Most people are familiar with flash drives and know that these devices generally don't last more than 2 years. I've had some that have lasted only 6 months with heavy use. For the price, this is a good deal. The fact that there is no cap to lose is a plus. I wish these devices also came with a durable string that could be attached to a keyring. They used to package such items with these devices but stopped a few years ago.

I could not be happier with my purchase from Buy.com. Computer is getting ornery, and I needed to back everything up in a hurry, anticipating a hard drive crash. A good product, exactly as ordered and delivered quickly.

I picked this up as a replacement for a lost USB drive, but it has turned out to be more than just a stand-in. Fast transfer times with no hiccups, plus a swivel cap so it won't get dropped or lost... what more could you ask for? Plus it came with a great price. I am very happy with the drive. I just wish I had bought another one to go with it.

I purchased two because of the great price, shipping was also free BUT very very slow. But I wasn't really in a hurry to receive them, worth the wait. Nice flash drive, the swing cover also nice but will come off rather easy. Holds alot of data. Buy it you will like it.

The Kingston 8GB Data traveler is great product packaged in a neat tough compact package. Great for tucking away in a pocket or brief case for tough travel conditions. Also, the secure traveler software is a nice bonus.

Don't loose caps with this flash drive that swings closed. Even has a small cutout to hang a lanyard to.

I'm very happy with the price and performance of this flash drive. I use it to back up a huge amount of family pictures I've painstakingly scanned. I can then give the entire collection to my family as gifts, they love them. Its a nice way to preserve our family history. Buy.com is a hard deal to beat.

The design is simple but sleek. Too bad the performance is not the best compare to other flash memory sticks, but the design makes up for it. I really like it since the handle is pretty rugged and won't easily fall off. In short, I would recommend it.

I bought 2. I like the fact that I have used these in 5 different pc's and they were instantly recognized and usable. (not so with Cruzers) I mainly use USB drives for transferring files and some storage needs, and I want them to be available with no muss no fuss. These did the trick. User manual comes preloaded -- nice, but so far, hasn't been necessary! I have not used the security features. The pivoting cover does come off easily. If there are any changes I would make, it would be to attach it more solidly; and on my wish list, the ability to put it on a keychain of some sort. These arrived in excellent condition and in a timely manner. All things considered, I very highly recommend purchasing these from Buy.com.

This one is great...fast and small...I use it for my car for music and it works fine. Software that comes with it works fine. no big deal. I see people complain about it but I had no problem with it.

The semi-cover looks cool, but I still prefer a full cover which can prevent the dust to come into the adaptor.

Value and ease of use are great. I don't know about performance. Overall I'm quite satisfied. Not using the security feature. It's plugged into an old laptop running Windows 98 SE, replacing a 10GB hard drive (the computer only recognized 8GB) that was connected via a USB adapter and finally failed. It takes up a lot less space and works with the old driver but it seems slower. The old HD was partitioned as two drives and I used Partition Magic to partition the new drive the same way.

This flash drive is (like all Kingston flash drives) a solid performer. The 'swinging gate' cover is convenient, easy and cannot be lost. But the absolute best thing about this drive is the price. I've never bought a gig of data at a lower price! I'm pumped! wijim

This is my first Kingston USB drive and I was looking for something without the hassle of a cap. This swivel design serves that purpose. I have had USB drives with a retractable design and eventually all of them turned out to be a pain. Performance of this drive is good and 8GB is a loooot of space. Shipping was extremely quick. All in all, I am very pleased with this product.

I've had several of these in the past. Unfortunately, you get used to storing and transferring information and soon you run out of space. The 8 gig seems to be a perfect size for music and pictures. This unit is really easy to use also, just plug and go. You just need to keep in a secure place. These things are so small they could disappear easily. I remember when floppy discs were the big thing, but after using this unit 1 time you'll never store or transfer information any other way. My niece is a teacher, and she stores her lesson plans on hers. You'll love it.

Pros: for the price I couldn't pass this up. It was actually better than I anticpated. It has a great Protection Feature which allows the user to partition off a specificied percentage of the device or the entire device with a password for protection. This feature made it easy for me to carry one drive for my 'protected' price list for work and be able to pass it off to my client to upload a file of theirs without seeing or downloading MY Files. Cons: Still a bit worried without a tight fitting 'cap'

this is pretty good 8gb flash. the only problem was that it took so long to get. its not buy.coms fault... its the damn UPS. they sent it to my neigborhood then sent it back and forth again.

Pros: Good transfer rates, small size - enough so it doesn't interfere with other usb devices when plugged into the back of the PC. LED light for activity. No cap to lose. Hinged cap does a good job of covering the connector while in my pant pocket. Included security software(PC only). Cons: None really but it would be nice if they came in holiday styles.

This is my first new USB thumb drive since my freebie 128 meg no-namer given to me by work years ago. How things have changed! So far, I am very impressed at the ease of use and the capacity. It also looks slick with the stainless rotating cover.

This flash drive works well and is very convenient. The security software that came pre-loaded with it however is PC friendly only, I have a mac and wasn't able to take advantage of this software. Delivery of this item took forever though (3 weeks). But shipping was free.

Amazing amount of storage for the price. It was not that long ago that I paid $20 for 1 GB for a Data Traveler. I gave this 8 GB as a Christmas gift and it was very well received.
