Works great plenty of light that covers the entire keyboard! I use it to type in the dark and as a light for my web cam when on Skype. Just to clear up, it's not a "true" dimmer it just has a off/low/high setting button! Holds great could be a little stiffer but no complaints. Connection fits perfectly into all my USB outlets including my 2.0 connection. Already ordered 3 more for Christmas presents Was this review helpful?

What a shame everything works so great except the connector is so loose in my USB ports, the light wobbles around. I talked to Kensington and they assured me it was not a defect which would apply to all units of the same model. I don't believe them and have requested an RMA to return this unit for another manufacturer's light. The plastic piece inside the connector shell is thinner then any other USB connector I have. This product was exactly as advertised so how could anyone complain about that. The most impressive part was that it arrived at my door the day after I ordered it without paying for special shipping. I was not going to wright a review but then I changed my mind. I found that this light stays where you put it however previous the snake light which is made out of metal is much better. The only thing that is better about this light is the dimmer. Was this review helpful?

I've tried several other brands that manufacture usb lights and this Kensington is by far the best product. Specifically, I like the fact that it has two settings one for mid-range light and bright. The craftsmanship on this light also appears to be of higher quality than others I've tried. I've only had it for one month, so hopefully it will continue to function well. Was this review helpful?

I have been using this light for more than a month now. I like the white light it gives out. It is not harsh. It makes a bright spot where it is focused and fades out at the edges. But that is more than sufficient for an experienced laptop user.
As far as the gooseneck is concerned....it is not very strong ... but not very weak either. It may tend to droop over time a little, but not much. It can be improved, but as it is it can be happily used. Was this review helpful?

It works for me; nice and bright. I'm a hunt-and-pecker and can't type without looking at the keyboard, so I'm lost in the dark, especially after the cabin lights are turned off during a night flight. This light works well once you get it positioned. Two things would make it better; first, it puts a bit of a strain on the USB port connector, so a seat or collar around that part would assist. Second, if it could be "stuck" to the edge of the monitor frame, perhaps with light Velcro, it wouldn't have to be adjusted so frequently. As is, it does okay and serves the purpose. its not a dimmer... but 3 way switch... off, 4 lights, or 8 lights... it stays where you want it and doesnt sag or droop...
4 lights on is good for typing... but i think 8 is better...

I just bought one of this yesterday and was so dispointed since then. The goose neck is so weak, it kept falling off from it setup position. 8 LEDs light is not in any way brighter than regular 5-buck-1-LED-notebook light. Paid xx bucks for this item and it was the worst investment ever. I could find better one with one one LED light for 2 bucks on Ebay. Never gonna by any product from Kensington any more.
