We bought this for my 12 year old daughter, but I quickly became addicted.. Many plusses to this game: 1)it promotes manual dexterity (esp. when you go beyond "easy" mode),2) my daughter has been turned on to a whole new (old?) generation of music, and appreciates it! 3)I can really play guitar!! (OK, not REALLY, but my inner Rock Star emerges!)
The game is really alot of fun for kids and adults alike. My daughter now has an earlier bedtime so i can enjoy this game unfettered! Buy the additional stand-alone guitar to do co-op battles! Was this review helpful?

My two kids love this thing. It took about one day (on easy) to beat it, and now after 4 days have elapsed, they're engaged in BATTLES with opposing guitarists! They've unlocked all the songs and are definitely enjoying themselves. Along the way they've "discovered" groups such as Cream, Mountain, Heart, etc.
And that's good. Now, where's the Led Zep? The game provides a variety of ways for you to play it, along with four different levels of difficulty - from relatively easy to the Alvin Lee mode. I don't think the graphics are too hot, but they think that they're pretty good, so it gets a 4. My one son says that it's a little more dificult on his Wii than it is on the PS3 that they play at a school function "Coffee House". At the end of a song you can check your prowess for playing correct notes in the various song sections and overall performance, and if you're not good enough you can actually be "booed off" the stage. I don't find it offensive, it introduces them to more music, they get some competition going, and they're enjoying themselves. All positives! Now, if only math held the same fascination for them. Drum roll and Wammy Bar please - This one rates a 5.
