Maximum sustained speeds: 6 MB/s read, 1.5 MB/s write. These are significantly less than the Hi-Speed USB drives out there.

    5 of 5 Even works with Windows 98! Monday, August 23, 2004
    sbudach@hotmail.com from Newmarket, NH
A great deal and there is a downloadable driver for '98. The Lexar Jumpdrive I bought in June was the same price for half the memory. Also, it only works on XP. I say get this one. The only downside is the geeky looking string for around your neck. I took it off and it makes a great cat toy!
