I was loooking to network my 3 home computers, 2 Windows Vista, 1 XP and had trouble with my older HP. This looked to be a perfect solution. Though it was a bit unclear if I could connect simultaneously through USB (to the XP desktop) and wirelessly to the Vista notebooks, it worked when I tried it. The software needs to be installed in each computer and though it takes some time, the process was quite simple.
The printer itself appears high quality and produces great photos. Black and white text (my normal use) is quite fast. Would highly recommend it. Was this review helpful?

I recently bought the HP Photosmart D7460 printer to replace my Canon i860 Photo printer which I had worn out over a few years of printing many newsletters, photos, and general business letters. Consequently, I will compare them. The photo quality of the HP is somewhat superior to the Canon. The colors are more true and the photos are more uniform. The software that is included with the HP is useful and easy to use, however, it does not have a much flexibility and ease of use as the Canon software. The HP is slower than that the Canon, which is somewhat of a disappointment, but the quality of the photos makes up for that deficiency. I have also recently bought a Dell laser printer which I am using for all black and white printing. It is very fast, so all-in-all I am happy with my HP Photosmart D7460 printer purchase. Basically just pulled this printer out of the box, plugged in, walked through the setup on the computer and WOW!, it's working wirelessly. The photo printing is wonderful. Way better than my previous Epson that I thought was good, but could always tell a difference from lab processed. Not so with this one. Prints really fast even when set to the highest quality. I love the screen that allows you to plug in your media card and you can even do simple edits (crops, red-eye reduction) before printing. I highly recommend this! Was this review helpful?

Bottom line, it's a great quality printer, that is well built. It has built-in Ethernet and 802.11G. The LCD display is a touchscreen with a very intuitive menu. It was really easy to set up the wireless over a secure network without looking at the manual. It has six separate inks and the print quality is very good. However, this printer will require patience on its highest resolution setting. Was this review helpful?
