5 of 5 Great for laptop Wednesday, June 10, 2009 Chris from Harrisonburg, Virginia
Product works as advertised. Primary use is with spreadsheets, docs, and web browser. No noticeable impact on PC resources. Flash videos run smoothly with no delay. Have not tried other videos sources. Using it with a Toshiba Satellite A205 laptop with a 17-in Dell 1704FPT Flat Panel Display (1280 x 1024). Also running a 22-in wide-screen display linked to the laptop’s VGA output. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Apple/mac (intel processor) friendly Thursday, May 28, 2009 A Customer from fargo, nd
Works on Apple computers with Intel processors. You just need to visit mfr's site to download the driver.
The mfr released drivers this past winter ('08). I have 2 displays attached to my MacBook. A 24" monitor with the mini-DVI port and a 17" monitor with the UV12. It works really nicely. At first, I got a black screen on the USB monitor, but after a reboot with the USB-Monitor plugged-in, it displayed just fine.
Now... I've only been running it for 5 minutes, but one little quirk, when I dragged my iTunes window over to the USB-Monitor, it was invisible for 2-3 seconds and tehn it appeared.
Note, the device doesn't suppport OpenGL stuff (apps like iMovie, Keynote, and a few others). read more at the mfr's website.
It is really good for Word, Mail, browser windows -- basic stuff. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great product Thursday, April 23, 2009 A Customer from North Brunswick, NJ
Installation is simple. After 3 minutes, I got two 19" LCD displays (+ laptop screen) just like 1-2-3. Notice that its highest resolution is 1440, so you can't use 22" LCD for native resolution of 1680. Except this, it is perfect. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Great product Monday, March 09, 2009 Fernando from Glendale, California
I needed an adaptor to connect my HP Mini 1000 to a video projector at work. However, the HP Mini does not have a conventional VGA port, and their VGA adaptor cable is not available yet (and will probably be priced at $70-100 when it does become available). What I like about this product is that it is compact, low-price, and connects your laptop to a video projector or another monitor using the USB port. It was very easy to install the software on my laptop, and any adjusting of the screen size can be done easily. I would stick to the recommended hardware settings as this requires at least a 1.2GHz processor (which explains why I got a poor performance when trying this product with a Pentium III). Easy to use; highly recommended. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works as advertised Monday, March 09, 2009 A Customer from St. Louis, MO
Using this on a Dell Optiplex 755 tower since I couldn't add an extra video card for a third monitor. Hooked up to a Viewsonic VP201b - running perfectly - would buy again for sure - using it to run email/notepad etc - works perfectly for that kind of stuff. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works great! Sunday, March 01, 2009 Geoff from Eden Prairie, MN
Using this with a Dell laptop (XP Pro, 32bit), had some trouble installing the driver initially, but resolved that and now it works well. Just doing office things with it, but never had any lag or any visual distortions. Great for getting a third head! (package was missing USB cable and DVI-VGA adapter, but a quick email to EVGA support and they resolved it immediately!) Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 little box full of surprises Wednesday, February 25, 2009 Dan S from Buffalo, NY
Although I had some difficulty installing (a reboot and reinstall solved the problem) and I was hesitant to spend any money on such a device... I now don't know why I never bought something like this years ago! It works very well with only the rare hiccup (once a week the main screen goes black for several seconds). Even with the DVI to VGA adapter I've noticed no lag in Windows or standard applications. I use it for work, so I haven't tried any high fps gaming. It's a great way to get dual monitors at work without having to open up the system. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent low-cost solution for 2nd monitor Monday, December 08, 2008 Mike Banville from Bozeman, MT
When researching options for adding a 2nd monitor to my desktop, colleagues told me I would have to buy another video card and connect through that. I told them about this USB solution, but they were skeptical. I called the company and asked pre-sales questions about its capabilities and was satisfied enough to try it.
The installation CD that came with the product did not immediately recognize my Vista 64 system, but a quick check of driver updates on their site had the install complete perfectly. The device is quite good and I would recommend it to folks needing good basic graphics for business applications. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 It Just works Saturday, November 01, 2008 Jim DeRosa from Westford, MA
This is my second EVGA module. I've got one running a second monitor on my Vista system and the other running a 3rd monitor on my XP laptop. Easy set-up, simple control panel, no noticeable performance lag for normal office apps that I can see. Everything you need in in the box.. connector adapter and nice compact retractable usb 2.0 cable. Wish all products stood up to the claims like this one. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Not bad Friday, October 10, 2008 RLM Techie from New York, NY
I use it to connect a 3rd monitor to my PC. My PC already has a dual video card. Since the monitor is VGA and the adaptor is DVI native, the mouse seems to move a bit slower on the 3rd monitor. Set up was easy although it was not straightforward in the beginning on my Vista machine. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works fine Monday, September 29, 2008 Bill from Warrenton, VA
I am a Senior Technical Writer subcontracting to another firm. The monitor they provide is only a 15" LCD. I wanted the capability to have multiple documents open at the same time and see them full screen without switching back and forth. The UVPlus does the job for me, at a reasonable cost. It took me about 5 minutes to install, and does what I need.
On occasion there is some hesitation when moving my mouse cursor between screens but for my use it's only a minor issue. If you have the need for multiple screens to be seen full size and have an extra monitor laying around, this does the job. Was this review helpful?
