5 of 5 Kingston - that's enough said Tuesday, May 12, 2009 Bogdan from Atlanta, GA
It's a Kingston product. It's a RAM module, it does what it's supposed to do. Add the lifetime warranty. What else do you need?
Kingston never failed on me. Was this review helpful?

I think it is hard for laptop upgrade memory to get any real praise, other than low price, as other than it just working, most will never know how fast it is compared to other memory. Plus, you typically wouldn't do any over-clocking, so won't find out how close to the threshold the memory is out of the box. But you might find people having negative reviews if they get bad chips, or isn't compatible for some reason, etc. So, I guess I'm starting from the top, since there's really only one way to go, which is down.
I find no issues with this RAM. It worked flawlessly in my Dell D600 laptop. I bought two of them and they work as they should. The price is quite good too, but then it is old technology. There are more expensive modules out there, but don't waste your money on them... this one will fit the bill perfectly. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great value for the price... Tuesday, January 20, 2009 Bill from Truckee, California
Simple, cheap, easy to install - what else can you say. Bump your RAM up for a mere fraction of what it used to cost...

Installed it into my A65 series Toshiba Laptop, and it works flawlessly. You can't beat the price. One advice though: if you want it fast, do not choose the free shipping by UPS mail innovations (a subsidary of UPS). They deliver it to your local post office, which takes about 5 more business days to sort the mail out then deliver it to you. It will take a good 2 weeks before you have it. Use the UPS ground service instead. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 effective and easy upgrade Saturday, January 17, 2009 A Customer from Harvard, MA
I upgraded my son's 4-year-old Toshiba Satellite laptop from .5 GB to 1.5 GB and the performance is much improved. The installation took a short time (but I have done this kind of upgrade before).
If you are not sure what kind of memory you need, use one of the memory websites such as www.4allmemory.com which has a tool which tells you how much memory you already have, what your current and possible memory configurations are, and what type of memory you need. If you have the documentation that comes with your computer, that usually has the memory information, too. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Good Memory Update for IBM Thinkpad T42 Saturday, January 17, 2009 Emmett The K from Quinton, VA
I rated this module at max for what it is priced at and for the performance upgrade improvement. My computer whiz nephew specifically suggested Kingston. My laptop is humming along much more speedily now with a total of 2 Gigs! I initially tried to buy this through Amazon but after being sent the incorrect module TWICE and dealing with their marginally English-speaking customer no-service agents, I went with Buy.com. Buy.com is now on my fave list. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent Upgrade at Very Reasonable Price Friday, January 09, 2009 WhitePinnacle from Portland, Maine
I purchased three 1GB sticks of memory. Two for my Dell XPS Generation 1 and an Apple Powerbook G4 laptop computers. Both installed without a hitch. During bootup of the Dell, I did have to go into F2 setup to recognize the additional RAM, 1GB to 2GB after installation. The Mac recognized it automatically. It was a coincidence both used the same SODIMM RAM. I noticed the Dell did improve on performance. Graphics were a bit smoother and had less video frame loss on websites. I purchased the SODIMMs at $26.99 each and used the $30 instant discount with the Buy.com credit card so the entire purchase was around $47.00. AWESOME!!!! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works in a PowerBook G4 Friday, January 09, 2009 A Customer from S.F., CA
Highly recommend maxing out Mac laptops--either at 2GB or 4GB, whichever they can use. Going from 1.5 to 2GB made a significant difference for my 1GHz PBG4. I rated performance at 3 not because it's any different from any other same-spec memory, but only because 333MHz memory is now slow by 2009 standards. Too bad it costs more to buy older, slower memory (compared to the DDR2 common today). But this memory works perfectly in terms of what it's spec'ed to do. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works great Tuesday, January 06, 2009 Dell laptop from NY
I plugged it into my Dell Inspiron 600m and it works great. I am glad that I bought this instead of the dell memory as told to me by the dell customer representative which happened to be more than double the price of this. You also may wanna search on youtube on how to replace a dell memory. It's pretty easy Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Kingston KVR333SO/1GR Friday, January 02, 2009 JC from Dayton, NJ
Installed 2 of them on a Dell 500m computer with Bios 8A.
The computer spec is PC2100 266 MHz, but this PC2700 333 MHz will work downwardly. The Bios detected the change from 256 MB to 2 GB on startup. No problem at all. Saved $50 each if purchased from Dell. No more waiting when opening multiple tabs on Iexplorer Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Incredible Deal Saturday, December 27, 2008 Alan from Westerly, RI
I've known for some time that more memory would get my laptop to the performance level it needed to be at however, the cost was prohibitive. With Buy.com's exceptional values, especially now with the consumer economy, I've been able to increase the RAM to 2GB for less than $55.00!!!
I now enjoy outstanding performance! Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Just what the doctor ordered Sunday, December 21, 2008 Rambozo from TSH, CA
This upgrade really brought Vista to life on a Toshiba Tecra M2. 2GB really makes a difference over 1 and Kingston is one of the few brands along with Crucial that I've never had any problems with. They just work, every time. Buy com had fast, free shipping and a good price. I bought this through ebay to get the 25% live search cashback offer, too. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good Deal for Older AMD Turion64 Laptop Sunday, December 21, 2008 Mick from Omaha, NE
Not much to say. My HP laptop was only a year old but used one of the last of the Socket 754 Turion64 processors made before the shift to DDR2 support. It came with 1GB (512X2) and Windows XP Media Center. Adding 2GB RAM was the quickest and now thanks to this deal, was the cheapest performance upgrade I could make. Installed and booted up without a single problem. Thanks to buy.com and Kingston. Note that the picture is not the same as the SO-DIM you will get - no heat shield but that's not really necessary in most laptops anyway. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 like getting a new computer Monday, November 17, 2008 Linda from Raymore MO
Got this memory stick for my Dell laptop that only had 256MB onboard ram. My computer was sooooo slow I almost hated turning it on to use it. My sister suggested I get some more memory before buying a new comptuer to see if that helped. She was RIGHT! My laptop is a joy to use again! It runs like a charm and there is no waiting for bootup anymore!
Kingston makes a quality product and Buy.com delivers it fast, plus it was an excellent deal! Installation was simple and the computer recognized the additional memory right away. Was this review helpful?

I am very satisfied with the product and feel I got great value for the price. My only complaint was at check-out. When I first went to purchase my product, a screen appeared where it said I could instantly save $30 for signing up and being approved for a Buy.com credit card. Long story short, wasn't instant...after signing up was supposed to make a purchase first and then I would receive the coupon for my next purchase. Very irritating...I cancelled the credit card and then purchased the product. Was this review helpful?
