They're aided by a new Bosley (Bernie Mac), in an adventure which pits them against a "fallen angel" (Demi Moore), their old nemesis, the Thin Man, and others. Editor's Note
CHARLIE'S ANGELS: FULL THROTTLE reunites Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, and Lucy Liu as they once again wage battle against some formidable opponents. This time around the three angels are on a mission to track down two stolen rings that contain encrypted information relating to the Witness Protection Program. Naturally the girls kick some serious butt, often facing some familiar villains in the shape of a returning Crispin Glover (as the Thin Man) and Justin Theroux (as Seamus O'Grady), a former beau of Barrymore's character. To further spice things up, there is an ex-angel, played by a shapely Demi Moore, who is rather keen on getting her hands on the rings, all adding up to lots of thrills and spills for the girls.Director McG returns from the original movie, this time upping the action ante with a series of spectacular stunts and CGI-assisted tricks. Employing a neverending array of celebrity cameo appearances, McG builds on the momentum of the previous movie and neatly balances the combination of comedy set pieces and action sequences. Cast and crew keep their tongues planted firmly in their cheeks throughout, leading to a not-too-serious romp that is a feast for the eyes.

| | Professional Reviews | Los Angeles Times "...As insistent as it is skillful..." 06/27/2003 p.C1Variety "...Bigger, sleeker and better than the first, sequel CHARLIE'S ANGELS: FULL THROTTLE is a joyride of a movie that takes the winning elements of the year 2000 hit to the next level..." 06/23/2003 p.22-31 Entertainment Weekly "...The stars are on top, straddling and driving the movie's actions chassis....Diaz, Barrymore, and Liu are never more triumphantly feminine than when they're trumping men at their own kick-butt game..." 07/11/2003 p.57 Sight and Sound "...McG gets top-notch performances from his stars..." 08/01/2003 p.41-2 Chicago Sun-Times 5 of 10 So what is it? Harmless, brainless, good-natured fun. Leaving Full Throttle, I realized I did not hate or despise the movie, and so during a long and thoughtful walk along the Chicago River (have you seen that wonderful fountain on the north bank, east of Columbus Drive?), I decided that I sort of liked it because of the high spirits of the women involved. - Roger Ebert James Berardinelli's ReelViews 4 of 10 The movie is chock full of cameos - everyone from the Olsen Twins to Bruce Willis to one of the original Angels gets a walk-on. After a while, it becomes distracting - kind of like playing "spot the celebrity." As a whole, the movie is an irritating blend of little things that work and big things that don't. After seeing the first Charlie's Angels movie, I exited the theater feeling buoyed and almost giddy. After Full Throttle, I was vaguely dissatisfied and somewhat irritated. If you can stand the repetition and lack of inventiveness and don't care about anything beyond the "eye candy" value, I suppose this movie has the capacity to entertain. But, like most hollow, shallow entertainment of this sort, it's probably best seen (if it must be seen) cheaper and later. - James Berardinelli

This movie should be in the library of every producer in Hollywood as an example of how not to make a movie. This movie was bad. Really bad. A stinker. The plot was nonexistent. Each of the bad guys had almost no time on screen, which left no time for character development. The angels spent most of their time dressed in a variety of costumes (nuns, welders, burlesque dancers), laughing together to show what good friends they are, or escaping ridiculous situations using ultrafake special effects. In fact, that seemed to be the plan for the movie: dress up the angels in costumes, put them in a ridiculous situation, and film it. Then do it again. There was also a lot of slo-mo leaping and jumping. They might as well have used cartoons. Personally, I'm getting really tired of special effect fight scenes that fail to even attempt to simulate reality.
This movie was bad. Really bad. The cleavage that was used to such great effect in the first movie, was as nonexistent as the plot in this one. Cameron Diaz character, who was childlike and innocent in the first movie, just seemed childish. Even the inclusion of Demi Moore and John Cleese could not save this movie.
This movie was bad. Really bad. Do not buy this movie. If you rent it on a 99 cent special, you'll feel cheated. An Italian director on a shoestring budget could have done a better job. And did I mention that this movie was bad? Really bad? Was this review helpful?

If you liked the first one, you'll love Full Throttle. The acting is much better. The action is off the hook. Highly recommend. Was this review helpful?

Being a devoted Charlie's Angels fan since the seventies, I wasn't sure if they could make a remake that would be even halfway believable..well after seeing the first one...even though there were many special effects that if you were to stop and think about it, were virtually impossible, but as a viewer of the movie, I found them to be believable, meaning as I watched the movie it didn't enter my mind that the kicks and stunts were not real.... but as for the second installement, I was kinda dissappointed, not saying I didnt like the movie, but I think they went WAY overboard on the stunts and special effects....while watching this movie it was obvious that the things they were doing were not at all possible...reminded me of a 'superhero' Superman/Batman type movie... I just think they went overboard and could have made it to be a little more 'believeable'....still a fan and will still buy the DVD, but I still think it was a little 'too much'...they could have utilized the talent and cast in more situations and not went as far as they did on the stunts and effects.. come on, Demi More jumping from a 20+ story building using a cape as a wing?
