I purchased this router approximately 1 year ago at Best Buy and paid much more for it. It is fantastic, only thing I wish would work is running both 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz simultaneously. However even though I am forced to run it in 2.4 Ghz so my XBox 360 can connect wireless G to it, it works great. I am using this in a 2200 sq ft. 2 story house, router is at one end on bottom floor, wireless Xbox 360 on top floor half way down the house. I get a solid signal, have never had to reset the router as the other reviewer said. I love the WISH (Wireless Intelligent Stream Handling)setup and have given my Xbox priority over any other wireless traffic. Using N adaptors on our computers we get about 300-400 Mbps connection. Can't wait for Microsoft to come out with a wireless N adaptor for Xbox. Great router even if you don't do any gaming, even better if you do, out performs and Linksys router I've ever used. 3 of 5 Not so great Tuesday, June 03, 2008 Rob from Washington State
I bought this wireless router thinking it will surpass the coverage and performance of an existing Linksys G router...Well I was disappointed...This wireless does not do good if your game console or another computer is farther than 25feet...I expected to have a better range coverage but at the end I was disappointed..I purchased the data link wireless N adapter with it and at about 25 feet distance the data transmission is very slow (up and down from 10 to 20mbps)and the signal is up and down as well from low-to-good, once in a while it will disconnect. The only way to fix the problem is to manage to get the wireless router closer to those devices, not something I wanted to do. I was expecting a better performance/coverage for this expensive equipment.
I hope this helps.

I have owned several wireless and setup countless more for other people and this is one of the nicest home network routers I've seen. Very robust with tons of features, so far I have not found anything that I can not do with it (maybe disabling wireless admin access but I access mine with wireless from time to time anyway). Set up is easy as with every D-Link I've owned. Has great performance as you would expect from a gaming router. I replaced the D-Link 4300 with this and my laptop which uses N is getting about 130Mbps vs about 40Mbps with my old router from the same spot in the house. I haven't tried the 5ghz signal because I have other computers, 360, and PS3 that run on 2.4ghz G, so I'll have to stick with the mixed N+G 2.4ghz signal. The performance is strong enough that I don't mind. The range improved as well over my old 4300 router by about 25% or so. It has a great LCD display as well, not only does it look cool, it actually gives you useful information. Overall the best router I've owned. Was this review helpful?
