Go deeper into the medical mysteries of House, TV's most compelling drama, as all 22 Season One episodes and exclusive bonus features come to DVD!

Hugh Laurie stars as the brilliant, but sarcastic Dr. Gregory House, a maverick physician who is devoid of bedside manner. While his behavior can border on antisocial, Dr. House thrives on the challenge of solving the medical puzzles that other doctors give up on. Together with his hand-picked team of young medical experts, he'll do whatever it takes in the race against the clock to solve the case. Check out each gripping episode featuring some of TV's hottest guest stars, including Carmen Electra, Chi McBride, Scott Foley and Sela Ward. It's the intriguing series TV Guide's Matt Roush hails as ''the uncommon cure for the common medical drama."

Editor's Note

Part E.R. and part C.S.I., HOUSE is a medical mystery television show that's appealing due to its creative camerawork, interesting characters, and twisting plotlines. Dr. Gregory House (Hugh Laurie) is a brilliant medical professional, but often alienates his patients and co-workers because of his abrasive manner and bitterness. In each episode House is faced with a person exhibiting a number of unusual symptoms, and along with his team of dedicated doctors and nurses, must discover what strange illness is afflicting the patient...before it's too late! The show moves at a rapid pace, spurred by its turning and suspenseful plotlines and the lively interaction between the characters, played by a strong supporting cast that includes Robert Sean Leonard, Omar Epps, and Sela Ward. HOUSE: SEASON ONE collects all 22 episodes of the program's first year.

"[T]he antisocial antihero comes off sympathetically, injecting the compelling hospital procedural with an extra cc of adrenaline and realism." 09/02/2005 p.65

Reel.com 9 of 10
House is a true word-of-mouth phenomenon. For most of its first season, it resided near the bottom of the Neilsen charts, propelled only by a small but vocal group of Anglophiles eager to watch Hugh Laurie on a weekly basis. When those people began telling their friends about the series, the numbers picked up...The series was created by a physician, David Shore, and most episodes are written by doctors; it aims for the same medical accuracy as CSI's forensic accuracy. Shore's initial goal was to develop something like a police drama, but in a hospital setting, and along with executive producer Bryan Singer (X-Men), he's pretty much achieved that...If you don't like the show immediately, you're not alone. But watch at least four episodes before you give up, because House is an acquired taste. And once you've got the taste, you'll eat it up. - Sarah Chauncey

5 of 5 Rock the "HOUSE" Friday, January 09, 2009
A Viewer from Madison, SD

I've been a fan of 'HOUSE' since it first began and after a couple seasons, my sons started to watch with me. This purchase was for one of them that can't get enough of this series. Hugh Laurie is a great actor. The rest of the cast is top-notch too. I look forward to watching the 'repeats' of which there are many this time of year. I would highly recommend this series to anyone wanting some great entertainment.

5 of 5 House Season One review Friday, January 02, 2009
Rod Garner from Birmingham, Alabama
Season One of House was excellent introduction to one of the best shows on television today. It stands out from all of the other medical dramas with it`s complex mysteries and it`s equally anti-hero lead character, Dr. Gregory House, who`s portrayed perfectly by Hugh Laurie. Plus the rest of the cast is pretty good as well. I highly recommend it for everyone.

This show is consistently entertaining and very intriguing to watch. I had never watched the live episodes, but once I saw one I knew I had to have the DVD set, and I wasn't disappointed. Highly recommended!

5 of 5 House Season One FUN Friday, October 24, 2008
Linda from Newport News, VA
The first season of House, the great and powerful Dr House is chosing his new trainiees. There is a lot of give and take and learning of House's personality. It's fun to watch and see what he gets away with and what he doesn't get away with. Just thru one disc and looking forward to the rest.

5 of 5 Just Another Doctor Show? Monday, June 19, 2006
gmhl10 from Honolulu, HI
Definitely not! When House M.D. first aired on TV, that's exactly what I just assumed it was. A few nights ago, I saw a rerun on TV and since there was nothing else to watch, I just had it on that channel. To my surprise, Hugh's character has a witty and cynical side to him that makes it all the more interesting. As much of a jerk his character is, it's just so fun to see his satire rile up everyone around him. I went out and bought the box set the next day after seeing 1 episode. I was SOLD!

5 of 5 I love this show Saturday, February 25, 2006
GRosko2 from Chicago
I don't generally do doctor shows. But I was at the video store and with the general lack of good movies I have started to turn to series. In this case, I had never seen the show so it was a complete crapshoot. After a few shows, though, I was hooked. My wife and I have wathced the whole first season, I love Hugh Laurie and just generally enjoy the show. It is funny, suspensful and moving all at the same time.

5 of 5 You will enjoy for years to come Wednesday, January 25, 2006
Bob Jones from Louisville, KY.
House is a great TV series. Full of drama and suspense. I looked forward to each Tuesday evening at 9:00 EST for that's when it aired. It's fun to watch, and you don't know how it will turn out until the last few minutes. It's something new each week. And now I can watch it any time I want. I beleive it's a must have. And if you collect TV on dvd, I encourage you to get this series.

5 of 5 A Drama...Really ? Monday, November 07, 2005
MayM from McKinney TX
I never thought a medical show would be sooo entertaining or funny ! I love this show. Dr. House is awesome ! I would hate to have him as my doctor...but watching him actually brings me PLEASURE. He makes me happy. It's a great show...having the entire season in a set like this is great (NO COMMERCIALS) but I was a little let down by the "extras." Not enough extra material.

5 of 5 A Great Side Of Hugh Laurie! Friday, September 02, 2005
A Viewer from London England
Having spent the last 20+ years thinking of Hugh Laurie as the comedian/musician half of the "Fry and Laurie" team, I was hard pressed to consider him in a serious, non-musician role. Boy was I wrong! He shines in this role. A must-have for any true drama fan! (Oh and if you haven't seen the comedian/musician side of him, get your hands on a copy of the sketch comedy show "A Bit of Fry and Laurie".)
