The imageCLASS MF3240 generates fast, high-quality laser documents at a fast 21 pages-per-minute. The 250-sheet front loading paper cassette and Single Cartridge System create effortless replenishing for continuous output. The imageCLASS MF3240 can quickly send and receive faxes using the built-in 33.6 Kbps Super G3 fax modem and incorporates a strong list of fax features, including eight one-touch speed dial numbers, 100 coded speed dial numbers, 256-page fax reception memory capacity, sequential broadcasting and activity reports. Optimized for speed, your projects will be accelerated with a USB 2.0 Hi-Speed interface. An optional external print server is available for increased productivity of your small office group.
For added productivity the imageCLASS MF3240 is equipped with color scanning and scanning software. Accepting originals up to 8.5" x 11.7" on the platen glass, you can transfer hardcopy documents into editable text on the PC using ScanSoft OmniPage SE Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software, or filed systematically with NewSoft and Presto! Page-Manager. Either Way, your scans will be achieved with optical resolution of up to 600 dpi, and an enhanced resolution of up to 9600 dpi. Color depth of up to 24-bit internal/24-bit output to help ensure scans are faithful to original documents.
The imageCLASS MF3240 not only produces outstanding output, it also has a stylish appearance that complements any small or home office.

I bought this laser printer because I was completely exhausted on the reliability of inkjet printers and the waste of money for ink replacements (usually costs more than the printer itself). I love the idea of this printer not needing replacement of toner for 2500 prints. I also found the replacement cartridge for under $50. Having the ability to make copies was a big plus. I have not used the scanning feature yet but have always had good luck with Canon. The first print comes out within 5 seconds even if the machine is cold. Copies just as fast. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. Almost forgot, the delivery was blazing fast - went with the free ground shipping and it showed up in 2 days. Fantastic purchase. Was this review helpful?

For the price, you can't beat this one. A very pleasant surprise was that the scanner is color, so not only is it handy for scanning and emailing docs, it works great for pix too.

con - NO on/off switch (important when the paper stuck, you need to unplug the power cord to get it started again); when the paper came out from manual feeding, the printing not as straight and place in the middle; quite loud overall

Purchased this unit on sale for under $100 - this was a great deal on a fast, high quality laser multi-function unit. I have used it only a little so far, but it is fast, the print quality is very good, it was easy to set up (if a bit large), and it came with a full toner cartridge. I am very sensitive to the printers that are sold with a partially filled toner/ink cartridge that forces purchase of replacements shortly after purchase of the printer. Was this review helpful?

For $75 on Black Friday, I honestly wasn't expecting a lot from this little printer. I was going for lower cost/page than present printer and a copier function, mainly. What a pleasant surprise! Even the $85 toner cartridge (full size) was included, although admittedly no USB cable (a super-cheapie item, so how folks can moan about this, I have NO idea! Almost no printers come with them, not just this one.) Only gripe: lack of sheet feeder since I'm spoiled from my HP C6180 All-in-One PhotoSmart with a great feeder (the HP also runs wirelessly in a multi-computer household). BUT: got this to do the black/white printing and copying since, as a an ABD working on doctoral dissertation, there is TONS of that, and this is more economical per page than the HP.
I have a couple of Canon cameras, and questioned how they'd be in the printer biz, but figured I could do worse: now, I'm not sure I could have done much BETTER!

PROS: FAST, ECONOMIC black and white copies from a 250 page limit page feeder makes for a very smooth and satisfactory printing experience for STUDENT, home or small office use. The COPIER function is also really efficient with a one click copy function. The SCANNER is relatively slower but is good enough for a printer that's so cheap (at least when I bought it) and it does deliver high quality color images. Getting 2500 PAGES is very economic for the PRICE of the TONER ($82)so this printer can be maintained at reasonable cost in the long run. I only bought the printer for $76 during black Friday with free shipping.
The printer came equipped with a free full capacity toner as well so it was a SUPER DEAL.
CONS/ISSUES: MINOR complaints like it's somewhat hard to remove paper jams which could be messy. The machine could have had a feeder for the scanning and copying functions as well but this is probably too much to ask for this cheap printer. Was this review helpful?

This printer is a typical quality Canon product. Out of the box and running in just few minutes. All functions work well and the print quality is excellent. I bought this unit during a sale and am very pleased with it after one month. It prints fast, copies fast, and of course is much cheaper to operate since it is a laser. I have not used the scanning part yet but I was pleasantly surprised to get a lightweight edition of Omnipage software with the bundle. The footprint is much smaller than I was expecting, in part because the scanning bay is relatively small. Overall, this was a great value for the money.
