Product Guides

RangeBooster technology is a compatible add-on to standard Wireless-G that can nearly double your wireless network's range and increase its throughput by up to 35 percent. Unlike ordinary wireless technologies that are confused by signal reflections, RangeBooster uses two smart receivers at each end to detect and decode reflected signals at distances where standard technologies give up. You'll find that "dead spots" in the wireless coverage area are reduced, too.

The advanced security features make this solution ideal for your business. Advanced wireless security using Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA2) with up to 256-bit encryption, and Wireless Security Monitoring give your business the visibility and protection it needs. Used when Cisco® WUSB 200, WMP200 or WPC200 Wireless adapters are present, Wireless Security Monitoring alerts you of possible wireless intruders and vulnerabilities in the wireless deployment and gives you visibility into denial-of-service attacks.

The Cisco WAP200 Wireless-G Access Point lets you connect Wireless-G (802.11g) or Wireless-B (802.11b) devices to your wired network so you can add PCs to the network with no cabling hassle. Power over Ethernet (PoE) support makes it easy to install - you can mount the access point anywhere, even without ready access to a power plug. With appropriate PoE support at the other end, you need to run only one cable to the access point to deliver both data and power. Of course, you can also use the included AC adapter if power is available nearby.

The integrated quality of service (QoS) features provide consistent voice and video quality on both the wired and wireless networks, enabling the deployment of business-quality voice over IP (VoIP) and video applications.

Additional features like multiple basic service set identifiers (BSSIDs), wireless roaming, and auto-channel selection, make this solution ideal for your business.

5 of 5 Works great for small office Monday, August 24, 2009
A Customer from Orlando, FL

Love the dual SSIDs, use one for guests, one for employees. Planned on buying a couple, but just one covers whole office very well. Only using WPA2-PSK for simplicity, so can't vouch for other security configs.

5 of 5 Exactly what it claims to be Monday, October 27, 2008
A Customer from Tallahassee, FL
After significant frustration trying to convince consumer-grade routers to act as hubs only to have them quit working after a day or two requiring manual intervention, I opined to the higher-ups that this would most likely solve our wireless connectivity problems, and it did. The only problem that I've had with this WAP so far is during setup. When I changed a setting and rebooted, I could no longer connect to the AP. I thought that perhaps I changed the IP address inadvertently, and reset the AP, only to still not be able to connect. I finally tried changing the IP address of my computer by 1, and it connected. A strange glitch, but I haven't had a chance to check repeatibility since I upgraded the firmware, since the AP was already in use. After the initial glitch during setup, I haven't had to think about it, and I haven't heard a single complaint or been unable to connect. It works, and my life is just that much easier.

5 of 5 Connecting wireless devices made easy Tuesday, March 04, 2008
Tony White from Oakland, CA
Many of us at work but even at home have networks that are based on Ethernet cabling. But the need to support a growing number of wireless devices means we need an easy, secure way to extend to wireless.  The WAP200 makes this as easy as it can get. One time setup, and the device just works. Sys Admins go to it...

5 of 5 A very good business wireless access point Tuesday, November 27, 2007
Anthony White from Oakland, CA
I have set up a lot of wireless routers and access points for our small business WAN but none compare to the ease of setup and successful use than this Wireless G Access Point.
