5 of 5 Kingston 19-in-1 USB 2.0 Media Reader - FCR-HS219/ Thursday, November 12, 2009
JT from Kokomo, IN
I got this card reader for my new SDHC card since my PC's built-in card reader is not able to read the new format. It works well with the Kingston's 8GB microSD card. Will try other formats soon as needed

5 of 5 The last reader you'll ever need Thursday, November 12, 2009
Vlad from Philadelphia, PA
Reads (and writes to) everything, including my 32GB SDHC card. It's plug-n-play so no drivers needed, therefore works on every system with any operating system, including the PS3. It has a very short USB cable that hides right inside the reader which makes it very easy for travel. Also A small USB extension cable is included if you need it. The reader itself has a sliding case which makes it a little bigger, but it also protects any card that you may have inserted into the reader at the time. It had a big red LED indicator on front. Transfer speed is only limited by the card you insert into it.

5 of 5 Reads the BIG Cards! Sunday, July 26, 2009
VictoryDaveAZ from Phoenix, AZ
I got this because 3 of my 4 computers would not read my 8GB memory cards even with a USB adapter. The cards read easy and fast on this plug-n-play device. No software to install and transfer to and from the card is faster than trying to get them to read from the camera or MP3 player.

This card reader was inexpensive and easy to use. Plug into the USB slot & it's ready to use. I just backed up all my photos to memory cards because my computer is on the fritz - now I don't have to worry about losing any files.

4 of 5 good product Wednesday, May 06, 2009
A Customer from St. Louis, MO
This device is working well, takes 2gb sd cards that my old belkin card reader wasn't able to do. Slots sometimes take time to figure out the right way to put card in them.

5 of 5 Works like a charm Wednesday, March 25, 2009
James D. from New Port Richey, FL
Works great. No drivers to install for WinXP... just plug it in and go. Also, something it doesn't mention in the description: The reader has a protective "hood" that can be slid outward around the card slots, to protect any cards you have plugged in from being knocked around or damaged. All in all, definitely a worthwhile purchase.

5 of 5 Reads SDHC! Monday, March 23, 2009
SassyLassy from Destin, FL
I purchased this for my SDHC memory card because I had problems with my other card reader recognizing it. I was delighted to find no problems at all with this product reading SDHC. The only other slot I have tried is the Compact Flash and that works great too. It was a very good value with free shipping from Buy.com and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a mult-card reader.

4 of 5 works well Monday, March 23, 2009
A Customer from Frederick, Maryland
It works well. My wife didn't like it much because of its bulkiness. It doesn't look attractive either. Other than that I don't have any problem. It works well, supports lot of different cards. I chose it because it had micro SD built in and because it's "Kingston". It seems having higher speed (both read/write) than some other readers I've had in the past (no scientific measurement, just feeling when copying/downloading images from my camera memory cards)

5 of 5 Works with SDHC Tuesday, February 24, 2009
EL from Brooklyn, New York
The reason I got this were because: 1) my old reader doesn't read SDHC & this one does; 2) this was under $15 when I bought it; 3) I have only had positive experiences with Kingston products dated back to more than 10 years ago.

5 of 5 Awesome reader Wednesday, February 18, 2009
A Customer from Denver, CO
This reader blows away all the other readers I have. It recognizes media that is inserted within a second usually whereas other readers sometimes wait a few seconds to realize new media was put in. The transfer speed is as fast as the media can handle. This also works great with the Photofast CR-5400 microSD to Memory Stick Pro Duo adapter and doesn't corrupt files like many other readers will do. The only drawback is that Smart Media (which is more or less obsolete now) and xD cards (mostly used by Olympus cameras) won't work in it. So if you need a micro/mini/SD(HC), CF/MD, micro/MMC, MS/PD, and/or M2 reader this is THE reader to get.

5 of 5 Works Tuesday, January 13, 2009
Ken from Near Seattle, WA
Works well. Have only tried SD and microSD cards so far. MicroSD is a bit difficult to remove. Careful, don't put it in upside down. Automounts in Debian (Sid) Linux when card is inserted. Could use a USB socket. Guess I'll buy a hub.

5 of 5 Great Value ! Wednesday, September 17, 2008
A Customer from Graham, WA
We've used Kingston RAM memory for our computers for several years plus a Kingston Compact Flash card for our camera. They have performed well. So, when we saw this Kingston 19-in-1 card reader at a low price with free shipping we ordered one. Delivery took about 4 or 5 business days and it arrived in perfect condition with no problems. It works as advertised, and I noticed that photos now download faster than before due, no doubt, to the USB 2.0 speed of this card reader compared to our older reader which was USB 1.1. So far we have tried the Compact Flash card and our microSD card in an SD adapter shell. They work fine. Another feature is that you can download from Kingston's website a little set of icons that are each labeled for the type of memory card you insert. So, when you click on My Computer the extra "drives" listed there won't be faceless and generic. Instead, you will see a CF icon, an SD icon and so on. The icons change color when you insert a card into the slot. Handy little feature.

2 of 5 Disapointing...but cheap. Tuesday, September 02, 2008
A Customer from Burlington VT
I got this specifically to read CF cards and micro SD. I otherwise need to use adaptors to get my microSD into SD slots. This unit's microSD reader does not function. Frustrating. Tried with two new separate Kingston 2gb microSD too. Figured the same manufacturer's cards would pose the fewest problems. Other slots appear to work OK but that's not why I bought it. Can't return to amazon because of course it's open and the packaging is gone. Is it really worth it to return a $15 item anyway? So...another electronic paperweight. Maybe only mine and a few more are defective...but that means quality control isn't that great. Interesting design with the retracting sleeve but it ain't workin' for me. Ho-hum...

1 of 5 Trouble reading some cards Saturday, July 19, 2008
A Customer from Connecticut
Will not read all brands of cards such as a Ridata 233X 4 gb CF card but did work with other brands of 4 gb cf cards. This made it useless to me so it went into the trash. I can't recommend a reader that can't read all popular brands of flash cards. Through my money away buying this. Done with Kingston products.

5 of 5 Great Deal! Sunday, July 06, 2008
Ken from Pensacola, FL
I have an older model Sony digital camera, which is still working well. I also have a Sony laptop with a slot for the original memory stick, but am getting ready to buy a new computer. The older memory sticks are not so readily available nowadays, so I wanted to be sure to have a card reader that I could use with any computer - hence my purchase. I was surprised that the price was so reasonable, but even more surprised to see the quality of the product when it arrived. It is simple to hook up and works well - a great deal!

1 of 5 Does not mound CF Saturday, July 05, 2008
A Customer from NYC
Bought it because of other good reviews, so here is what they do not mention. It does not mount CompactFlash cards. Tried on multiple PCs & Macs. Through system I could see that USB bus can see the reader but it will not mount the inserted card. It reads SD card no problem, but not CF, so it was a waist of money for me. May be I got a faulty unit or may be it just doesn't do it, just claiming it can. First thought it is my card, reformatted it - same result. So, had to spend some more money and buy SanDisk ImageMate, this one reads it all, including my 8Gb CF.

5 of 5 Quick But Could Be Quicker Sunday, June 29, 2008
Pauline from West Fargo, ND
I realize I shouldn't condemn this reader because of my ignorance. However, I receive a popup which tells me I can run faster with an USB 2.0 connection. But it doesn't tell me how to achieve that. I know my USB are 2.0 but the Kingston isn't recognizing it. Otherwise, love it!! Snugs up tight and flat for use with my laptop.

5 of 5 Kingston Card Reader Saturday, June 28, 2008
A Customer from Longmont, CO
Works well but there seems to be no reason for the slide mechanism. The primary reason for buying this card reader is it supports high capacity SD cards and many other readers do not.
