Grand Theft Auto IV

The Story So Far
GTA IV takes you to a vastly upgraded Liberty City where you will follow European immigrant Nikolai "Niko" Bellic in his pursuit of the American Dream. Lured to the States by his shady cousin Roman, he quickly finds that things are not as he expected. As it turns out, Roman is heavily in debt to the wrong people, and Niko is now left to bail him out of trouble by any means necessary.
Truly Next-Generation
Traditionally, the GTA series has required the completion of fixed missions before advancing in the game. However, GTA IV adopts a format where the line between main and side missions is blurred. Niko is now armed with a cell phone and his phone could ring at any time. Who knows who or what will be on the other end?

A fully customizable Niko means you will be able to pull up to a boutique, enter the shop, choose out your clothes, and purchase them just like in real life. Also, remember when carjacking was made easy? Well not anymore. In Grand Theft Auto IV, you will be asked to hotwire cars, meaning time is of the essence. One slip up could land you a night in the slammer. These are just some of the detailed improvements in gameplay for the latest installment of the game.
What Else Ya Got
Similar to Gears of War, a cover system has been added. The targeting system has been vastly improved over previous versions. Individual relationships are now dynamic, meaning your actions will greatly affected you relationships throughout the game. These are just a few of the ways this series will forever change how you feel about Grand Theft Auto.

Fun, as always. Gameplay is not as fun as GTA III or SA but it's still worth every penny. Phone rings too often, extremely poor braking on all vehicles makes game a lot more frustrating. Fewer cars to choose from. No planes? Really? WTH?
Graphics are fantastic and so far, the PS3 version has been flawless in rendering them. Had to turn up the brightness a lot in the game settings, but otherwise, stunning. Was this review helpful?

this is the best of the series of gta imo! gameplay almost top notch..some small control issues (aiming); but this game just immerses you into its world...ovarall even with its minor controlling flaws and camera angles, the experience is worth a 5! Was this review helpful?

GTA4 has been the best game of the year so far. It has unmatched graphics on both systems (I prefer PS3) and the story is extremely compelling and innovative. The gameplay of course has not changed much from the other GTA games, as most of the time you are simply stealing cars and shooting people, as expected. The addition to the PS3 version is that you can control the motorcycle, helicopter , bowling, darts, and other objects, using the six-axis feature (obviously absent in the Xbox 360 version). The choices you make as to who to kill and be-friend will dynamically affect the story as it progresses. The one downfall is that most people believe the Xbox 360 version to have a more extensive online feature.
All in All I would give the game a 9 out of 10 solely based on everyones expectations of "Next-Gen". When placed up against any other games of its type, or any games for that matter, I would say that this receives a perfect 10. A MUST HAVE FOR ANY GAMER WITH PS3 OR 360! (well the ones 18 or over anyways) Was this review helpful?

Call me crazy but I don't particularly enjoy gameplay, it's not fun, I spend so much finding my way around the city, half the time i'm lost. I must admit i'm new to the GTA family never had any prior experience with the game. Not crazy about it at all. It's just not enjoyable, UNCHARTED DRAKE'S FORTUNE is a FUN Exciting game full of surprises, check it out, give it a try. Was this review helpful?

It's an awesome game. Do not buy this game for your kids though, it will seriously warp their minds.

This game ships packed full of bugs. I can only speak of this game on a PS3 60GB release console. This game runs for about 30 seconds and locks up. There is no patch from Rockstar or Take Two to fix this issue. Gooogle gta4 freeze and read (for hours) about the issues. Rockstar and Sony say it is very isolated to a few consoles but the internet says differently. It seems like Rockstar was bleeding money and need to get a product on the shelves to stop the bleeding. They did but they screwed the customers. Until a patch is availabe, don't buy. There seems to be issues with the xbox 360 also and freezing. Was this review helpful?
