4 of 5 Good price, OK performance Monday, September 29, 2008 Pearl from Los Angeles, CA
The price I paid for this shredder is definitely good, compared to other brand of similar shredder.
I've been using it for a few weeks now, and here are the pro's and con's I've noticed:
Pros - No jamming, easy to empty the bucket, and that little tray on the side makes things easy.
Cons - a little on the loud side, and doesn't take as many pages as expected.
Over all I'm satisfied with the machine. Would I recommend it to others? Yes I would. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 As good as it gets Saturday, September 27, 2008 A Customer from Grover, MO
This is a real fine shredder ... literally and figuratively! Because the pieces are so small, you get more compaction than the strip shredders, so less bag emptying. It is not quiet, but has a lower rumble as opposed to the usual high-pitched whine. Haven't jammed it yet. Comes with three bags and a small bottle of cutter lubricant, so don't feel rushed to buy these accessories. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Best Medium To Heavy Duty Home Shredder Friday, September 19, 2008 A Customer from Springfield, VA
I have had many shredders over the years and the price performance of the Fellowes Intellishred SB99Ci can not be beat. It has 17 page large capacity feeder, a motor powerful enough to actually shred 17 sheets of 24LB paper all at once, best available safety features and also easily shreds CDs / DVDs / Credit Cards. 5 of 5 Fellowes Intellishred SB-99Ci Jam Proof Shredder Tuesday, August 26, 2008 bwhemstreet@verizon.net from Glenn Dale, MD
This is the shredder I should always have had but I guess you have to have a few bad, cheap ones to make you know it's worth the money. I've had 3 shredders before this one. I would have spent a lot less if I had bought this one first. This shredder does all it says it will. It shreds 17 sheets of paper and it doesn't sound any different than when it shreds one sheet. It's reliable and fairly quiet. A regular Glad tall kitchen 13 gallon bag fits over the top edge and works just fine. I haven't had my shredder long enough to fill it up but I don't forsee a problem with that because I used them with my other shredders. In fact with them, that was the only thing about them that worked well. Since I bought it from BUY.com I got a good deal. It was a good buy and well worth the money. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Shredder! Tuesday, July 29, 2008 Mike from Bethlehem, Pa.
I had 20 years worth of documents to shred. After looking at many shredders, the Fellowes Intellishred SB99Ci seemed up to the task. I shredded thousands of pages of documents in just a few afternoons with virtually no issues. Great machine for the money! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Well Worth the Money! Tuesday, July 01, 2008 ALE from Indiana
If you do a lot of shredding like I do, and I shred everything, this product thus far is worth the money. Not only does the shredding protect you from identity theft, but also most local humane societies can use the shredded paper for use in their cages.
The touch sensor is a great feature and works great thus far, sometimes a bit annoying, but a great safety feature. Although I dont leave the shredder in an area where the kids can get to it easily, it is still peace of mind knowing that the shredder will not function if little hands are near the throat of the shredder.
The jam proof system works really well too, and I have not yet been able to jam the machine.
The only negative I have with this machine is that the bags that are used with the machine rip in the front when removing them from the basket. The rip comes from the bottom of look through window that is used to see how full the bin is. To fix this I tapped a piece of fiberboard from a cereal box to the bottom of the look through window; the fiberboard does block the bottom half of the look through glass, but so far this seems to help. This isnt that big of a deal considering the shredder tells you when the bin is full. For the money they charge for this machine and the bags, you'd think they'd have designed basket to prevent the bag from ripping; almost defeats the purpose of putting bags in the shredder basket.
The only other change Id make to this shredder is that the throat size (~9 wide) be about a inch wider to get those envelopes that are 9.5 wide through them in the horizontal instead of the vertical.

5 of 5 Great for small home office Monday, May 19, 2008 David from Plantation, FL
I paid a little more than I hoped to in order to get the safety feature of an automatic shutoff when fingers get close to the feeder. I wasn't worried about myself but my year old grandson who might toddle into my home office.
The unit is noisy, but handles paper much more efficiently than my old, less expensive unit. Whereas before I could only feed at most two pages at a time, this will chew through eight to ten pages at a time at a faster rate. Consequently, I use it more, protecting both my and my customers' privacy. Money well spent. Was this review helpful?

The Fellowes SB99Ci shredder is compact, sturdy, and reliable.
I love the clear panel in front which shows the level of shredding completed so it is not necessary to open up the drawer to view.
