| | | The unlikely but successful collaboration between Square Enix and Disney Interactive returns in Kingdom Hearts II; where a darkly-cloaked Mickey Mouse joins Donald, Goofy, and Sora as they continue their adventure into several popular Disney-inspired worlds. Battling against the Heartless once more, the dedicated group of friends now find themselves up against an all-new enemy threat -- a mummy-wrapped ruler of unknown origin. Also fresh to the series is a brand new meter known as the "Transformation Drive" that allows players to merge with other team members to create more powerful versions of themselves. New costume designs, improved camera controls, and the answer to lingering plot questions from the first game are also included. Developed exclusively for the PlayStation 2. This mystery and others will be solved as the story unfolds in a grand adventure. The tale is brought to life by an all-star voice cast. Fans will revisit this beloved story and come to care for a new troupe of characters in Kingdom Hearts II. "...this game rocked and set itself a more than worthy successor to the first Kingdom Hearts." Deeko "An all around excellent game. It looks phenomenal and plays even better." Siliconera
| | Professional Reviews | netjak 9 of 10 Kingdom Hearts 2 will be looked upon as one of the "must play" games on the Playstation 2, and while not perfect, original, or surprising, it IS very well put together, very polished, and it is very fun to play.

1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 3 of 5 Well done but easy Wednesday, July 26, 2006 A Gamer from Worcester, MA
The original Kingdom Hearts was a wonderful mixture of the Final Fantasy and Disney worlds. It contained complex puzzles, tricky jumps that could cause you to back track a bit if missed, and bosses that could prove tough to defeat. In a way, this made a wonderful game perhaps a little too tough for its intended target audience.
The PS2 sequel, Kingdom Hearts II, has the same characters, an intricately detailed plot and overall attention to detail [though without complex puzzles], a very cool battle sequence and no challenge at all. This version, while interesting and worthwhile on its own might be a disapointment to those who loved the challenge, puzzles and depth of the original. For those looking for a fun game for younger video gamers who love the Disney movies, this might be a great choice. Was this review helpful?
