5 of 5 Good overall - and ink cost is good Thursday, February 28, 2008 A Customer from OKC, OK
I won't rehash what everyone else has said. It's a great machine. That's why the pros buy Epson.
But several criticized the ink consumption. Here's the deal. All printers, not just Epson, ship with low capacity cheap cartridges. You use them up quick and come back for more.
But when you buy next time, buy the high capacity. The cheaper ones are for people who print very little and care less for the cost per print than for the cost per purchase. The higher capacity costs a little more and print like 4 times as much. So you can pay up front and save money, or save up front and it costs more in the end. Was this review helpful?

I previously purchased the older model. I've had a great experience with it. The color or B&W copy part of it is great! This printer was immediately identified by my Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon) laptop as well. I didn't have to go through any configuration steps besides plug it in. The scanner was not detected automatically. I haven't messed with that part much though. I just needed a good printer and copier. The quality seems fine for all the purposes I need. I'll leave the picture printing to Walgreen's.
Overall great printer! Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good printer Wednesday, February 20, 2008 A Customer from Seattle, WA
Overal, I'm happy with the printer. Scanner and copier work as expected. It's not a supper nice scanner, but it does the job at a reasonable price. The only thing I'm concerned is when it's time to replace the ink though, since it's fairly expensive compared to the cost of the printer. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Very Good Value... Sunday, February 10, 2008 A Customer from Harwinton, CT
Print quality is excellent, as is scanner function.
Easy to operate, documentation is precise and to the point.
Only unknown is ink consumption, which will be known shortly.
Very good value at this price. Was this review helpful?

Basically purchased it for the scanner. Did print off several pictures and there seems to be a blue hue on most of them. Not sure if it's the printer or my lack of following directions. Easy enough to set up but wouldn't use it for pictures I wanted to keep. Was this review helpful?

Yes it has a great price, yes it has some decent features. I HAD one of these and bought it for a similar price. Within the 1st 3-4 months of "normal" daily usage (which was very minimal) I must have spent the cost of the printer in new ink cartridges! These things are horrible. If you don't mind spending the cost of the printer a couple times of year in ink then by all means--buy one! Was this review helpful?
