4 of 5 Awesome PSU Tuesday, December 23, 2008 domiNATE from Norman, Oklahoma
Gotta love a modular PSU. It would be great if the main power cables were modular also, since I don't need the 4-pin power cable. Other than that it's a great value for a great product. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Power Supply Sunday, December 21, 2008 A Customer from Irvine, CA
Everything you need in a PSU, although a little on the pricey side compared to non-modular, but you get what you pay for. The cables are a little on the stiff side, so there can be some issues when you want to route your cables into tiny areas. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Very good power supply Saturday, September 20, 2008 A Customer from Reno, NV
This is one of the best power supplies out there on the market. The voltage rails are very close to what the ideal value should be and it is not noisy at all. I would highly recommend this power supply to anyone who is looking into building a decent system but not going to run SLI or any real power hungry cards. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 lots of power Monday, September 01, 2008 sampasquale from oakville, ontario canada
i have had this psu for about 1.5 yrs and it runs like a champ, i have 6 hdd, q6600 cpu with aftermarket fan , 4gb of ram with cooling fan, 2 bfg video cards (no NOT 8800s)not to mention aftermarket fans on the gpu's , as well as 3 120mm fans with lights, 2dvd burners and this lil beauty does it all without a hiccup... and here is the kicker i JUST finished calculating the total wattage i should need (at a website) and it came up to 727 watts and i'm doing it with style and ONLY 520 watts and if the time comes that i need another psu i'll buy corsair AGAIN, but i think that wont be for a long time Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Very well built PSU Monday, April 21, 2008 A Customer from Toledo, OH
This is a very nice, quite, and modular PSU. The thin cables keep m,y case looking very nice and easy to bend around corners. With a total of 40AMPS on 12 rail, this should power most peoples needs and can even power some new SLI systems(8800GTS, 8800GT). So far my system has been stable with this new PSU. Phenom 9500, 8800GTS, DFI-790FX,2GB-XMS2,some fans and 2 drives. Get this PSU, you won;t regret it and corsair has amazing customer service. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 So far so good Sunday, April 20, 2008 Mike LaStelley from Lennox, CA
This PSU was rated highly by many web sites I reseached before purchasing. I can confirm that the PSU is Very, very quiet, so much so I kept checking to see if the fan was still running. It seems to put out all of the power I need. Since it seems to be running great I have no comment on Corsairs customer service & I hope it stays that way........Pros=Whisper quiet, Modular connections, has pci-e 6 and 8 pin connectors, Decent price, Very easy to install, Fits well in a Mid Tower case........Cons= no way to monitor fan speed, Sata data cable could be longer & spaced out more, sata power cable are flimsy & could be made a little stronger, System power cable coud be a tad bit longer Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Nice! Tuesday, April 15, 2008 A Customer from ATL, GA
I added the 520HX to my Dell 530. It was a super easy install and the modular cables keep things really nice in the case. I was having intermittent power problems from the stock PSU and now everything is working great. Customer service from Corsair is also super. I found their website very helpful and learned that extra cables are available if needed from them. Highly recommend this PSU even though it's a little more expensive than others. 5 of 5 Great PSU Sunday, April 06, 2008 A Customer from ATL, GA
Super nice PSU, runs cool and strong. I added the PSU to a Dell 530 and it installed quickly and easily. The modular cables are a BIG plus, especially for the Dell machine's tight fit small case. For those needing extra cables, go to Corsair's website forum section and they'll tell you how to get extra cables (it just takes a call or email to their customer service). The forum is super helpful if you need any help. I'd recommend this PSU without hesitation if your needs are moderate to high in terms of power. The 620 is available for most everything else and Corsair also has the new 1000 for anyone needing more watts and modular cables. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great PS!! Sunday, March 09, 2008 A Customer from CDA, Idaho
I am very happy with this purchase. It was so easy to install and the modular cables got rid of the tangled mess. Runs nice and quiet and gives ample power to my new geforce 8800GT. Was this review helpful?
1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Quiet bliss Tuesday, February 26, 2008 Jim from Glenmont, NY
This PSU was highly rated at the web sites I checked before purchasing. I can confirm that this thing is practically silent. My wife used to complain about the noise coming from my system, which I deteremined was the PSU. After installing this PSU it is impossible to hear it outside the case. The modular cables are very nice - first time I have had those - and made installation much easier. The only nit pick I can mention is that on the 520 model the SATA cables have two connectors on each cable; as I have three hard drives that meant I had to run two cables to that portion of the case. From the manual it appears that the SATA cables on the 620HX model have three connectors on each cable. Before purchasing a PSU check one of the online PSU calculators to see what you need - - I needed much less than I would have guessed. I used http://www.extreme.outervision.com/psucalculator.jsp Was this review helpful?

It does what it promises. This is a great psu for the price and it was more then enough juice for my new Q6600 build. I love the modular psu, it really helps with wire management. Would def buy again. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Does it's job. Friday, February 01, 2008 robush4 from atlanta, GA (georgia tech)
Seems to work well. Bought based on the overwhelming reviews and the fact that corsair has good customer service if anything goes wrong. they even scout out reviews that are negative and track down the reviewers in order to rectify the situation. also, the technical reasons i bought this are:
1.modular
2.has pci-e connectors (6 and 8 pin)
3.has 3 rails. with plenty of amperage for my needs.
all in all, the price here was best, though still high for a PSU. however, the proce diff between a middle rande and this was minimal for the peace of mind that it bought. whenever I am buying hardware, i look at the price difference between the components I am choosing between, not the overall price. I feel this helps, if not just psychologically. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 Broken after 4 months :( Tuesday, January 29, 2008 Jacob from Phoenix,AZ
I leave my computer on nearly 24/7. I turned it off to go on a trip and when I turned it back on, the power supply is making some very loud noises something is wrong with the fan.... :(
Going to have to send this back Was this review helpful?
1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 4 of 5 (almost) very good Monday, January 21, 2008 A Customer from Durham, NC
Pros:
- Compact, fits well in my P182.
- It is as silent as I hoped it would be and delivers stable power (as it is supposed to)
Cons:
- The ATX/CPU 8pin cables could be a couple of inches longer. The CPU 8 pin cable was a tight fit in my case - PSU placed at the bottom and cable had to get to the upper left corner of the Gigabyte GA-790FX-DS5 mobo while being routed "behind" the mobo.
Also, I had to install the PSU with the fan downwards
- the SATA power supply plastic (at least) is flimsy - much less robust than the one that came with my Seagate retail-kit disk. I actually managed to "break" one. Unexpected and unpleasant surprise.

I was very happy with how easy it was to install and it worked wonderfully for 6 months then I came home to find my computer would not start. I sent it back to the company under the 5 year warranty and one month later I'm still waiting for them to replace it. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 not shabby Sunday, December 02, 2007 A Customer from Prior Lake, MN

5 of 5 Very quiet PSU Thursday, November 29, 2007 MarkR from Dallas, Texas
Pros: Very, very quiet. I can see the fan blades spinning slowly, system stays cool. Modular cabling is awesome. After 30 days, still running well. Running Asus Crosshair, AMD 5000+ Blk Ed @3.21ghz, 4x1 Crucial Ballistix Tracers, RaptorX 150gb, evga 8800GT OC. Abundant cables.
Cons: Cables are stiff Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Need more SATA Cables!? Wednesday, November 28, 2007 A Customer from la, ca
If you need more SATA cables or if you need the 8-pin PCI-E connector (if yours came with 6-pin plugs), contact Corsair and they'll send you the cables you need for a shipping fee (small if in the US).

5 of 5 Good Value for Money! Wednesday, November 28, 2007 Shri from Bangalore, India
A fantastic power supply by Corsair! I bought this to support the XFX 8800 GTS video card I was planning to buy. Installation was very easy. The unit is really quiet under normal load. It also draws a lot less power than my previous PSU! Modular cables are very helpful in avoiding the clutter. However, Cosrair should think about making the connectors a bit more sturdy. They can easily break if not handled very carefully. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 This rocks Tuesday, September 25, 2007 dave from Albany, NY
this p.s. handles my (2) 7600 OTC cards, (2) 500gb hard drives that are RAIDed into a single 1TB drive, a DVD burner, CD burner, a Belkin 7 port hub, and even a 3.5 floppy inside of an Antec Nine Hundred case with all its fans without even burping...plus the cables are modular and easy to run and hide as well as organize so you only use what you need and airflow is maximum....the only downside was that I had to mount the Power supply upside down (on the bottom) in this particular Antec case but this is by far the best power supply I have ever owned...I hope to pick up their 620 in the future...well worth the money Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 You get what you pay for. Tuesday, September 25, 2007 A Customer from Grass Valley, CA
High quality unit made for Corsair by Seasonic. Not cheap, but a good value for the money. Nice packaging. Wish the EPS connector was modular -- that's my only complaint with it and why I knocked it down one point on "ease of use". Storage pouch for extra cables. Easy to install -- fits mid size tower with top fan -- no problem with space for modular cables. System has been totally stable with this PSU. Good looking unit with black cables. Very quiet. 4 of 5 Great Product with one major flaw Monday, September 24, 2007 A Customer from Rockingham, NC
The unit is great. Solid power for pretty much anything short of SLI/Crossfire rigs. I have major complaint. Both the four and eight pin power cables are hard wired. Even though it is modular you still have a big cord to hide. Other than that it is perfect. Keep in mind it also does not include the newer type GPU adaptors either, I believe they are eight pin now. Even with those two things in mind, I would buy it again in a heartbeat. The value just cannot be beat. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Quiet and EZ installation Wednesday, August 22, 2007 A Customer from Long Beach, CA
The supply is very quiet. The cables are nicely packaged in a reusable bag making it easy to add cables later. I would definitely use this supply in another system. It's been running for about a month in my system. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Great product Sunday, August 12, 2007 A Customer from cary,nc
Extremely quite power supply, which is just what I needed for my silent system. Combined with a big typhoon cooler and a Noctua case fan, the machine is virtually silent. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Quieter than expected. Saturday, August 11, 2007 Mike from WV
This power supply is whisper quiet. My previous power supply was marketed as "silent", but even when it was brand new it was louder than the CORSAIR 520W. The modular plugs are great. Easy to install. Others complain about the modular wires being short, but I've got a full tower case and had no problems. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 A Good PSU, But I Wish... Tuesday, August 07, 2007 Jason from Vienna, VA
The unit itself is great: powerful, stable and quiet. I wish it had an important feature: thermal-controlled fan speed. The case fan cables out of this PSU always provide 12V. With my motherboard (A7N8X Deluxe), the case fan speed was a constant 4100rpm, which was quite noisy. It doesn't make sense if we buy a quiet PSU but the computer is always noisy. I had to buy a thermal-controlled case fan (~$20) and now I'm happy. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Why bother with any other power supplies? Tuesday, August 07, 2007 A Customer from Largo, Florida
The features are as good as it gets. The noise level is so low, it's hard to tell it's running. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Quiet, uncluttered performance Tuesday, August 07, 2007 John from Austin, TX
Does just what it's supposed to - provide quiet power. Modular cabling is a big plus in keeping the case uncluttered and air flowing freely. Just wish it had a way to monitor fan speed. A connector with only one Molex connector would have made things even better. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Modular is the way to go. Tuesday, July 03, 2007 Edward M. Kavanaugh from Ashland, MA 01721
I have had many power supplies in the last 25 years but this was the first modular power supply. What a pleasant experience. Just the easiest and cleanest install I have ever made. I will spend the extra money it costs for modular every time from now on. The time saved during installation and the ease of installation is well worth the extra cost. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 As advertised Monday, June 25, 2007 MDR from Greendale, Wi.
Easy install, the modularity lets you use only the cables needed for you configuration while having all you need for any future system upgrades or changes. Even a noob could handle this install. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 i thought it was broken Tuesday, June 19, 2007 A Customer from San Diego, CA
b/c when i turned it on, it was so silent. made the mistake of assuming it fit in a micro-ATX case and it does not, but it's a great fan and am using it. i don't know much about efficiency, etc. so i won't pretend to say it's great there. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Very Satisfied so far. Wednesday, June 06, 2007 A Customer from Hereford, Az
I purchased this powersupply for my Dell Dimension E510. I was concerned that it was not going to work due to Dells proprietary tendancy. It installed within 20 min and has worked fine since. No problems. The powersupply has been flawless. Installation was straightforward and easy. The modular cables are great. Comes fully supplied with cabling. Have had no problems, so far. Great product, great price. Thanks buy.com. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great PSU at a great price! Tuesday, May 29, 2007 Adam from Matawan, NJ
I've always been a fan of Corsair products because of their overall quality and performance. This PSU is no exception! I was looking for a new PSU that was modular and had a little more juice than my PC Power & Cooling Silencer ATX 400 PSU. Not only is the Corsair 520HX quieter than any PSU I've owned, including the Silencer 400, its overall performance is better as well, IMO! The modular cables are a godsend and I'll never go back to a regular wired PSU again! Corsair really outdid themselves by looming ALL of the wires. My only gripe is that this PSU runs a little hotter then what I'm used too due to the slower speed 120mm fan. So far though everything is working great and no problems what-so-ever. Great price BTW! 1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Worth Considering Sunday, May 27, 2007 Tom K from Brookeville, MD
To being with, it's quiet. To hear the fan, you have to put you ear right up against it.
The fan position is to the side, rather than the rear, and the back side is solid metal, so unlike most power supplies, this will not help cool your case.
As to the issue of the component cables, I'm less than impressed. Sure, you only add the cables you need, but the ones provided are so short, you essentially have to run a cable to each component which means you have a bunch of cables.
On the balance, it's excellent. And the frequent rebates along with solid technical performance makes this really something worth considering. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Great value. Very quiet Saturday, May 26, 2007 Jason W from Westlake, Ohio
A good power supply for the money. Can't go wrong with Corsair products. The modularity is a must have feature. I was still having some overheating problems only on hot days though and my computer would shut off or freeze up. I never had this problem with my old power supply. Not sure if the PSU is to blame though. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Sweet.....easy install...quiet. Saturday, May 26, 2007 A Customer from RIverside, CA
not much more to say...will see if the rebate ever arrives. They asked for something NOT included in the box as confirmation of purchase.... Buy.com finally sent me a letter stating that they would honor it without that enclosure I never got. Time will tell if that works or not. The power supply appears rock solid, easiest install I have ever done. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Best PSU I've ever owned Tuesday, May 22, 2007 A Customer from Greenville Texas
This is a solid, extremely quiet power supply.. I wish I could afford one for every build.. You know you'll be able to handle the next gen components with it, because it's so rock solid..
Plus it's a nice looking PSU and it's modular. My case organization is better than it ever was before with the modular cables, it leaves it looking very clean. Was this review helpful?
1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 High Class Power Tuesday, April 10, 2007 Steve from Albuquerque, NM
This is the first product review I have ever written but this unit is so exceptional that I felt compelled. The first thing you notice is the elegant packaging. Black cable ties are included for a neat installation. The main cables plug directly from the powersupply to the motherboard, but the peripheral cables each plug into a socket on the powersupply and then into the device at the other end. This makes routing the cables the easiest I have ever seen in 20 yrs of making computers. You route cable, tie it down and then just plug it it at both ends.
Don't need all the cable right now? They come packaged in an expensive looking rip-stop nylon bag with a velcro-sealing flap. Just store them in the fancy bag and get them out when add new peripherals to your machine.
With its thermostatically controlled 120mm fan this thing is quiet! Buy it! You'll be impressed. Was this review helpful?

I wanted a stable and quiet PSU for HTPC and had read good things about Corsair products. The HX520 cost a little more than I had planned to spend but was worth every penny. Modular cables allow for good airflow making my system even more quiet. Also makes it flexible for expansion. Was this review helpful?

I have been on a quest to quiet my aging computer. I started by moving to an Antec P180, Scythe Ninja CPU cooler running passive, replacing a noisy drive, and modding the cooling on my video card. As each major noise source was removed, other smaller noises became apparent. The power supply was the last part for me. Looking for a quiet yet powerful power supply lead me to these new Corsair units. These are designed/made by Seasonic. They are energy efficient, hold their voltages under load, are modular, and best of all for me, run nearly silently. Check out the review at SilentPCReview.com.
Of course not everything is perfect. But the only con I have on this is that even though it is a modular power supply, there are a few permanently attached cables, and I have one which I am not using. Overall I am in love with this power supply. Was this review helpful?
