"...an instant classic." Electronic Gaming Monthly
"...an immense amout of gameplay...a truly unique gameplay experience..." ign.com
"...one of the most stylish and enjoyable games ever released." GameSpot

Features
Nine Full hours of 80s music featuring 90+ songs licensed from well known artists (compare this to GTA3s three and a half hours).
Lazlow will be back
More reflective surfaces on the vehicles including real time shadowing from the environment.
The whole of Vice City will be open to players from the start of the game. Go where you want, when you want.
Vice City is not a sequel, nor is it a prequel, and it certainly is not an addon. It is just another slice of the GTA "universe."
Your character finally speaks!
There will be around 8000 individual voice overs (compared to GTA3s 2000)
20 top Hollywood stars will fill out the cast.
Vice City will be double the size of Liberty City both inside and out. There will be many, many more multileveled interior environments for you to explore. Missions will send you to both outdoor and indoor locations.
Vice City will include even more peds on the streets with more lifelike behavior.
Gangs are more intelligent and will cause trouble all over the city so you will not be the only one the police will be hunting down.
Graphical enhancements include higher framerate, higher resolution textures, more complex vehicle and ped models with better skins, and a new radiosity lighting system to make the neon look just right.
New targeting system to make finding and shooting enemies even easier. It will highlight targets based on "priority and not on proximity". The new system also includes a new crosshair system that shows you both the exact target and the bullet spray radius
Vice City will include 40 weapons (compared to GTA3s 15), including new hand to hand weapons like the machete.
New maneuvers like crouching will help you make use of cover.
A new camera system will lock the camera over your shoulder to make both interior and exterior combat easier.
A new HUD will show more information including your elevation above ground (think large buildings with multiple floors).
VC will include more complex missions that include a greater variety of objectives. These new missions will ask more of you by melding vehicle, outdoor and indoor combat all into one mission.
New side missions including pizza delivery!
The vehicle count has also been raised to 120 from GTA3s paltry selection of only 50. Many of the vehicles are inspired by 80s sports cars and yes, there will be motorcycles!
You will be able to shoot out tires which will drastically affect the vehicle physics.
More boats have been added, and water based action has been revamped as well with an all new physics system for boats.
Gangs are much more intelligent in this game, and so are pedestrians - don't worry, you've got all-new moves and weapons to face them with
Gorgeous graphics and a much larger game world -- reflective surfaces, realistic shadows and buildings you can enter
Infinite delights and degradations to choose from, as you fight to take over Vice City!
Multilevel gaming environments and more challenging missions in the great non-linear GTA style
Return to the decade of big hair and pastel suits as you explore the massive urban sprawl of Vice City
There's also a much wider selection vehicles -- boats, motorcycles and more New camera angles like the over-the-shoulder view

...Full marks to Rockstar North and Rockstar Games for...supplying mature gamers with a title that was crafted especially for them. In an industry where all too often publishers take the easy way out, Vice City stands as an example of what the next chapter in a series should provide, and earns full marks doing so. - Tim Lewinson

You can KILL do BURNOUTS do STUNTS and even have SEX. with this game you will never get tired of playing it like the games of XBOX and GameCube and other consoles. With these one you will have more fun than ever and there is alot of weapons and lots of cars. Also there are radio stations with great artist from rap like run dmc and alot more. 5 of 5 Vice City is probably the best game to buy for PS2 Monday, March 10, 2003
Beau Rippy beaurippy from Texas
I have been playing N64's, PS1's and SNES since I was about 6 years old, and this game by far has been the best. It has everything someone would want in a game, racing, shooting, flying, chasing and many other tasks to be accomplished. My favorite aspect of this game is probably the helicopters, closely followed by the motorcycles, RC cars and planes, and the Apache that is acheived later in the game. Although this game is the best, i would suggest getting Grand Theft Auto 3 first, to further understand the controls and things about the game. P.S.- For all the parents out there who wont let their kids buy this game because of the ratings it has or something they heard about it, you should really reconcider, because this game will keep your kid busy for hours giving you time to relax, and it will also keep your kid out of trouble, because he or she will more than likely want to play this wrather than go out and do something.

4 of 5 mature audiences only Saturday, January 25, 2003
rikk from los angeles, ca
Your character is a “mob” affiliate and he starts off the game making a drug deal. There is a lot of violence and you have to earn money by doing jobs for others, most of which involves killing another person. The creator(s) spent a lot of time making this game resemble a “street life/crime boss” type of life so profanity is a common thing. They are gang wars in many places and in order to get a car you must steal it by jacking someone or the subtle way, out of a parking lot. If you get bored steal a cop car and be a vigilante stopping bad guys by killing them or if you like dancing women check out the strip joint. You can also sell drugs by using your friendly local ice cream truck. These are just a few reasons why I say it’s not for children and I haven’t finished the game yet; who knows what’s coming next. Be careful parents before you purchase this one for your child, they put the rating there for a reason. Don’t get me wrong, this is an excellent game and I play it every day, however I am 28. I grew up in the eighties and love how this game is set for that time period. Vice City resembles a mixture of the movie Scarface with a twist of Miami Vice. The game graphics are great, it simulates dawn and dusk. You get the early morning glare when the sun rises and heavy rain when the clouds role in, and they do role in, you can watch them coming like you would in your own reality. My favorite graphic is that water sometimes splashes on the camera, so you can see it running down your television screen. The game play could use a little help, I have a hard time trying to aim a scoped weapon. It is too responsive, no way to slow it down in options however it does tie into the analog abilities of your controller so as in all games, it takes practice. Flying an airplane or helicopter can be a challenge also.

3 of 5 Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Wednesday, December 11, 2002
Andew Hutchson from Tallahassee, FL
Grand Theft Auto fans will want to buy Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. HOWEVER, there are very unsuitable features and errors. Sometimes the gun refuses to fire, people act weird sometimes and you can get shot from people behind walls making it difficult to win a mission. It is a very good game, though (dispite the errors). I give Grand Theft Auto: Vice City a very effortless 3 out of 5.

5 of 5 Another pioneer in the gaming industry Tuesday, December 10, 2002
A gamer from Wilsonville OR
Just like packman and pong, the grand theft auto games will someday become know as classics. Grand theft Auto: Vice City (as well as GTA3) allow gamers to do just about whatever they want. You can follow the story line, or have just as much fun crusin' around a virtul world where anything is possible. You can commit crimes, or deliver pizzas. You can kill everyone in sight, or put out fires with a fire truck. It does have a mature theme, which quite honestly makes the game a lot more fun... but some parents may freek out when they start hearing 4 letter words. I am one of the few people who have successfully beaten the game, and it is still very fun to play. Great graphics, story line, and music. Over a million people worldwide pre-ordered!!! It's well worth the money!

5 of 5 Close enough Monday, November 11, 2002
A Gamer from gamer, NY
In my opinion, this game is as close to perfect as a it could be for a PS2 game. From a graphics and control standpoint, no changes from GTA3. It really is just GTA3 with all the things gamers wished GTA3 had plus some really cool soundtracks (Judas Priest, Night Ranger, David Lee Roth, Flock of Seagulls, and a ton more you'll know plus they used a full list of actors to do the voice-overs (Ray Liotta, Burt Reynlods, and another dozen names you know). Parents, use the controls in PS2 or don't let your kid play it. With strippers, hookers, decapitation, bloody deaths, and adult language, this game is not for a child. It's Rated "M" for a reason. Anyone who remembers Crockett and Tubbs (Thomas is in this too) will be highly amused by the theme of this game.

5 of 5 High Octane Party Lifestyle Monday, November 04, 2002
owieology from Houston, TX
Having never played any of the GTA games before, I am not writing a comparision piece. This game has everything you could want. Mix Crazy Taxi, Syphon Filter, and Leisure Suit Larry and you have GTA: Vice City. There are so many sub-games you do not have to even follow the main story to have fun. The sound track is incredible, listen to over a hundred of your favorite hits from all generations. The cars are in amazing detail. This will be your only opportunity to tear down the street in a Ferrari 360 Modena to car jack an army Hummer so you can detroy a hearse that is tossing caskets out the back at you. The graphics are quick for such a large map area and the interaction with everything is amazing. Even the "in game" movies are updated in most cases if you park (or destroy) a car in an area that appears in one of the scenes. This game is truly revolutionary.

5 of 5 A Revamped Grand Theft Auto 3. Thursday, October 31, 2002
pkellen85 from Wadena, MN
It itsnt a prequil or a sequil, its a whole new world in the GTA universe. Grand Theft Auto 3 was a masterpiece. Those who complained about the violence and maturity obviously didnt look past all that to see what truly made the game great. The gameplay was perfect. I couldnt put it down, the attention to detail and physics was incredible. Vice City has somehow managed to surpass GTA3 in overall quality. The city is gigantic, more missions, 3 times the cars and weapons, beautiful graphics and the same perfect GTA3 gameplay. The overall depth is phenominal. You can spend weeks exploring the city. I'm in heaven. Definately check it out if you're a PS2 owner.

Take Grand Theft Auto III, throw in motorcycles, indoor areas, MASSIVE areas, 110 licenced radio tunes, 80's themed cars and outfits, and you have the most antisipated game on the PS2.
