1 of 5 One DIMM of RAM is defective. Thursday, February 21, 2008

Both DIMMS worked fine for one day (long enough to install Windows and a few games). After that I started getting blue screens of death along with memory allocation errors. I ran a RAM testing program, memtest (not the german memtest86), moved the sticks, singly, from motherboard slot to motherboard slot, and discovered one of the two was defective. I will be attempting to return them next week for a new pair.
The other product ordered worked fine. The shipping was fast, at least. Was this review helpful?

Wouldn't load windows till I raised the voltage to 2 volts -
should run at 1.8 volts but won't on my board at 800 Mhz until the voltage was raised. Memory test confirms errors at standard voltage. Works fine now. Was this review helpful?

The corsair XMS2 2GB PC2-6400 800 Mhz DDR2 Memory is very stable and fast memory for the price. I suggest to anyone who is playing any video games has a good setup as well as at least Windows XP Pro good graphics cards(s) and to try to get 4 GB Ram Memory so the system can run smoothly without any glitches. I have just the 2GB and it runs fine with no hesitation but could do with more memory. The memory is great for the price and is very stable in running video games. I have run the demo crysis on my system with amazing results. Was this review helpful?
