The product worked as promised. The increase in speed was not as much as I had hoped. This may be owing to the fact that my computer can only accept 2gb of ram. It helped a lot but was not a slam dunk. Web pages do load quite a bit faster, though. All in all it was worth the money. Buy.com is my store of choice. Was this review helpful?

I had just bought 2 of the "reconditioned" IBM Thinkpad T43s from Buy.com for the great price of $295 (it has since become $289) and wanted it to upgrade the 512MB RAM to the full 2GB capacity. Fry's Electronics offered the memory at a better price but they are often"out of stock" so I bought it at a "good price" of $25 & $5 shipping from a Buy.com merchant who had it in stock. The T43 has two memory slots you need to access in to order to utilize the max. capacity of 2GB of RAM...one on the bottom & one under the keyboard. I was initially wary of removing the keyboard, but the instructions on the IBM/Lenovo site was very specific & easy to follow (the keyboard came out & went back in much easier than I expected). It took about 10 min. to install the 2GB upgrade & when I rebooted, the T43 recognized the increased RAM immediately. The T43's now rip. Matter-of-fact I am typing this review on one them. My wife's Dell Inspiron 6000 had 512 Meg RAM, she always complained of slow/locking up. Found this 2 Geg RAM on Buy.com, confirmed it is compatible with the Dell Laptop and bought it at more than 40% savings. Arrived super fast, took 5 minutes to swap it into the Dell and Boom, the laptop is soooo much faster. She even opened 10 applications at the same time and that old 2005 laptop never blinked. I guess no need to replace that laptop until 2010, wish me luck. Was this review helpful?

My notebook had slowed down to a crawl so I thought I would give this a try. They were easy to install, just pop open the panel on the back of your laptop and the chips clip in without any tools. Super fast shipping from buy.com (as always). Received my memory in two days (no delivery on Jan. 1st). I installed this in a Dell XPS and had to remove the keyboard for one of them. Dell.com gave very easy instructions for doing so. It took a total of 5 min. to install both memory. Buy.com was less expensive than the crucial web site. My computer has never performed better. I have a HP DV6000t (please check manufacturers website or use crucial memory tester to see how much max memory you can utilize) My laptop has a max of 2GB or I would have bought a 4GB kit. The memory arrived in the mail quickly, and was a snap to install. Worked fine right away. Cannot believe any Laptop vendor will bait customers with laptops with 1 Gb of memory for a Vista system and imply it is sufficient !!! Bumping the Laptop memory from 1 Gb to 2 Gb does the trick.
The manufacturer takes a long time to follow through with the mail-in rebate.

Received the Crucial memory modules (2 pcs, each 1 GB) a couple weeks ago for my Compaq/HP laptop. The laptop had 512MB, which occupied both memory slots. I removed the cover on the bottom of the laptop, removed both existing modules, popped these in according to the instructions from HP, and started the computer. Booted like normal and everything was back up and running in less than 15 minutes. The computer runs a lot faster! Got a great deal at ~$15 after rebates. Was this review helpful?

There is not too much you can say about adding RAM to your PC or Laptop. I have used Crucial products before in other PC's and expanding the RAM on my Laptop was definetely necessary. Bought this for my Dell vostro laptop running Vista. The system was v.slow and Dell customer care recommended 2GB RAM to make it faster.
I installed this 2 GB RAM kit and the system had no problem recognizing it and the system performance improved dramatically. This is certainly good value for money.
