5 of 5 Good Product Monday, May 18, 2009
Amit Mitra from Torrance, CA

I bought this product back in 2005. I have been using it without any problem, would surely recommend this. This one was one of the first product I bought from Buy.com and is very happy with their service till date.

5 of 5 Second One I Bought! Saturday, March 01, 2008
Dusty Baker from Waldport, Oregon USA
With all the USB devices ranging from external hard drives to Christmas Trees to desk fans, cameras to thumb drives and everything in between, most of us are "USB Port Starved". No more. The DB-H4 USB 2.0 hub is THE answer. And being an active hub, it will even charge your Zune with the computer is off. I first bought one for work, and now, I can't live without it at home. The ONLY caveat... This is a USB 2.0 device. It supports USB 2.0 only when connected to a USB 2.0 port on your computer. It will not magically convert your older slow computer's USB 1.0 Port to a USB 2.0 Port. Also, even when the DB-H4 is plugged into your USB 2.0 Port and breezing away supporting your USB 2.0 devices, the moment you plug a USB 1.0 device into the hub, the whole hub and your computer port become USB 1.0. If you need more USB Ports, BUY THIS PRODUCT! (Manufacturer support is outstanding too!)

2 of 5 Not dependable Saturday, February 02, 2008

Works ok on my desktop pc but frequently locks up my laptop - through D-Link USB 2.0 adapter. Running Win XP on both computers.

5 of 5 Hub does what it promises Thursday, April 26, 2007
A Customer from Chapel Hill, NC
The USB hub was easy to install and to use, right out of the package. I have had it for only a little over a week, but so far I have absolutely no complaints: zero problems, good performance.

4 of 5 An easy choice Wednesday, April 04, 2007
A Customer from Longmont, CO
A good product at a good price. It installed easily and is working well. I was pleased that it came with longer power and USB cables - they didn't skimp. Two issues: the power LED is very bright and lights up my bedroom at night; I had to cover it with tape. And when any port is used, the port LEDs on all ports are lit. Not sure why they bothered with all the LEDs.

5 of 5 Great Powered USB Hub Friday, January 19, 2007
mjr from San Diego, CA
It does exactly what it says. It's a powered hub, extremely simple to install. This is a no-brainer. I purchaed a D-Link 4-port hub for work, and a 7-port hub for my home PC. My only regret is that I didn't buy 2 of their 7-port hubs. USB Devices are like rabbits...you never have enough ports! But if all you need is a great 4-port USB hub, then this is the one to buy.

4 of 5 Good buy Saturday, October 07, 2006
A Customer from Springfield, OR
All in all, I'm satisfied. Haven't had any problems, but the USB 2.0 ports seem to have a little play in them with the peripherals I've got plugged in, so if they're bumped or moved, they have about a 50% chance of disconnecting - not actually disconnecting from the port, but just enough contact break for my computer to think that the peripheral has been disconnected. Then, jiggle it back and you're reconnected. A little annoying, but liveable. It's extremely lightweight, and quite small. It doesn't put out any heat at all, which is also nice.

4 of 5 D-Link DUB-H4 4-Port Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Hub Friday, January 20, 2006
Frank J. Del Grosso from Philadelphia, PA
Received the hub yesterday & was a breeze to install but noticed the 4 LEDs illuminate regardless of # of ports in use. Not sure what the point was to provide an LED for each port since all 4 show active status even when only one port is used. By the way, Buy.com provides SUPER FAST delivery & service...this is NOT a paid endorsement!

5 of 5 Top notch hub, but . . . Tuesday, December 20, 2005
GeeJay from Kemah, Texas
I cannot find a better way to describe this hub but "top notch". Great quality. Excellent price considering what you get. But . . . there are two things you will not find out until you get it. Firstly, the DUB H4 will not work unless you connect it to a 120V AC outlet. The exception is a Flash Drive. Laptop users with no access to power should consider GoldX GX-3006 which is another "top notch". Secondly, should you connect an USB 1.1 device, any USB 2.0 device connected to the hub will work only at 1.1 speed. If you can live with all of this, you cannot go wrong with the DUB H-4.

5 of 5 Very useful Saturday, September 24, 2005
A Customer from Michigan
Its so sleek and useful that I can just as well connect any number of devices. I was able to connect my printer, Camera, scanner all of which used USB to connect. I didnt have to fiddle with connections and disconnections every time I had to connect one of this device. Great utility.

2 of 5 Short lifespan; difficult product support Tuesday, September 20, 2005
fram4 from Moodys, OK
It worked ok for about 8 months, then began crashing my computer whenever I attached more than 1 peripheral. Then I noticed the power light was off. It took 3 phone calls and waiting time approaching an hour to get D-link to agree that it was defective and to let me return it to them, then a session on-line to get a return authorization. I understand that sometimes a product will go bad, but why make it so hard for the customer to get it fixed? I will avoid d-link products in the future because of their clunky customer support.

4 of 5 D-Link USB Hub Wednesday, September 14, 2005
A Customer from Las Cruces, NM
its a great item for your desktop but not as handy for a laptop. It needs an extra power source. It serves me good purpose as I use my laptop more like a desktop. Its easy to use.

4 of 5 A good USB hub Friday, April 01, 2005
Aaron from Del Mar, CA
You simply plug stuff in. There are zero setup instructions. It does require an AC Adapter. I have been using it everyday for over a year and rarely have problems with it. Every once in a while it needs to be powered down and plugged back in; but this is true for all electrical devices. A good purchase overall.

5 of 5 Clean and Simple Wednesday, March 16, 2005

Combined this hub with the D-Link DUB A2 PCI card. Plugged them in to an older XP system and they have never failed. All accessories should work this well.

4 of 5 Very good hub Tuesday, February 15, 2005
A Customer from Burlington, Vermont
The only problem I have with this 4-port hub is sometimes it doesn't detect my printer when I plug it in. I have to unplug the hub and replug it in for my printer detection. Otherwise, it works great.

5 of 5 Truely Plug and Play Friday, December 17, 2004
Mark from Cincinnati, OH
My desktop computer only had 2 USB ports and I had twice as many USB devices. This USB hub was a breeze to install. Just plug into an existing USB port, plug in the power cord, and hook up your USB devices and your ready to roll. It is truely that easy!!! By the way, I am not running a high-end computer. It is a Dell Dimension Pentium III 450 MHz with Windows 98.

5 of 5 Just Works(TM) under Linux Tuesday, December 14, 2004
jeffreypants from Baltimore, MD
This thing Just Works(TM). I use Fedora Core 2 on a Dell laptop. There is no fuss whatsoever -- plug this item in and it works immediately.

Also, I discovered that I could use the hub *without* plugging it in to the power supply! (At least for low-power items like a USB keyboard and mouse and CF card reader. I imagine an external hard driive or CD-RW or other higher-power item will need to have the hub plugged in to a power source.) This makes this hub much more portable than I first thought it was going to be when I got it home!

5 of 5 Works like a charm Monday, November 29, 2004
Billy from Tampa, Florida
Did a lot of research to find the right hub at the lowest price and settled on this one. Ordered it, got it in the mail in three days (free Shipping), plugged it in and attached a scanner, lazer printer, and inkjet printer and everything worked without hitch. I recommend highly.

5 of 5 Works great Tuesday, August 31, 2004
A Customer from Albuquerque, NM
Had a bunch of older PCs that would not sync with PDAs. Turns out many older PC's usb port do not provide enough voltage for a PDA. Installing these usb hubs solved the problem. Plus, more ports!

5 of 5 Great product! I'm totally satisfied! Wednesday, June 16, 2004
A Customer from Rockville, MD
I've had this 4-port hub for close to 3 months and have not experienced any problems whatsoever. Installation was fast and easy. The hub looks solid and well-built. Currently I've got a laser printer, a memory card reader (bus-powered), and a Wacom tablet plugged in. With the USB 2.0 speed, I'm getting blazing fast read/write speeds with my card reader.

5 of 5 Works under linux. Sunday, April 25, 2004

Both RedHat 7.3 and Fedora Core 1 immediately detected my D-Link 4 port USB hub at boot. This hub works like a charm for both light-weight devices like mice and more intensive devices like cd recorders.

5 of 5 Plug it in and it does the rest! Wednesday, March 31, 2004
Joel from Lehi, UT
This thing could not be easier to use or more convenient. I plugged it in and it has worked perfectly ever since. On small drawback or benefit depending on how you are using yours is that it has a power adapter rather than being USB powered. This means that you can use peripherals that require more power, though. I love it!

5 of 5 It Works! It Really Works! Friday, September 05, 2003
optional from Richmond, VA
I bought a 4-port USB hub from some wierd company a year or two ago and it died on me. Then in the store I saw this cute little 4 port USB hub with USB 2.0 to boot! I went home plugged it in and it's been working ever since. I have no complaints and I notice the USB 2.0 difference when I transfer files off my external hard drive. SWEET!
