Game play not as good as 2 & 3. But the selection music on this game is really good & worth buying.

5 of 5 Thinking about buying this for your kids- Positive Monday, December 18, 2006

I originally bought this game with guitar controller for my kids (5 & 7 yr. olds) thinking it was nothing more than a musical toy babysitter. Unfortunately for them its difficult for little hands to get to the fret keys. When they asked me for help...Dad took over. I love this game!!! The best part is they love to watch because they like the music and choosing the guitarist charachter. My oldest can play "I love Rock & Roll" pretty well on Easy mode by herself but my youngest has more difficulty and prefers to only plays the tutorial. I think this is a great tool to introduce rock music to kids. There is no practice mode in Guitar Hero I, so I help out by playing the frets and let the little rockers control the strum bar. The song selections are clean (no cursing) yet some are sexually suggestive- The Donna's "Take it off". The music also sounds great especially through my home theatre system!! I have Guitar Hero 2 as well. Although game play features are better in GH2. I like the music of the first release by far. If you buy one, you'll return for the second. Therefore buy smart. Get the controller with GH2 and then buy this game seperately. I believe you'll save $10. BTW the wired guitar controllers work with both versions but some wireless controllers dont
