In addition to scoring one of the biggest surprise hits in television history, NBC generated a veritable pop culture phenomenon with its twentysomething sitcom smash FRIENDS. Set in New York City, the series chronicled the lives of six best friends as they navigated through the ups and downs of romance and career from the confines of their local coffee shop and some pretty fabulous Manhattan apartments. While the series originally rode to success on the coattails of its Thursday night predecessor SEINFELD, what differentiated FRIENDS from the rash of copycat sitcoms that followed--and made it a bona fide hit in its own right--was the unique chemistry of its fine ensemble cast: Courtney Cox as neurotic clean freak Monica; David Schwimmer as her endearingly hangdog brother Ross; Matt LeBlanc as none-too-bright actor-wannabe Joey Tribbiani; Matthew Perry as sarcastic computer programmer Chandler Bing; Lisa Kudrow as goofy new-age free spirit Phoebe Buffay; and, of course, Jennifer Aniston as reformed spoiled rich girl Rachel Green (whose highly influential fashion sense launched a thousand hairstyles). For all the fans of friends, it is a great idea to have all the episodes on video. A few years ago I wished for them to be available on tape. Dvd is even better yet. For anyone to say it is a waste of money. They just don't know a good comedy. What a better way to spend your time than laughing. Why else are these actors so well paid.

Dont listen to Steve B. Friends is one of the best shows ever created. Let the ratings speak for itself! This is the first season, cast members are not quite defined yet, there personalities are still forming and perfecting. It is a must for the complete series to be released over the upcoming years. I am looking forward to buying the second season which is expected to be released in early September.

For years, Warner has released Season Sets in Europe. I have bought them every year. These Are Absolutely The Best!! It's The Best Show Ever Produced For TV! It Has The Best Ensemble Cast Ever Assembled! I have already sold my PAL versions and Pre-Ordered the Region 1 Version! I can't wait to see these Director's Cut versions of the First Season! If you've never seen Friends, You're missing out on the best that TV has to offer! Thanks, Guys, for signing up for a 9th Season, how about an even 10!!
