Season 2 of the Emmy® Award-winning Downton Abbey returns as The Great War rages across Europe, and not even the serene Yorkshire countryside is free from its effects. The men and women of Downton are doing their part both on the front lines and the home front, but the intensity of war only serves to inflame the more familiar passions--love, loss, blackmail, and betrayal.

"...seamlessly picks up where the original began...  Variety

Editor's Note
This release compiles every episode from the second season of the award-winning series DOWNTON ABBEY, a show that brings viewers inside a British estate during the first world war as the staff and the family deal with sex, love, betrayal, and blackmail.

Professional Reviews

TV Guide 10 of 10
The sprawling narrative reveals people at their best and worst, but it's the moments of grace that stand out and move us deeply - including a poignant wedding likely to make any Downton devotee weep. "All this unbridled joy has given me quite an appetite," says Violet following an especially miraculous reversal of fortune. For those of us who hungered for a year to witness these new chapters, the appetite is insatiable.

Wall Street Journal 10 of 10
The stately world of "Downton Abbey" has been transformed, in season two, to a far darker one - a universe wholly in the grip of the war raging in France, and the fear and loss that touches every house, every class. The opening images, set in 1916, are of trench warfare, but there will be notably few of these, or any other battle scenes. The Great War instead comes home to Downton Abbey - and it does so with a heart-rending clarity that sustains and elevates the series' second season in ways that make it altogether superior to the first.
