I am using this to connect a USB webcam on the 1st floor of my house, to a PC in my basement. The total CAT5e cable run is about 60 feet, going through 1 patch panel and 2 wall outlets. This extender works great - all you do is plug in the CAT5e cable between the extenders, plug in the camera to the "remote" box, and plug in the "master" box to the PC. My PC doesn't even know the extender boxes are there.
