Works let a dream with my new 24" Asus lcd monitor This is the second Ergotron I've purchased the first unit is being used on my wifes pc lcd. Ergotron makes great products and easy to assemble and install.

I own 2 of these arms, one's for a monitor and the other a laptop--both have been a welcome treasure. These units are extremely well built, sturdy and easy to install and operate. You have not truly computed until you are using one of the Ergotron articulating arms. No more adjusting yourself in your seat to get comfortable--you can now position your monitor or notebook to meet your current needs and comfort. This makes my second monitor arm and the tension preset at the facture works for me fine but should you find yours is to tight or lose adjustment is simple and quick. I enjoy being able to maneuver my monitor and laptop without the need to depress buttons or tighten or loosen turn knobs. If you have been on the fence don't hesitate any longer buy.com has the best prices on this brand and the articulating arms are worth every Lincoln Penny!

This stand is solid, strong, and substantial, easily capable of holding up my 24" monitor even at its full 2 feet of extension. I'm really impressed and would recommend it to anyone.

I've been totally impressed with the Ergotron display arms - very solidly built, easy to install, easy to adjust, and a godsend for anyone needing a more ergonomic display configuration - helps prevent neck, eye, and back strain when the displays are adjustable to your personal configuration. Totally impressed!

Let's just say i use it because it is there. If you need to see your screen from different angles or if it helps to be able to move it around, this works out well. The moving arm gives about about 16" of vertical movement and the stand gives it about a foot of a more permanent positioning vertical movement. The "arm" with extention reaches out 2 feet from the base. It could be considered to be like a mechanical zoom feature. You have pivot or hinge points at the base, elbow, and screen attachment. You have a swivel if that is a needed option. Lets just say it multiplies the viewability options in useful ways. It is useful and sturdy yet fancy.

It is easy to intall and it looks great. However, it could not hold a 18lb Samsung SyncMaster 226BW 22" LCD Monitor.

i had the ergotron neoflex arm for my 19", but had to upgrade to the LX when i got my hp 22" widescreen, sexy w/o the arm, totally nasty w/ the arm. as with my neoflex, all hardware was included for set up, but mounting the monitor for the LX was so much easier. once i had all the parts attached, all i had to do was adjust the tension to the joints w/ the included tool. i like to switch between vertical and horizontal viewing, and the "Constant Force" technology allows for easy transitions, as well as the endless positioning possibilities with articulating joints. other reviewers pointed out the lack of cable management features, but I found it sufficient for my setup, running only the vga cable and power cord.</br> my only complaint is that the “Constant Force” technology works too well. when moving the monitor up and down, there’s nothing stopping it from coming all the way down to my desk. other then that i would buy again w/o any reservations. price is nice compared to other arms. already thinking about getting the LX for my notebook to get everything off of my desk.

I am very happy with the Ergotron LX monitor stand. It has freed up a bunch of desk space and it moves smoothly out of the way when necessary. I am currently using it for a secondary monitor for my iMac. The ease of adjustment is fantastic because I can swing it away from the slot loading SuperDrive to insert/remove discs. My thoughts on the "cheap" plastic on the arm: It doesn't detract from the functionality, it matches the color of the metal quite well, and is only noticeable during setup. In short, it's definitely not a deal-breaker.

It was easy to install and works very nicely. I had another kind, which doesn't work nearly as well. I'm giving up on that one and getting a second one for my second monitor.

I was having some neck strain from my monitor sitting too high above my desk on a shelf that overhangs the writing surface. The desk is a very nice glass and chrome style that I otherwise was happy with, so I took a chance on purchasing this arm in hopes that I could manipulate the height of my 20.1 inch monitor. The silver color perfectly coordinated with my desk and other furniture and this thing is HEAVY DUTY. I was actually afraid that it might be too heavy duty for the desk and I gingerly tightened it onto the surface of the glass/metal shelf and it and the shelf and desk stood firm. There are many ways to adjust heights and angles and tilt, so I believe it would probably be useful to correct and variety of positional challenges that others might me experiencing as well. RECOMMEND WITHOUT RESERVATION!

I have tried other monitor arms, but the Ergotron LX Desk Mount is the best. Great design, quality solid build, stylish looks. Easy to assemble and adjust. The instructions pamphlet and product info sheets are really well done also. Nice illustrations, both print and PDF. I'm really satisfied with the Ergotron LX Desk Mount. I'd buy another. I'd recommend it to friends. I'm using it with a Apple Cinema Display 20" at 14.5 pounds.(6.6kg) The Ergotron LX handles it no problem. It really "floats" just like they say. Although, have to buy the Cinema Display VESA mount adapter separately. (M9649G/A) Buy.com had the best price on the Ergotron LX (Dec 2007)

This is an excellent product. It sets up quickly and works flawlessly. It's well constructed and highly versatile, and no slipping down the mounting pole as I've seen in other monitor deskmounts. The adjustments all require some tool work, but it's straightfoward and you'll only have to do it once. The only minor downsides are the plastic cable management tabs seem like they might break after a lot of flexing; and if you're planning on using this to mount a monitor clamped to the side of a desk adjacent a wall, the monitor will stick out over your desk at good 8-12"-- not necessarily a problem, it's probably just me needing a lot of deskspace in front of my monitor. Overall I really can't recommend this enough. Don't forget it's delightfully inexpensive compared with similar products (excluding, of course, the cheap ones that look flimsy).

I have tried several monitor arms and this was going to be my last. I am constantly moving around at my desk, standing and moving from side it side in my chair. I am much taller than my wife and ergonomics is very important to both of us. This easily meets my requirements of 1) easy to move 2) can rotate to Portrait when I have a full page I would like to look at without scrolling down [I have a 22” wide screen] 3) can add a 2nd monitor, which will be soon [with the purchase of a 2nd arm] 4) STAYS WERE I PUT IT WITHOUT MOVING!!! Worth the price! Don’t waist you money on the cheaper ones like I did.

Excellent product. Little pricy, but turns out it was worth it. I use an Acer 22" widescreen monitor with the arm. It holds it perfectly. I love the fact that it cleared up a massive area on my desk. I have a corner desk, so the space normally taken up by my monitor is open to set papers and items I am working on. I really enjoy the flexability of being able to move the monitor close, far, or any direction. This is very helpful when my eyes get tired... I found I will even tilt it up, so when I am running back and forth from my desk, I can complete tasks without sitting down. If you invest in a nice LCD monitor, this is the only way to go!

I was not expecting this product to be of this quality but I must say if your in the market for a desk mount this is definetly the one to get I currently have a 24 inch monitor thanks to buy.com mounted on this arm and it looks amazing do yourself a favor dont think about it be about it will not regret...

I bought this arm to replace the original one for my Samsung 213T. The original support won't go below 4" above surface (landscape mode), which is too high for me. Two problems I found: one was that I think the 213T is a little beyond the limit of weight for the arm (considering that it is much more than 2" deep). Two tension adjustments went fine but the one for tilting the monitor forward and backward (up and down) was worrisome. I had to increase the tension a lot. Eventually, it got steady but I'm not sure it will last. I may need to increase it again. What if it reaches the end of it? Also, turning left and right only the arm head (where the monitor is attached to) is difficult, requires more force than I think would be wise and there is no adjustment. But, overall, I am pleased with the product. Buy.com had the best price and the delivery was free and very fast. Thanks buy.com!

I use this arm to support a 19 inch LCD monitor. It needed a slight adjust out of the box the prevent a slow "sag" in the height but otherwise, worked perfectly. It can mount another arm for a second monitor and, overall, it is built like a tank! I would positively buy this product again!.

This Ergotron LX LCD arm is stylish, elegant, good looking, and way functional. It's easy to assemble and adjust. The silver finish perfectly matches all the silver on all the rest of my HP and other equipment. Offers multiple mounting options, and is smooth and easy to use. I'm trying to figure out where I can use another one!

I purchased the Ergotron LX Desk Mount LCD Arm - 45-179-194 and Ergotron LX Desk Mount Notebook Arm - 45-192-194 from buy.com and have been delighted with both acquisitions. Both units were well packaged and transported via commercial mode without issue. Products are of high quality, durable, and have a substantial feel. The installation and assembly instructions provided by Ergotron were clear, concise and easily followed. Once all packaging was removed and parts laid out -- everything was assembled and functioning within 15 minutes. The factory tension settings were fine out of the box but I elected to tighten the tension on the version supporting my Veiwsonic 22 inch HD LCD. As for the notebook arm, I installed it without hassle and no tension adjusts have been made. Factory settings are working well for me at present. However, tension settings may easily be adjust on all moveable joints with the supplied allen wrenches. You can tighten to make the movement less flexible, or loosen tension so the joints move more freely. These mounting arms are worth every penny, they will last for generations, this is a solid product and when comparing be sure to match apples with apples and oranges with oranges. There are lesser grades of mounting arms available but you will be better served to pay a little more for the quality that's built into the Ergotron's. Personally, I don’t believe you will find a better made product at these prices. I’ve researched for over two years before making my decision. The warranty is 5 years on the Ergotron brand where the competitors is one year or less.

Product is very sturdy and easy to use. Ten minutes after opening the box I had everything up and working. I have a 19in widescreen monitor and now I can move it into any position that's suited to my sitting arrangement.

We researched long and hard on the internet before ordering this monitor arm. The fact that the single post could also hold an additional monitor or a laptop platform, was one of the reasons we went for this one. Let me say that this was super easy to set up right out of the box. Good instructions, which seems unusual these days, and it went together fast and we were using it in about ten minutes. The one thing we had a tad of difficulty with was getting the up and down movement tight enough that the monitor didn't float downward. The adjusting bolt is a tad difficult to reach with the included handle wrench, but once we finally got contact with it, we were able to adjust the tension and now all is well. We would highly recommend this unit. It is attractive, doesn't take up much space, and works like the write-up claims. Five Stars!
