5 of 5 Love it Sunday, March 01, 2009
A Customer from Bothell, WA

I am an IT pro and use it constantly. It's stored in my front pocket and not handled too gently at times. It's fast and very reliable (have owned several months now). I highly recommend this product

5 of 5 Corsair 8GB flash drive is a wiz!! Tuesday, February 10, 2009
jsm from Pocatello, ID
This drive is fast. It reads and writes much faster than my previous Cruzer. Although a little bulky on my keyring, I like the rubber protection. With the rebate, it costs only as much as a 4GB drive. Not too shabby.

5 of 5 Wow sure holds a lot of Data Thursday, November 06, 2008
olemacd from Sikeston, MO
This is a great Flash Drive. Besides the outside Streatch Material (rubber) it seems to be mounted in Metal inside. When but it a bind it will bend but can be bent back in correct shape. The ones with hard plastic will either break or make glue turn loose and will not straighten up.

5 of 5 Beats buying a brand name, expensive drive Wednesday, October 22, 2008
A Customer from Brooklyn, NY
Its simple, plug and play. No complaints. I use it solely for baby pictures!! Already half full and he's only 6 weeks old! Rebate helps with the value.

3 of 5 Good value, but it's a magnet for dirt Wednesday, September 03, 2008
A Customer from NY, NY
Because of its use of soft rubber for the outside, it attracts dirt like there's no tomorrow. I have to use scotch tape to pick off the dirt coating on the soft rubber outer shell. Bad design in this department.

5 of 5 Good price, reasonably fast, solid Wednesday, August 27, 2008
Art from Cincinnati, Ohio
A good solid feeling drive. I don't worry about it at all rattling around on my keychain. I was looking for something somewhat fast, that didn't cost too much. This seems to fit the bill. I was hoping for a little better write speed (particularly at the smaller Block Size end), but good for $30. Here's what the performance looks like... For Block Size(kb) - 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048, I got Write speed (mb/s) of 0.368, 0.525, 0.866, 1.687, 2.56, 3.766, 3.937, 3.67, 3.14, 3.402 and Read Speed (mb/s) of 3.725, 6.764, 10.683, 15.379, 19.723, 19.981, 20.145, 20.086, 20.178, 20.368. Sorry the review editor wouldn't let me display a table.

5 of 5 Awesome Product Friday, August 22, 2008
Mike from Hollywood, FL
It's a bargain and a super fast flash memory. It has performed outstanding for over a month without any flaws. Size or width is not an issue for me, but in the future it can use some reduction in size. It would also be great to have some kind of encryption software pre-installed so it will protect data in case of falling into the wrong hands. I would recommend it without a doubt, definitely a keeper.

A Customer from Flower Mound, TX
I read a few reviews on this before I bought it, but what sealed the deal was a neighbor that bought one. I found it to be quite fast as USB goes. I'm using it to hold music for my car stereo. Great buy for the money...

joe wolf from cleveland, Oh.
it comes in a sleak package wit a rubber exterior which might make it the one of choice for the person on the go. this 8 gb version could hold a whole movie so you could take it with you and play it on another machine. I recommend this devise as compared to some other brands i have tried.

5 of 5 Great device Friday, July 25, 2008
A Customer from Columbia, MD
Very pleased with this device. Nice speed, feels solid. Worked great with my Vista, XP, and Linux systems. Nice warranty also. Because it is think, on some systems might hit other USB device. I have a two inch extension I carry as well to eliminate that. I did notice people mention formatting the device with NTFS. Only issue with that is you are likely shortening the life of your flash. Flash has a limited number of writes and NTFS journals files, constantly writing to the drive. Just food for thought.

5 of 5 Does what it should Saturday, July 19, 2008
A Customer from Fremont, CA
This drive is fast and sturdy. I'm currently using it with Vista's ReadyBoost, which only works with flash drives capable of higher speeds. Less than $20 for an 8GB drive is a fantastic deal.

5 of 5 Rugged, reliable and a bargain Saturday, July 19, 2008
MetroDetroit DJ from Metro Detroit, MI
The feel of the product is fantastic due to the rubberized enclosed case. Files copy fast to it and the cap stays on the drive. The $20 rebate is nice (I hate rebates- I understand why companies do it because they spur sales and a lot of people will not send them in but I hate them).
Overall, it performs great and the price is right.

5 of 5 Very good price versus value Wednesday, July 16, 2008
A Customer from Indianapolis Indiana
Priced well, no complaints at all. The rubber coating is fine. I use it for video thru a DVD player. Enough memory to hold a dual layer DVD, or 2 to 3 seasons of old TV shows. I haven't checked the speed against my other flash drives but you can certainly play back .avi files without sync or other problems. I have even played some files that, when presented on DVD, have audio sync problems but play fine with the flash drive thru the player. Fine product.

5 of 5 Corsair just works Tuesday, July 15, 2008
A Customer from Fremont, CA
Many flash drive companies sacrifice speed to save in cost. Corsair, however, does not make this sacrifice. I have owned four Corsair flash drives and they have all worked flawlessly. Great speed, reliability and durability. I even had one run over by a car and baked in the sun for a few days. I just had to reshape the metal connector and all my data was still there! My ONLY gripe about this particular line is the fact that its not too hard to misplace the cap. Some convenient flash drives have a 'connected' top so if you have it on a keychain, you can't lose it. On this one, it can fall off without you noticing. I usually keep mine on the lanyard which has worked well so far. Note: 1 of the 4 drives I have has a loose cap, the others are tight and harder to lose. Great product and until they do me wrong, I will always buy this line of flash drives. Don't sacrifice for the competitors.

4 of 5 No Complaints Thursday, July 10, 2008
A Customer from Randallstown, MD
No problems noted. (I've had the drive 10 days now.) It is a bit fat, but nothing extraordinary. One one computer & could plug 2 (different) drives in at once, on another 1 at a time, or I would need to use the included patch cord. Speed. Nothing spectacular, but dog slow either. When I first got the drive, copied 5GB to it (mostly MP3s) in about 15 min. Later, I copied those same files off (& more), totalling 8GB, 1600 files, in about 30 min (to an older, slower computer). Thats fine & nothing more nor less then I would have expected. ... No issues with the cap. Others have said it is loose & you'll lose it. ... The "in use" indicator (blue led) is visible regardless of orientation. ... Pricing was excellent. Warranty is 10 years. OCZ forum seems responsive. ... The drive itself is "rubberized". That has a slight tendency to pick up lint. It is more oval (oblong) then rectangular, so if I have it sitting on my car seat, it is more apt to slide (roll) then if were a simple rectangular shape. (That is contrary to what you would expect.) Color is basically black. For a device that could conceivably be misplaced, I would have preferred coloring that stands out (even hot pink). When carrying the drive, I keep it in my pocket. Because it is slightly large & because it is rubberized, it doesn't really move around. More it kind of sits there like a lump. More noticeable compared to other drives I have (PNY, Kingston, Memorex) that kind of disappear in my pocket & slide, as needed, to "where the space is". ... These are just little nits & do not detract from the overall usefulness of the drive. The rubberizing probably more a marketing gimmick then anything else.

5 of 5 Corsair Cuts the Mustard Wednesday, July 09, 2008
Larry Parker from Eugene, Oregon
I have purchased several Corsair USB drives over the years. They have all worked perfectly out of the package and all continue to perform perfectly today. I do not use any of the encryption software; so, I have no basis to comment. However, for my purposes, they work great as a durable USB storage device.

5 of 5 Great price for a speedy USB Drive Tuesday, July 08, 2008
A Customer from Wilmette, IL
I use this to move those big 4.5G movies between my computers. I reformatted the device to NTFS to support big files, and the transfer speed is very fast (not as fast as my USB External HD, probably 1/2 of the speed, but much faster than my 100M Ethernet). I am happy to unplugged the power adapter for the USB External HD with this!

5 of 5 Great Flash Drive! Saturday, May 24, 2008

This flash drive is really fast. I lost my 4G Corsair Voyager and then bought a 8G one. The only thing is that the lid of the 8G Corsair is not as tight as the previous 4G one.

5 of 5 The best USB flash drive I've had so far Wednesday, May 07, 2008
A Customer from Kentucky
This is the fifth USB flash drive I've owned, and the best. I researched flash drives at http://www.consumersearch.com , and the Corsair family got top marks. This Voyager seems to be the least expensive line among the Corsair models, but I'm quite pleased so far. (The more expensive models include the Voyager Survivor and Voyager GT.) I prefer to keep my flash drive on my keychain. Complaints with previous flash drives have been that the keychain loops on two previous drives -- one plastic, one steel -- broke off. This Corsair loop is made of durable rubber, and so far, so good. Another complaint from previous drives is losing the cap, such as off a stainless steel drive I once used. The Corsair's cap seems to stay on better, thanks to the friction provided by the black rubber. The Corsair Voyager is encased in rubber, which seems to provide considerable protection. It does make the drive fatter, and some users have said it make it more difficult to pull out of your pocket. But connected to my keychain, I have no difficulty withdrawing it from my pocket, and I quickly became accustomed to the thicker body of the drive. I haven't conducted any serious tests of upload/download speed. I did use this drive to transfer my entire iTunes library (about 7.7 GB) from my old computer to the new one. It took awhile -- 20 minutes, perhaps. But that's an extreme case. Most uploads take only an instant. I bought the 8 GB model because I wanted plenty of storage but was trying to keep my purchase less than $50. This one fit the bill. I would buy it again.

2 of 5 Unreliable during heavy daily use. Thursday, June 07, 2007
DaveD from Merrimack, NH
First of all, this is by far the fastest USB flash drive I have ever used. All claims regarding transfer rates are true, if not modest.

Having said that, I planned to [ab]use this USB flash drive the same way I used my previous 4GB Sandisk Cruzer. I run multiple PortableApps applications, such as Firefox, Thunderbird, FileZilla, Xnews, xchat, GnuPG (PGP), etc., off of the flash drive, so the drive is read/written constantly 10+ hours a day. Where the Sandisk drive lasted for more than a year (and still hasn't failed), I started seeing "Windows Delayed Write" errors within two weeks of constant use with the Corsair USB flash drive.

The drive may be good for occasional storage, but does not seem to stand up to the punishment of daily use.

5 of 5 Very solid and fast. Monday, April 30, 2007
Shane from Boston, MA
This flash drive is fast, solid and reliable. I didn't do exact speed testing, but I compared it to my Kingston Data Traveler II, which is a workhorse itself and the two performed fairly equally. I think the Voyager was slightly faster, but my tests were not precise enough to be sure. I loved the Kingston (2GB) but was looking to get something larger and the Voyager was such a great price I couldn't help but give it a try. I have been very satisfied with my choice so far. It's fast, durable and the rubberized coating makes me feel like it's well protected. The cap is also rubberized, which seems to help keep it on tightly when transporting the device. The rubberized coating tends to pick up dust and specks of things like microscopic crumbs or whatever the heck is in my pockets (I just put the thing in my pocket even though it comes with a lanyard). Speaking of, it's a pretty big lanyard, so if you are into showing off that you have a flash drive around your neck, this one will do the trick. :-)

I haven't tried the software that came with it. I'm not really into additional software - I just want a fast reliable drive to store stuff one and this does it very well.

The only thing I can complain about is what I read in some other reviews before buying - the width is a tad too big. I can still squeeze it in beside the other USB port on my laptop, but it's tight. I certainly couldn't put two of these type of peripherals side by side, but it works with my USB mouse beside it. Again, like the other reviews have said, the USB extension cable takes care of this issue (though only at home for me as I don't travel with the cable too).

5 of 5 Outstanding Product ! Wednesday, March 28, 2007
A Customer from Rye, New York
Not all flashdrives are created equal. I have had my share of flashdrives, and out of them all Corsair flashdrives are the best in my opinion, because the transfer rate is fast, the product is durable(almost indestructible), and most of all very reliable. I accidentally washed 1 GB Corsair flashdrive in a washing machine in my pants pocket a few years ago, and it still works like a charm to this day. I couldn't be happier with 1 GB and now 8 GB Corsair. The next higher GB flashdrive that I will purchase, because you can always use more backup (for those indispensable data), will also be Corsair.
