5 of 5 Great board, onboard video ok.. Tuesday, April 21, 2009 Intel Rocks! from Plymouth CT
Smooth running board, loved how easy everything was with included instructions. No problems yet. I am running just the DVI cable on the onboard port, and I can tell it's not as smooth as with my nvidia card installed in pci express slot. But, overall happy with everything. Onboard video really are never well known for performing all that great anyways, so no surprise to me. Bang for your buck though. Software issues seem to be a work in progress with this board, but it runs and works great for what I'm using it for. It handles all 8gb of my pc6400 800 mhz ram just fine, and my E6400 processor seems to feel right at home. I have two OS's 32 and 64 bit vista ultimate and the board runs both flawlessly. Couldn't be happier. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 A bit buggy still Monday, April 06, 2009 Bob from Cary
This board has great specs, and I'm sure once all the kinks are worked out, it'll make an awesome HTPC board. I'm a big Intel MB fan. I always find the quality to be top-notch, and the reliability excellent. But like most Intel boards I've used, this board has quirks. I bought this board to build an HTPC, was sold on the notion of on-board video built with HD-capable HTPC in mind. However, the drivers for this board are still a work in progress. I set this up running Vista connected via HDMI to a Toshiba LCD TV, fully expecting it to be HDCP compliant (the product specs say it is). Problem is that it is not recognized by software as being HDCP complaint, so you cant' play blu-ray on it (I'm sure this is a driver issue). HDMI audio also does nbot work as it should, and you are limited to 2-channel sound if using it. The other issue I have with this board is that occasionally, it locks up coming out of or going into standby. I have to hard-reset it when this occurs. Generally, given the issues/quirks setting this board up, I would not recommend it for the novice builder. It has enough issues that it would probably easily overwhelm folks that are not highly computer-savvy. I had issues with drivers, BIOS, booting it, setting up the HDMI, you name it. But now that it's finally set up, it mostly works well. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Ultimate board Monday, November 03, 2008 A Customer from Houston Texas
This board works superbly. It does everything perfect. I do not game but the integrated graphics does everything that I expect perfectly. Vista Ultimate media experience comes alive with this board. No additional graphics add on cards are needed. Dual channel ram outperforms ECS GF7050-VT-M it replaces with alot less lock ups and bugs. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Not a problem in site Monday, October 13, 2008 Jami from Indianapolis
Grouped with 4 GB DDR2 800 MHz RAM (up to 8) and Core 2 Duo processor (or Quad if you want a more robust system) this motherboard is working with no flaws. This is not to mention the 6 USB ports, DVI and HDMI outputs. Great features. Was this review helpful?

Best motherboard I have every owned. Blu-ray playback @ 1080p using and Intel e8400 processor is @ 25-35% cpu usage. I fitted the motherboard with 4GB Crucial DDR2-800 1.8v Cas6 memory and my system is running smoothly. I had one problem. (I also had this same problem with a DG45FC motherboard I bought.) Sliding the motherboard into the I/O shield is very difficult. The prongs on the shield interfere with seating the motherboard. Takes quite a bit of effort to get things lined up correctly. Other than that everything has been a-okay. I also installed the Consumer IR module that attaches to the internal headers and it operates great. I use bluetooth for keyboard and mouse. I have no wires anywhere on my desk. Great, great, great, absolutely great! Was this review helpful?

You don't have to spend a lot of money and buy an expensive Video Card to get things to work right. I could download, shrink, convert videos, watch TV(Tuner Card installed) and watch a DVD with no video jitters or cache reload. Intel has done it again. A low priced board with high quality performance. Best of all, all SATA, no IDE, No VGA out, only a DVI, and HDMI out. DVI output to my HP 24", and the HDMI to my 65" HDTV. Was this review helpful?
