5 of 5 Blasing Fast and Reliable Sunday, May 17, 2009 Terry from Tampa, Florida
This will be my third purchase of a Corsair 16GB Flash drive and this one is definately gaster than the previous two. I would definately recommend this drive to anyone needing a speedy flash drive. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 not as fast as i expected it to be Wednesday, September 24, 2008 Albert from Houston, TX
I bought this because there was a $25 rebate, so the final price was low even for an ordinary flash drive with 16GB capacity. When I first inserted it and tested its speed, I was getting ~18MB per second transfer rates. But after a while, the transfer rate (copying file with a same size) dropped to around 7MB per second. Up to now (after 2 weeks) the transfer rate remained that way.
Well yes, it is still faster compared to an ordinary flash drive by about 50%, but it was not 3x faster like they advertised it. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Product Tuesday, September 23, 2008 Allan from Burke, VA
Was great right out of the package. I am using it to store downloads and client files. The main reason I bought it is that it is fast enough to run apps from it. I use it to run Firefox mobile to leave no trace on any computer. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Nice unit, but performance is lacking. Monday, August 25, 2008 Chip from MA
I had the 8 gig model and purchased the 16 gig for more capacity. It works fine but transferring a 2 gig file to the 8 gig model takes 52 seconds. Same file tranferred to the 16 gig model takes 1 minute and 50 seconds.
I have other brand flashdrives, and the 16 gig model is a little faster than they are, but the 8 gig is much faster than any I have used. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good stuff Monday, August 04, 2008 G from Tennessee
This is a great drive. I do IT work for a college and need to be able to move profiles and data between systems and this is just perfect for having some tools and software loaded and for storage. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 FANTASTIC! Tuesday, July 29, 2008 Uxío from Salvador, Brazil
The fastest flash drive I ever used.
PROS: 16 GB capapity; Ultra fast transfer files rates; Rubber housing; The red color helps to find it in the backpack.
CONS: Little bulky to insert in a laptop with USB ports together, but includes a USB cable extension; Be careful for not to lose the cap. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Meh... Friday, March 14, 2008 Jason from Boston, MA
This is the red "GT" version that's supposed to be faster than the blue version. Read speed is pretty fast; about 30 MB/s. Unfortunately write speeds are pretty pathetic for a "GT" at only about 8 MB/s. It's probably not worth the premium over the standard blue version, so I gave it a 3 for value. I'm a bit disappointed in Corsair for playing a bit fast and loose (no pun intended) with the "GT" branding on this part.
Also the included encryption software is TrueCrypt which is a free open-source program. The version that comes on the drive is old - check the TrueCrypt website for the 5.0 version. Was this review helpful?
