Editor's Note
Comic genius Dave Chappelle trains his satirical eye on the vagaries of pop culture and race relations in his outrageous Comedy Central series CHAPPELLE'S SHOW. The edgy funnyman brandishes his unique style of streetsmart comedy to skewer everything from car commercials to the KKK, blending sketches, parodies, stand-up, and musical guest performances into a hilarious sendup of modern American life. This collection includes all 13 episodes of the series' second season, which introduces Eddie Murphy's brother Charlie and his classic real-life segments about singer Rick James.

Entertainment Weekly
"[T]he 13-episode run managed to jolt the near-dead sketch-comedy format back to life, infusing it with intelligence, anger, and a pop-culture awareness that never resorted to lazy parody." 05/27/2005 p.124

Entertain Your Brain! 9 of 10
Chappelle's Show has a basic setup. Chappelle comes out to a live audience and introduces (or sometimes warns) them about the upcoming skit. In between, he does a little stand-up, usually pertaining to the topic of the skit. The skits are very risk-taking too. In what could have been a huge water-cooler skit had this show been on a bigger network involved Chappelle portraying a KKK leader who has been blind from birth. His character has no idea that he is black, but he is so important to the cause that his associates don't tell him that fact...It is going to offend some people, but anyone who would be offended by the show most likely isn't ever watching Comedy Central (or shouldn't be.) If you like smart, no-holds-barred sketch comedy, check this show out. - Shawn McKenzie
