Fellowes Intellishred PS-79Ci Jam Proof Shredder - Cross Cut - 12 Per Pass Sheets - 3227901

I purchased this shredder as a replacement unit for home use. I can't believe how quiet this unit is. I love the solid feel of the unit and so far I am more that pleased with the operation. I am more than satisfied with my choice.

I have tried many shredders in the past that get jammed every other time, overheat, and break all too easy. I was hesitant to buy a shredder for more than $100, thinking that it would break after I shredded my 5 boxes of papers. But I decided to give this one try. Its from the new Fellowes 100% jamproof line of shredders. I was able to shred all of my papers in one day! That was more than the directions allowed. Not once did it jam. The shredder automatically handles the paper so you don't have to manually reverse it to fix the jam. It also alerts you when there is too much paper in it before it starts shredding. Its also not as loud as other shredders. I have 2 cats that get scared by the slightest sound, and they were both sleeping in the room while I was shredding. The wastebasket is very large and a few extra bags even come with it. I would definitely recommend this shredder to anyone that has light to medium duty shredding habits. I wish I would have invested in a shredder like this earlier, since I would have saved a lot of money from buying crappy shredders. This truly is an investment!

I have had the Fellowes PS-79ci shredder for a about a month and have been very pleased. It is able to handle many sheets at a time, staples and disks. It is very quiet and I was worried that it would overheat quickly but have been able to shred for up to 20 minutes at a time without overheating. I found that the unit rarely jams. 2 slight negatives. The unit, like many shredders makes a mess when you go to empty the bags with strips of paper ending up on the floor. Also, the inside of the basket has pegs which when the bags get overfilled can end up tearing the bags upon removal.

We have been using this for about a month and really love it. our old shredder burned up and would barely shred more than 3 pages at a time. This on is great and it really is jam proof. if it senses a jam it pauses and then powers through it. it can also take staple and paper clips which can be a pain to remove if you have alot of stuff to shred.
