5 of 5 Boffo Video Thursday, April 02, 2009 Winnie Churchill from Metairie,LA
John Cleese at his finest. Sardonic wit, physical comedy of the
highest order. Proper Brits in ridiculous situations.
As a frame of reference, I also enjoyed Absolutely Fabulous.

5 of 5 Fawlty? Hardly.... Tuesday, February 24, 2009 KenB from OKC, OK
This is the original and still the best... whatever it is, it's almost perfect at it... farce, slapstick, vaudeville?, painful!, silly, mean, low, high, etc.
John Cleese is funny, his wife is even funnier (Connie Booth, you'll recognize her from MPatHG, but she gets writing credits here... hilarious stuff), Basil Fawlty (played by Cleese) is evenly funnier (crazy to say, but even funnier when he is totally non-PC) and his wife (in the show) is spot on perfect.
sets, players, topics, scripts, everything top shelf except the cinematography... its Tee Vee, but even that was good as the BBC/Brits usually are. Was this review helpful?

When you feel like nothing is going "right" for you, watch one or two episodes of Fawlty Towers, and all is again right with your life. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Funniest...show...ever! Tuesday, March 20, 2007 A Viewer from Here, RI
Just buy this. John Cleese is undeniably a comedic genius. If this isn't the funniest series you've ever seen, then I can only assume you are dead inside. Just buy it. You won't regret it. If you like Monty Python or English humor or things that are funny, you should own this. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Best television show of all time! Tuesday, November 28, 2006 Lee C. from Milwaukee, WI
This is the best television series of all time. Unfortunatly there is a limited number of episodes but you will watch them over and over again. The humor of this show is timeless and is nonstop funny. Was this review helpful?

Fawlty Towers is by far the BEST of any British comedy series! This set has all of the 12 episodes that were produced, as well as interviews with John Cleese, Prunella Scales and Andrew Sachs (Que??). They give much insight into the making of this series, as well as do some of the directors. Cleese is a genious and his supporting cast is brilliant. In my opinion, America has yet to come up with a sitcom as amazing as this one (Seinfeld and Frazier are good attempts). As for me, I'm off to visit Farty Towels! Was this review helpful?

John Cleese at his best! This comedy series has it all, slapstick, cutting edge wit, the best situation comedy scripts. This is a bargain price too! I'm in the Air Force and the first time I ever saw the series run was on PBS during their campaign. They tripled their goal while running this all day.
Of course I gave. Was this review helpful?

John Cleese is simply put - The maddest of them all. This series is just about as silly as it gets and I just love it.
Manuel is a treat. Pauline is a great supporting actress. Basil is the main character and what a nut he is.
If the reader is a fan of Clean entertainment, with a good sense of Brit comedy, you should get this set. Simply Fabulous! Was this review helpful?
