For every choice, a consequence.

FableTM is a ground-breaking role-playing adventure game from Peter Molyneux, in which your every action determines your skills, appearance, and reputation.

Create your life story from childhood to death. Grow from an inexperienced adolescent into the most powerful being in the world. Choose the path of righteousness or dedicate your life to evil.

Muscles expand with each feat of strength; force of will increases with each work of wit. Obesity follows gluttony, skin tans with exposure to sunlight and bleaches bone-white by moonlight.

Earn scars in battle and lines of experience with age. Each person you aid, each flower you crush, each creature you slay, will change this world forever.

Fable: Who will you be?

4 of 5 Great Game Monday, March 24, 2008
A Gamer from Minneapolis, MN

Overall a very fun game. I never followed the development so I know some people were disappointed they didn't deliver all they promised, but I'm playing in blissful ignorance. The graphics are very impressive for an Xbox game, the combat is just detailed enough to feel strategic but still flow smoothly, and the storyline is engaging (though a little cliche'). At this price the game is so worth it I can't even stand it.

5 of 5 One Of The Best And Most Addictive Games Thursday, January 24, 2008
A Gamer from Lawrenceburg, KY
This is one of the coolest and most interesting RPG's I've played. Fable: The Lost Chapters has several more quests than the original version of Fable, so if you aren't sure which you want to buy I would buy this one. The game starts out just a little slow, getting you used to the controls and the way you move and interact with different objects. After you graduate from the Guild, you get turned loose on the world of Albion. You are now a Hero, and it's your choice whether you're going to be good or evil. For each act you perform, you get good points (like helping get rid of some wasps that are attacking people, getting rid of a bully for someone else, or getting rid of some bandits attacking an orchard) or bad points (punching or killing a guard or townperson, helping bandits attack and raid an orchard, or stealing merchandise from a shop). As the game progresses, the story of your character develops and you're able to go back and look at all the different things you've done, for good or bad. Nearly everything is interactive, and there are so many elements to the game that it would take a long time to describe everything. You can even get married if you want to; to a woman or a man! Suffice it to say that you get free reign of your character, and if finally finding an RPG that you're in total control of appeals to you, then get this game.

5 of 5 Fun & thought-provoking game Sunday, November 05, 2006
YankeeFawn@Yahoo.com from Bruneau, Idaho
This is a fun game that also makes the player stop and think about the choices of actions that the player preforms. Really a good example of the chioces between the good and bad in life...even if it is only a game. Many of the game choices are choices that we often face in real life.

4 of 5 Shiny and nice to look at but... Wednesday, April 12, 2006
expane from SF CA
really lacks the depth of true RPGs. This plays more like a smaller version of a Zelda game. The pleasing bloom effects and sense of humour manage to hold the attention span to overlook the linear narrow nature of this action/adventure game. Most quests are either simple puzzles, find and kill or escort missions. Sadly the rewards for most quests are not interesting and powerful items. In fact the total amount of items in the game is disappointingly small and unimpressive. Its possible to finish the game without obtaining most of them, as long as you use magic and time your attacks you wont notice the difference.

5 of 5 A great game Sunday, July 31, 2005
Steven M. from FLoral Park, New York
Overal I think this is a great game. The graphics are great and the gameplay is great. The storyline to the game is interesting and there are a wide variety of weapons and armours. The allianment modifier is one of the cool things about this game. How your choices reflect what your character looks like. The only downside to the game is that the stroyline is relativly short. Doing only the main quests it will take you around 12 hours to complete he game. But the great thing is if you let the credits roll you will get to continue playing your character. Overal Fable is a fun and interesting game.

5 of 5 The game. The legend. Monday, November 15, 2004
Hannah from Laguna Niguel, CA
Having spent the last two years waiting for Fable's much anticipated release, I was almost afraid it wouldn't live up to the hype. This was to be a game that would alter the face of game-play forever, a game that would open interactive worlds to gamers in ways never before seen. This was to be the game that held players accountable for their actions, a real-time RPG without equal. If nothing else, the lush environments, unique graphics, and attention to detail would prove sufficient fodder for any ravenous gamer. Fortunately for the makers of Fable, the game boasts all of those attributes and more. But don't expect to get your money's worth if you just go through the motions while playing Fable. You must buy this game and play it as if your life depended upon the outcome. Prolong your pleasure by exploring every nook and cranny, every twist and turn, every body of water and every bend in the road. Play a campaign as a hero who upholds all laws and fights for the common good; then turn around and start a campaign as a villain--the more evil and perfidious, the better. And dont expect it to be easy. The game is designed to make absolute adherence to only one side or the other nearly impossible. Another reason to take ones time in exploring Fables inimitable world is to postpone the ending. While all good things must come to an end, not all good things end well. It seems to me that in their haste to release Fable, the publisher neglected the ending. Once players accept the final quest, there is no going back, and the end comes quite abruptly. Not to mention, the ending itself-offered in two antipodal versions-lacked the subtle sophistication found in other sections of the game. The insipid ending notwithstanding, I still recommend Fable as the single-most entertaining console game created to date. No other game evinces so many variable plots and sub-plots, with what seems to be an interminable number of scenarios enacted by completely customizable characters. This is a game I will be playing and replaying for months to come.

4 of 5 Good game, but needs refinement Saturday, October 30, 2004
Chris from Chicago, IL
Beautiful game, the graphics I think are gorgeous with the minor exceptions of some facial features. The game is short, and that is one of its biggest downfalls...even doing ALL the side quests, I can still beat the game in 20-25 hours, and that is with time spent wandering. The "choose your own path" idea is pretty crappy in the game (cool on paper), it seems hastily thrown together as opposed to the focal point I think they wanted it to be. To me, SW:KOTOR was better for choosing my own path. Over all though, excellent ideas and I hope that they will release a second fable to fix the errors of the first.

A Gamer from seattle, wa
this game is absolutely amazing, it has not let me down and i've been following it for the past year and a half or so. granted, there are features that got dropped, but the game itself is still incredible. i'm still getting used to buttons and actions, etc. so i'm sure that once i figure it out, i will like it even more.
