1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 4 of 5 Good Product Wednesday, August 13, 2008 Randy from Mcalester, Ok.
This thumb drive is a tad slower than others I have but overall, what with 8 GB's, I am very pleased with it. It is a little hard to insert into a USB port but that may be because it is new. The cap is annoying if carrying on a lanyard but the price is right. Thanks again Buy.Com for another great buy. Was this review helpful?

3 of 3 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Kingston 8 GB Thumb Drive Wednesday, July 30, 2008 Fred Brox from Chesapeake Virginia
This is my second Kingston thumb drive. The first one was a 4 GB and worked very well. This one is twice the size and does twice the job for less than twice the price.
It is small enough to not be a problem in your pocket or in a small USB hub. It has a detatchable cap or cover so that can be a problem for some folks, but it stays in place when clicked on properly.
I use this device to carry critical documents and photos that I would need if we left the region for a hurricane. Documents such as legal trusts, marriage, birth, insurance, etc. Photos of all items in household inventory will make life easier if the house is gone when we return after an evacuation.
I give it a strong BUY recommendation.

1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Great drive. No problems yet. Monday, July 28, 2008 Jason from Worcester, MA
I bought this flash drive from Buy.com for a phenominal price. It works great (no different than any other flash drive that I have owned) on both Windows (XP, Vista) and Linux (Debian Etch). Large storage space makes it great to transfer large files or store many, many small ones. I keep this drive on my (much used) key ring and it is still going strong. I have only had this for a little over a month so I can't yet comment on its long-term capabilities. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Good Thumb Drive Sunday, July 20, 2008 kpepperell@gmail.com from Maricopa, AZ
I don't have anything special to say about these. They worked just as well as any other thumb drives I have bought in the past. Nothing special, nothing difficult, no problems... Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent value. Saturday, July 19, 2008 Rod from Austin, TX
Even had I paid full price it would have been a great value, but taking advantage of additional discounts meant 8 gigs of storage for less than many pay for 1 or 2 gig flash sticks. I use it to transfer my DivX movie collection. It is so convenient because I can fit 9 or 10 movies at a time. Was this review helpful?
5 of 6 customers found this review helpful. 4 of 5 DON'T KNOW WHAT TO THINK Monday, July 14, 2008 A Customer from Los Angeles
I am giving this less than perfect rating because I have really not been able to use the drives much. When I received them the strangest thing happened. My laptop would recognize the drives with no problem but my 2 desktops would not. The reason I am writing this review is because after trying to figure out what was going on I called Kingston support. I have to say their support is absolutely great. The technician did a bunch of trouble shooting with me to no avail. And then he immediately sent me out 2 new drives. I received them the next day. The 2 new ones still cannot be recognized in my desktop at home. They come right up in my laptop and my desktop at work. Go figure....I think it may be my computer. I call tech support for a lot of stuff but I have to give kudo's to the Kingston support staff. Was this review helpful?

I have bought 2 flash drive this time and being a tech, they are my best tool. Kingston is well built, never had any problems with them, I own 8 total from 1g to 32g and each has a purpose.

5 of 5 Great Expectations Tuesday, July 08, 2008 A Customer from Roanoke, VA
If something is "good", what's not to like? Even more so when it is a "great deal". I have nothing to be at all critical about. What I wanted, for less than I thought I could get it for and on top of that, "FREE SHIPPING". Try it; you'll like it. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Shipped fast, works great. Monday, July 07, 2008 A Customer from Worcester, MA
Ordered from Buy.com and had it just when they said I would; unlike other attepted purchases from them that were eventually cancelled on me. I've had the drive for over a week now and no problems yet. Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 Kingston 8GB Flash Drive Sunday, July 06, 2008 Darren from San Antonio, TX
This flash drive is a little on the cheap side. It is great that I can put 8 GBs on this little thing, but the outer shell is made of plastic. The cover for the USB connection is a separate plastic cover that clicks into place. It definitely does not feel like the product will have a long lasting life, but only time will tell. 1 of 5 Failed after less than a month Sunday, July 06, 2008 Duane from Grand Rapids, MI
I was really excited about this drive - the price was great for 8 GB. Unfortunately I got a delayed write error after only three weeks using it and now it doesn't work at all. I had purchased an Kingston drive a long time ago and it is still working, so maybe I just got a bad one. I'm not sure whether I'll buy from them again. Was this review helpful?

1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Very nice flash drive Tuesday, July 01, 2008 Duane from Highlands Ranch, CO
I have used it on Macs and PC's and it works on all except an older pc with XP SP2. Didn't bother trying to get it to work as it was not urgent. I did have a problem ejecting it on a Mac, but I think an app hijacked it and wouldn't let go of it. Portable apps run well on it, and it seems fairly fast. Was this review helpful?
6 of 6 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Works great! Tuesday, July 01, 2008 Bob from San Francisco, CA
This flash drive works great in all my applications: simple file storage/transfers, encrypted storage, and liveUSB Linux applications. Problem free on Windows and Linux. Formattable as needed to fat, ntfs, ext2, ext3, multiple partitions ... Bootable for a fully portable Linux desktop OS with plenty of additional space for non-multimedia storage in this 8GB drive.
