Exceptional product. Easy to install and use - no issues with either. Easy management interface with more than enough options that you will probably never use - especially if you are a home user. One minor (very minor) con - When my main home PC reboots or shuts down - the NAS goes into some for of sleep mode. When the Pc reboots the NAS comes to life again - after a 5 - 10 minute checkdisk.

Relatively easy to setup and lotsa' space for the money. I haven't activated the web-access feature yet but that looks good too. The one configuration issue that I had was because I use ZoneAlarm firewall. You need to add the IP address of the LinkStation to the trusted zone. You'll need to do this each time you do a clean-install of ZoneAlarm. Once this was done, it worked without any further issues. This was my second attempt at a home-NAS solution and this one looks like the ticket.

This product gets the job done so I'm satisfied overall. On a Windows network you do have to install drivers so that the networked drive is identifiable by the individual computers. My use of it is as a data file server for 7 computers. It performs well enough. One issue I've had, is when I set the power for auto, the NAS doesn't want to wake up when it is sleeping and a computer attempts to connect to it. The work around is just to leave it in the "on" power position, which will eat more energy, but at least it works.
